Blue Lava Guitar "secret" recording mode (note: using nylon strings for test)

  • How to drastically improve guitar recordings made with the Blue Lava Guitar. I was seriously blown away by how good the audio recorded from the guitar sounded. It was a bit of an unexpected secret feature I learned about by accident. This video demonstrates how to activate the secret recording mode and what the recorded sound file sounds like at the end.
Note: I had replaced all the strings on my Blue Lava guitar with nylon strings. So the sounds recorded here are with nylon strings (not the original steel strings)

Thanks for the video. Probably going to pick it up here in a month or so, I'll be coming back to your video. Itd be sweet if you did some more videos on the effects and looping feature. Pretty cool the nylon strings are working out for you.

Nice video ,Thank you for the sharing.
    I got a question
Did you directly connect the headphones to guitar ?
    Don't need any adapter?
I connected the headphone directly to Guitar, but there was only the left side got sound of the headphone. Have you ever had this situation?
Btw subscribed to your channel already. I hope you can make more videos.
    Thx🙏🙇‍♂️

Just discovered this a few day ago as well. Now I always add a little bit of microphone to make it sound a bit fuller

    nice video man!!!
if you don't mind me asking, how long does the battery lasts?

battery last for 5 hours on my Lava Me Play. But it depends a lot on having the screen, wifi, etc On. or record and change effects or other settings. I woukd say play an hour per day, and just using the ui lightly you can get 5 to 7 days of a single charge

I guess the microphone has more legit sounds, i like it cuz it sounds natural. It also captures the percussive effect on an acoustic guitar

Yea. The weird thing is that the microphone sound doesn't sound as good when played through the guitar. It seems Lava really thought through the details so that when playing and recording through the guitar, they use the piezo. When recording and playing through the amp, they use the microphone or mix of mic and piezo. It's a really clever design

@@RayJuang oh i see, so there's an automatic mic setup in each condition. Well i guess they really consider the best way to achieve the best sound in every situation. That's a good one

Nylon strings ???? Is that working for you at all on this tiny guitar ?

Yep. It sounds really good. Only thing i am not use to is the thinner neck compared to standard classical

I just god this guitar, it's my first acoustic. The strings seem really hard to press down, like I have to press them down very far. Is that just a normal thing with acoustics?

Yeah acoustics are very noticeably harder to press than electric

Would you recommend this guitar and what strings would you recommend on this guitar 🎸 🤔 thanks

Yes! I really love this guitar. If you get it, make sure to get it with the charging guitar stand. Otherwise, it'd be cumbersome to plugin the usb charging cable. The only thing that is different from this is that the neck is thinner than classical guitars (besides the weird looks). The guitar sounds great with nylon strings though. I use D'Aggio Guitar Strings Folk Nylon Guitar Strings EJ34 (D'Addario Guitar Strings - Folk Nylon Guitar Strings - EJ34 Classical Guitar Strings - Nylon Core, Ball End - 80/20 Bronze Wrap, Black Nylon Trebles a.co/d/gY7Hbb8 )

@@davidbrassard9125 not sure what you mean by 36 or 38? Blue lava guitars only have one size (they are acoustic guitars and default comes with steel strings). If you swap out the strings with nylon strings, make sure the strings have ball ends

@@noone-gh1nr ah no wonder. At this point, I kinda wished I had gotten the lava me 3. I love the blue lava guitar, but it gets scuff marks quite often. I wonder if the lava me 3 has the same issue. Also, the charging dock for lava me 3 looks cooler
