If we interpret the fact of inheriting the corrupted Arda (Arda Marred) from Melkor as Sauron having control over the spiritual power (will) that Melkor had spread over Arda, it would be expected that all evil beings tainted by Melkor's will would naturally be drawn to Sauron, who had control over this will. The desire for power and immortality is actually a reflection of Melkor's will on humanity. I believe that this phenomenon underlies the attraction of human characters such as the Mouth of Sauron and the Nazgûl to Sauron.
that was a peter jackson adaptation because the mouth of sauron was never seen again after returning to the gates in the book. Do keep in mind that though the movies are brilliant, they do diverge from the books many times, give lines to others, speed up events or cut out events entirely(2 examples would be the beginning between gandalf leaving after bilbo and returning was 17 years, and the scouring of the shire did not happen in the books with after the defeat of sauron....oh and saruman did not die in isenguard, but at the shire). There are plenty of other examples, but honestly there are video essays on the differences if you wanna look more into it
One of the most mysterious, captivating & enigmatic characters in all of Tolkien lore. Great video
The Mouth of Sauron was perfectly portrayed in LOtR with gross black juice oozing out as he insults Aragorn and the Fellowship. Great scene!

Aragorn cut off the head of the mouth of Sauron at the black gate in Lord of the Rings so which is true?
