Hi Darren, a great video, buddy! Oh yes, I also don't want to miss my long lens 🙂
You got some stunning photos, I love especially those with the golden light around ~06:13. Just awesome!
Thank you for sharing and nice greetings,
    Christian

Thank you very much buddy ! Was a good adventure in the end, especially after I made the fog :-)

I love the fallen tree, the mushroom tree and the one you used your breath for fog… I’m glad you are switching it up, I’m more of a flower/macro photographer so I use many different lenses. Even though landscape photography is very beautiful it becomes repetitious. So whenever you mix it up that only makes your channel more interesting. So, I say go for it and keep up trying different lenses and or situations.

Absolutely brilliant video Darren and absolutely beautiful photos especially the one with the frosted leaves all the subjects where nicely back-lit the long lens brought out some nice details. Really enjoyed the video thank you for sharing it

Another interesting vlog, love the colours in the ICM image. I do try using my 70-200 more and have it in my camera bag more often now.

I love using a long lens, so often it works in situations and conditions where a wide angle won't. Some lovely images Darren

Some really nice images. It is good to get out & do things differently.
I really enjoy doing that type of photography with my 200-500 lens. That is my main lens.
    Have a good week

Great video, Darren. It has really inspired me to get out and get more creative with my camera. I love your images, especially the images in the cascade and the ICM, but they all inspire me to try something different. Thanks Darren

@@DarrenJSpoonley inspired by you I went out this evening with my 70-200. It has image stabilization so I took some hand held images. I can’t take hand held images with my 24-70. They always come out blurry. Anyway, I went to a spot I have photographed many times and took some photos. I pulled out the tripod and took a few shots. I played around with depth of field and tried different shutter speeds and apertures. Everyone of my images were blurry. I expected some as I blurred the background on some. I rarely get sharp images. The light was terrible, clouded over at golden hour which is par for the course when I go out.

I would suggest putting the camera in auto mode and take a test shot to see if it is sharp, if not then there’s an issue with lens or camera! Once that’s determined then set your shutter speed twice as fast as your focal length and set the iso to auto, and then if that works then it will be iso you need to play with when light is low and you can’t get the shutter speed you need without blurring ! I’d also play around with the different focus modes in the camera ! Hope that helps

I can't promise but I just might try and prise my wide angle off the front of my camera buddy and follow in your footsteps 😂. Loved the ICM that worked beautifully and the golden glints off the little cascade were just sublime. Have a great week D 🙏🙏🙏

I use the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 Sport lens on my 5D Mark IV and R6 w/ the adapter. I must say it is my favorite lens, so versatile, but heavy. As always, love your videos, content and beautiful photos.

Good video as you show that we can get great photos by using 70-200. I have never really liked the classification of camera lenses based on the objectives you shoot, like wide angle lenses as "landscape photography lens" and so on. So using 16-35 mm, 24-70 mm, 24-105 mm, 70-200mm or 100-400 mm lens is up to you only. I have even seen great landscape photos when using a 50 mm.

100%! It all depends on what you want to put in front of the lens :-)
