I need to start reading more. Thanks for teaching us a bit ,
One interview I remember in particular was when you were sitting with a gentleman who was bringing a line of bourbon.
You shared with him an old one and I was amazed. But more interesting was the fact that you were able to bring him back to childhood memories and things that thankful. My goodness. That was my favorite episode of any broadcast you have ever done. It was total class. The truest in the best sense of the word SIR
Went to WR last summer and did the tour. It was great! As we made our way into the mash room, a big smell of bananas was noticed by everyone. Our tour guide commented that it is a characteristic note of Woodford Reserve
Picked up this one and last years at Costco for $108. Both are phenomenal. Agree that last years edged this years and was a bit more complex but very happy to have both on the shelf.
Bonus points for the blooper at the beginning 😂
ECBP $80
Larceny BP $70
Maker's CS $45
Jack Daniel's SBBP $60
Old Forester SBBS $80
Wild Turkey Rare Breed $55
etc, etc
Woodford Batch Proof $150???
But it’s in a fancy 700mL bottle.
Thank you for your service.
I keep passing on it and each year it goes up in price. At 99 I'm in, anything more I'm out, esp with no age statement. ECBP LBP OFSiBBS JDSiBBS etc... Hit the spot and not overpriced to start with & going up and up in price every year
I figured you would like last year’s. That one was super broad-shouldered… it coated the entire palate.
Appreciate history info on Woodford (& Maker's rivarly). Thx.
I thought it was very Mesquite had a smoke tase to hit and also toasted
I appreciate all of your knowledge. You have helped my spirit journey. I have actually been digging Irish whiskey lately, but still a bourbon dude at heart. Keep up the good work!!!
That send off was epic M&Fer.
These have been sitting at my local ABC stores for a couple of weeks not moving - $150 kinda steep
It still makes no sense to me why it is so expensive it is literally just a barrel proof Woodford Reserve if anything it should be $15 more than the small batch
My understanding is that they take a batch from a limited upper section of the rick to get the best juice so the price is just an extension of the smaller number of barrels they can make of it per year. Having tasted it I definitely do not think the normal WR at BP would taste anything like this stuff. It's expensive, maybe a bit too expensive but it's better than Bookers to me. I've had $200 bottles this stuff beats. I grabbed mine at msrp and it was completely worth it.
@markcalhoun8219 even at msrp ill pass and ya bookers is not worth 90 msrp either ill stick with ec bp
@@MrStreetninja007 yeah as he says OF1920 is a much better proposition, this is a specialty product like Bookers. EC and Larceny BP are basically the best value for money you can get. This stuff has a nice banana note and stands enough apart to justify it as a luxury buy but that's about it, I won't hunt it.
@@markcalhoun8219 yeah I've had plenty of opportunities in the past two years to get plenty of them I just always pass because it's way too high of an MSRP for what it is
I just picked up a bottle of the 2023. Costco 120 bucks. It’s delicious.
A double intro? Nice.
Thank you for the history lesson
It’s in regular distribution.
I love the "history lessons" in nearly every video! I honestly would watch your videos, if they were only "history lessons".
Expensive? Yes! Delicious? Yes! I really like my bottle, it just a long time to really open up.
Thanks for saving me some $$$. Love the BJJ hoodie. Hope you’re staying injury free from all the rolling.
Gotta hurt rib at moment, but will be rolling soon enough
@@FredMinnickstinks to hear you got the injured ribs. Happy to hear you’ll be rolling again. I’ve injured ribs in the past and it stunk. May you have a speedy recovery
They need a regular BP bottling. I'm not buying any more 90.4 proof Woodford, not even the double oaked.
Agree on regular release
Found this last week at retail in Michigan. First batch proof in my collection. Pretty overpriced but great bourbon nonetheless
Today at state min. Very happy.
A lot of people have been saying the recent OF 1920s have a heavy acetone note, do you agree?
Drinking Bookers Springfield as he compares against it.
Since when does Ky get snow anymore.
Too much $$$$
Too expensive.
93👍
Lol murder scene of a dead cat
I’m a whiskey geek so please go crazy with your geekiness!! I’m all about history so you can never go to deep. Thank you!!
From one geek to another, thank you
$150....no thank you. Keep it.
People complaining about the price just need to pick something else.
Strange times for economy. Always gonna get the want it less expensive comments. But more frequent these days
I think they are spoiled from 15-20 years ago and the low prices compared to the quality of product kind of like Scotch 30-40 years ago. It's a good thing those times didn't last or we wouldn't have the selection or innovation in Whiskey we do today.
I feel sorry for the dumbasses that skipped the history portion. It was cool as hell.
