This gown can be made longer if you like, the length is up to you. I have made it in a medium length. It can also be made using a yarn with shimmer in it. I embellished with little ribbon bows on the sleeves and front of dress at times.

Absolutely love this pattern. I’ve finished the neck the sleeves and I’m just going to continue until I am done with all my yarn for the length. Thank you so much and such a wonderful christening gown. I’m sure my niece will love it.

My daughter who is almost 42 had this exact dress except there were tiny purple flowers across the top of the dress. So adorable.
I had a little trouble with the arm holes but I figured it out. This is a beautiful pattern. Thank you for sharing. I'm making it with yarn bee sugarwheel cotton color Paris mornings. It will be a regular dress for a baby.

I love this dress. I have only made granny square blankets but this dress was so easy and it is all thanks to you. I made this dress for my daughter who is due oct 8th and now my 5 yr old would like one too. is there a way to make the yoke larger for a size 8. I tried to increase it and fit it around her but it didn't work out. I love that you do the work with us and post how the instructions would look on a pattern. You make it so easy to learn. Could you do a video for dresses for older girls?

HI YALONDA I WAS TRYING TO DO THE DRESS BUT I WAS GETTING MORE STITCHES AT THE END. I NOTICED THAT ON ROW 6 YOU SAID ITS THE SAME AS ROW 1 AND 3 BUT ITS NOT CAUSE I KEPT GETTING 135 STITCHES. SO I WENT TO TERESA VIDEO AND ITS 'HDC in next 2 STs, 2 HDC in next STS' SO WITH THAT YOU END UP WITH 120 STITCHES. JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW. LOVE YOUR WORK.

Can I use a sports weight (3) instead of a worsened weight (4) yarn ? Also would that change the number of my starting chains?
hi Yolanda, i'd like to do this dress for my coming soon grand daughter, my challenge is that the yarn i'll be using is silky style coz I like them and are suitable for our hot weather, I need the measurment of the dress as I'll not be able to count the chains, or if possible let me know how many stitches in 1 inch, and what is the length of each raw, so I can assume the length of the upper part.

On row 7, I end up with 53 stitches between the first armhole, and the next. Your saying I should have only 40. any idea if your wrong, or I'm wrong?
Same for me! I counted 51 though. But that's closer to your 53 than when she says it probably is 40. Does yours lay flat? Did you end up finishing the dress? I'm worried to move forward with the dress if I'm so far off.

Yolanda, On row7 I have different count than you.... Please clarify for me. I chained 2 then hdc to 16, chain 5 then hdc to 40 (in your video you said that there would be 40 chains between the next stitch maker and I have 54. I will patiently await your response. TY Sandy

Yolanda I love your videos...my only problems is that you are too close to the camera and it makes it hard to see what you are doing at times. Also, the volume is sometimes hard to hear. I do have a question....how many stitches would I chain at the beginning for a 3 to 6 month old child; a six to nine month old, and a nine to 12 month old? I would appreciate if you could respond in a timely manner. The dress is absolutely beautiful. I have made it for an up to 3 month old and it turned out exactly as yours....beautiful, just beautiful.
