Are they going to ever acknowledge that Lara’s dad was actually a pretty bad father? The guy spent his entire time as a father neglecting Lara in favour of whatever he was obsessed with at the time and it’s probably a big part of why Lara isn’t very well adjusted.

I’d give it a 7/10 it was a solid story of Laura dealing with grief/trauma and ending her destructive nature that was of epic proportions in the last game. Yes she delt with her trauma in 2 but that was a temporary solution of epic and self killing stunts.
The style of animation they went with just feels childish. If you're going to make an animated version of any franchise and hope it appeals to adults, the only answer is leaving this job to Japanese animators.

Political correctness seems to have altered the essence of yet another franchise. The series no longer resembles the original movies. It feels like they’re adding characters, like an Asian scientist or a disabled person, just to meet diversity quotas rather than to serve the story.
Hailey Atwell as Lara Croft is a PERFECT match, it's a shame the writing and direction wasn't up to snuff. With better writing, and better art-direction and animation, this could have been really good, so much wasted potential.

When a character deviates so heavily from all it's established source material before, can you really still call her Lara Croft? Why not just create your own character at that point.

The issue is this feels like a Character Assasination when they try to change her into something completely different. Like they made Joker 2 into a Musical. I guess some people likes it, but not the people who liked Joker 1.
Well laura is a woman. And this character without question has the body frame of a man. It's very distraction to watch a show with something so glaringly incorrect. Especially when you know that they did it on purpose. Laura croft is an attractive sexy woman with a feminine build. This was an unattractive woman with a masculine build.
Once again we just take the rebooted trilogy's story and mix it up. It was for the Alicia Vikander TR movie, and it is for the Netflix adaption. I've played the modern trilogy, and do not need that story continued. For the last time... We yearn for old school-Lara. Tanktop with shorts, dual pistols, incredible locations around the world, and that good ol' spy feel. I stopped the 1st episode midway through. It was cheesy, boring and straight up the same dialogues from the TR 2013 game.

I'd watch just to see a progression of Jonah and Sam. Sam all but disappears during the companion novels after the events of the first game, as she can't come to terms with what happened to her. I'm curious if that gets discussed here, which would make sense as she's said to be "estranged" or if they just bypass that entirely.
They straight up leave Sam for season 2.

@@bustanut5501 Go check her art in Underworld. Really, that's the most realistic Lara should be. Very athletic but still maintaining her femininity silhuete. Which they got rid off since the reboot.

@@__MPires__ Underworld is still a bit stylized and has an entirely different art style. She hasn't lost any femininity in the reboot, unless you think that her wearing longer pants is a sign of that. Sure, we can argue about her face, but Shadow is peak Lara physique. At least to me.
