Suggestion: bevel the guard from the outside toward the blade so that the guard guides the tip of the opposite blade into its slot to minimize the chance of stabbing your hands as you sheath the knives.

My knife brothers, you really have big respect and big love in Serbia!!! Thank you for giving us houpe that soon we will be able to get this products! They are beyond perfection! God bless you!!!
I'd like to see this idea applied to a sword, if only as a movie prop style mockup. There are twin swords in that style with the blade and hilt being the same length, like the one used by Gordon Liu in "Kill Bill Volume 1". But with this mechanism, you could make a similar twin sword set with shorter grips but longer blades, resulting in more natural short sword proportions.
You could even design a full length Katana where you draw a normal Katana out of a sheath, but then pull the top end of the sheath and draw a second full length Katana. The first one would be basically a normal Katana but with the blade mounted slightly to the side, and the second one would have an extending blade of this style that extends by the length of a hilt, while having a pass-through for the other Katana. The first Katana is a normal fixed blade, and the second Katana is part of its sheath but pulls out to be the same length as the first one. Not at all practical but would be very cool in a movie.
Or you could have swords draw from opposite ends of a sheath like Shinomori Aoshi's twin Kodachi from Rurouni Kenshin. Though while his are two short swords point-to-point in one extraordinarily long sheath, with one hilt disguised as part of the sheath, you could fit full length blades into a single normal sized sheath and still disguise the second hilt as part of the sheath.
I would say it can even be applied to a more compact version of a polearm like a nagamaki or pudao or even greatsword, depending on the overall length of the handle, while the scabbard is half the length of the handle. Basically an almost 2 meter polearm can be compacted into 1.2 - 1.5 meter instead (with a top scabbard), like a normal arming sword length.
@@crozraven A Nagamaki could just be done as an OTF. No sheath needed. But something like a Naginata or Pudao could be done either by having the blade be an OTF and the handle extend out the other side, or it could be a folder. If the handle is double the length of the blade, you just need to make the blade fold in and the handle fold in half and it would close down to a third of the length. Making the handle fold could even accommodate a blade twice as thick as the handle.
@PenneySounds OTF used spring system & I doubt locking system could handle the mass of the blade. My point is this design is much simpler & arguably stronger for a longer/heavier blade. in the case of nagamaki example, let's say we have 100 cm handle, while the blade 130 cm (already included 20 cm full tang for strength), that would make overall sheathed mode up to 130 cm, while the unsheathed mode up to 210 cm, which is pretty impressive. You can basically carry it like a normal katana.
Fantastic work! Great tool for hiking in areas with predators. Great profile for horizontal belt carry, front and rear. Definitely need to really give that mount serious testing. This is such an excellent idea! I would really like you also to come out with additional handle/sheaths that allow you to carry the blades independently.
What i like here is that when worn in the small of the back, putting it away after use is easy in comparison to a standard sheath knife. Trying to get the knife in to the sheath which is behind you would be hard and dangerous. But with this, you sheathe the knives, then you would just be clipping a unit into its holder with no blades exposed 👍

Ive made some wooden models since i saw your videos of the first prototype and another way of carrying I've found is having a belt loop between the blades, and pulling it apart to detach it. That way theres no need for any pouch or attachment piece. Obviously with a sharp steel blade deployment could come at the cost of cutting off that belt loop as well as having the blades slightly in open position but I think i think with a little tweaking this carrying method still has promise

I can see a cop with an ax to grind saying the length of blade not retracting means that "fixed blade" laws apply. The blade length as a "folding" knife is a legal problem some places.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. Could actually be done because it's a new concept. 😊 Yes I want two definitely,....?. Both halfs !!!! 😂😅
Blade length is still very important here because it is visually striking to see a blade emerge from a handle half the length. I’m sure they will get the right balance of blade length and stability. Not every knife needs to be full tang, these knives are for show.

A long sliding blade coupled with a fixed full tang short blade would also be really interesting. And it would be much easier to guide the different blade lengths when sheathing too. Really great concept, I like it a lot.

Add some kind of anti-slip barred grip to the handle. While messing around in the backyard, i noticed it does matter to have a good anti slip handle on a knife so you can have more confidence in stabbing and slashing things.
Thumbs up! AND, you might consider a double edged version where legally permissible, as "UP close and PERSONAL" Edged weapon fights are always a bit chaotic (been there done that) and you might find the ability to INSTANTLY cut from ANY direction worthwhile. Double-edged blades are also superior when dealing with an assailant wielding a club/baseball bat or wooden fighting stick/staff, as they can 'bite ' the surface of the former making a strike easier to parry/deflect/ or bind the aggressor's weapon while attempting to disable/terminate him/her. (former VN era- FORCECOMM HQ XVIII AIRBORNE SpclServ/War "SKYDRAGON" LEO here..)
I got my little brother a staff that split and became swords. One thing found cumbersome was the blades were the same length and placing them back in the scabbard with the length of the blades made it difficult. My thoughts were to make one blade an inch longer to start the process easy.
So badasss I need to see a bad guy in a movie pop out an alleyway and bust open these dual wield blades and then the protagonist claims them cause they are cool af
One blade could have various tools sharpener, flint strike, magnet , three holes for wood arrows and a small looking glass for the sun Its smooth very brilliant
I like the ingenuity of this thought. It would be possible but I see two challenges: - The groove would actively take away overlap between one side of the blade and grip currently aiding in its balance and strength when fully extended… Even if only 1.5 mm for a 3mm thick cord it does mean taking away 6,8% of the overlap. - There is nothing keeping the blade handles from sliding apart besides the friction of the blades in their own handles when you pull them out towards their locks. This is also why the current holder is shaped around the guards to ensure the blades don’t slide partially open by accident. In the case of your cord suspension idea that would mean you instantly lose them. Thanks for thinking outside the box though! That’s how great ideas happen.
Interesting to see just a compact knife with a single blade and short sheath. Two blades are not always needed, and one long blade in a compact form will find many more connoisseurs.
Yes its fantastic already sent vid to 3 friends yes id want one (as lots of sharks and gators where i play lol) its a stellar design blade and tge concept of dual blades is still genius. im hoping price wont be prohibitve to many.Cant wait to see first run.Start small see how fast they sell..
I'd definitely go with small of the back or belt buckle... I'd like a stiff flap to hold it in the holder so that you can pull it downward, so that it's not held in by clothing or an opponents body...
Ok, here me out here. what if this locking mechanism being used to design a compact polearm instead like a nagamaki or pudao or greatsword or even twinblade spear instead? for example a nagamaki version, it's rather clear the blade length almost double the length of the handle, so we can assume the length for sheathed mode is as long as if not shorter then average length of katana with scabbard, meanwhile unsheated mode will go on the overall length of nagamaki & could be even more if the scabbard can be attached as pole too.

So badasss I need to see a bad guy in a movie pop out an alleyway and bust open these dual wield blades and then the protagonist claims them cause they are cool af
I am from Slovenia, and I hope I can get one, when the production starts.
i will definitely get one, keep up the good work!
I definitely want one. Great job guys.
Yes, me and two more of my friends want one ! Please make sure everyone gets one. Don't limit supply to much. Thanks!
One blade could have various tools sharpener, flint strike, magnet , three holes for wood arrows and a small looking glass for the sun Its smooth very brilliant
Count me in... I am not into knifes too much but this one really is badass, I like it!
I had something like this years ago that did not have the retraction mechanism and this, assuming it is as robust, is WAY better! 🥰
Moinsen,
Oh ja! Ich muss sowas haben. Super Arbeit. Kann es kaum erwarten eins zu bestellen.
I love this product
I never knew that I need knives. That other one "hirschspringer"? I need that one too.
The bandage on his hand makes me think you have to careful closing the knife.
YES!!!!! On the belt & behind you!!!!!!!
Thank you gentlemen great work and job.
Nice to see someone from my country on this channel!
Okay, Now to start save money to but one when it goes to market. I really like this design and I want it.
Already waiting for the limited edition double wakizashi 😆
Amazing! I'd buy one based on final aesthetics and production quality.
Ich würde direkt eins nehmen.
Super Arbeit!
Perhaps there could be mirrored vertical grooves between the blades in the touching surfaces to accept a knotted piece of chord to suspend them from?
I like the ingenuity of this thought. It would be possible but I see two challenges:
- The groove would actively take away overlap between one side of the blade and grip currently aiding in its balance and strength when fully extended… Even if only 1.5 mm for a 3mm thick cord it does mean taking away 6,8% of the overlap.
It’s soooo cyberpunk, I love it
That’s exactly what I was going for with the (lack of) detailing. A very futuristic modern take on a set of Tantos :-)
@@nirodha7028 wonderful work, take my money damn it! Haha
Interesting to see just a compact knife with a single blade and short sheath. Two blades are not always needed, and one long blade in a compact form will find many more connoisseurs.
You can stab with it. Proceeds to never stab with it.
Yes its fantastic already sent vid to 3 friends yes id want one (as lots of sharks and gators where i play lol)
its a stellar design blade and tge concept of dual blades is still genius.
im hoping price wont be prohibitve to many.Cant wait to see first run.Start small see how fast they sell..
I carried a butterfly knife when I was InterRailing in Europe, back in 1970's. A good tool for most uses.
What!? There's no spring? Please take my money.
I love it, Joerg! I would also like to see a smaller version that you can easy carry for EDC if possible.
jörg einfach ein ehrenmann
Wow the slo mo really shows the difference in smoothness of the draw with the 3d printed version, nice!
