In this video I'll be taking a look at the new BLUE LAVA ORIGINAL which is LAVA MUSIC's most affordable model yet. The BLUE LAVA ORIGINAL is built from the same HPL wood laminate as the BLUE LAVA however it features the L2 Freeboost system instead of the HILAVA touch screen system. In short, it's similar to the LAVA ME 2 but made from HPL instead of Carbon fibre. I'll demo the 2 guitars side by side so you can hear how it sounds.

Totally leaning towards the smaller model you featured so beautifully. Thanks for clarifying the pros and cons! Do you think the Blue Lava Original will still sound good when tuned down to C# standard tuning, perhaps with thicker-gauge strings to compensate for „looseness“?
I actually like the reverb on the Blue Lava more suprisingly.
The effects come across more on the carbon fibre but the laminate sounds more natural acoustic, I have the lava me 2 and love it, had it for about 4months , play it an hour at least a day and have only charged it 3 times

I have done a test with Classical Strings (folk d'Addario) on my Lava Me 2 and sounds good. Incredible playbility. Do You think on Blue Lava could be more near to a Classical Guitar? Thanks.

How is the space between frets in comparison with an acoustic? I tried the nova go and it's too small.
Dave it's Ian. I'm thinking of changing down to 11 rotosound custom light phosphor bronze strings mainly as I feel the stock strings sound flat at high e & B area plus for more comfort. What's your thoughts.

I have lava 2 - I love this guitar, I think it doesn't sounds as good as a big wooden guitar, but I prefer to play Lava anyway.

Hey! I’m thinking of buying the Lava Me 2, but my issue is the truss rod being non existent! Would it be a better option to purchase this Blue Lava Original bc of the truss rod? I also prefer to not have a touch screen so that’s why I am deciding between these two! Any info helps!
Hey Owen,
Personally I like the tone of the Blue Lava original better. The LAVA ME 2 is setup with a plek machine so the setup is pretty spot on and being carbon fibre it won't move much, but you're right there's no way to adjust if you want to down the line. The LAVA ME 2 has slightly better ergonomics, feels good on the lap with countoured body. But other than that, I prefer the blue lava original because of the earthier tone.

@@OkinawanPride13 The battery is pretty good on it. I can't put an exact number on it but I reckon I only had to charge it every couple of weeks if I was playing once a day. Just uses micro-USB to charge
I'm really stuck choosing between a PRS SE A60E and Lava Blue Touch .
I got a Lava Blue touch... I am a newbie... But felt the action really high... It has adjustments that you can do, adjusting the truss rod, but still, too high to me... I am considering taking it to a luthier... Would that be too much? Thanks!
Recently got mine and am thinking the same thing, the action on this is just way too high, I’ve tried tuning the truss rod but I don’t think that was enough and I’m just afraid of breaking it. Did you end up taking it to a luthier? Was it fixable?

The blue lava with touch screen doesn’t last as long as the battery in the L2 system (makes sense as it’s powering a computer and touch screen!). I found it to give about 3-4 hours of play time before needing a recharge (Blue lava with touch screen)

I have a problem; my blue lava touch guitar will not connect to any of my Bluetooth devices. I contacted blue lava and they told me that they have not developed that technology yet???? Well, what the Heck, they have ripped us off. On their website it doses state WiFi & Bluetooth. Man, these guys are false advertising this product lying to customers via saying it has WiFi & Bluetooth on their website. Don't buy this if you really need to connect to your Bluetooth speakers because it does not have that capability. Ripp Off's

Buyer beware 🛑! I bought this guitar 4 months ago and the freeboost pre amp no longer works after only casual and delicate use. The only tech support with this company is through email. You will at most get one response per day usually during overnight hours from a person overseas giving you one troubleshooting step to follow at a time. I got a troubleshooting video that wasn't in English. Guitar is under "warranty" for one year ,but to fix their defective product, I have to pay to ship it back to them for repair. I loved the sound of the freeboost when the guitar worked, but this is not a quality product from a quality manufacturer.
