  • In memory of Deborah Kerr (September 30, 1921 - October 16, 2007).
October 16, 2017 marks ten years since the wonderful Deborah Kerr passed away. So in remembrance, I decided to make a tribute to ‘Tea and Sympathy’, one of her best movie roles in my opinion. She is truly a masterclass in acting.
I previously uploaded a Deborah Kerr tribute video a few years ago, if you wish to check it out also.

Always one of my favorite actresses since childhood. Was so delighted to have seen her on stage in Seascape.

Thank you for the beautiful tribute to Deborah on this special day. Laura was a role so close to her heart and her true self. And her whole existence was like sunshine on this earth.

I haven't watched this movie in a while and I know certain things had to be censored form the play, but I remember thinking that the main guy could be actually straight, he needed help to get past some fear or anxiety related to sex, and that his friend or roommate was gay instead. I remember they have some conversation about having to hide things and his friend is so distraught that it made me think he's had to hide being gay and is worried about the main character being seen as gay (since it was the 1950s and it was harder).

Thank you for the nice tribute to the film, Tea and Sympathy. I enjoyed it so much because of the story of a woman (Deborah Kerr) who saw in a young man (John Kerr-no relation to Deborah) what he didn't see in himself. The ability to love the opposite sex. This at a time when being gay was controversial, even scandalous. Such an attention- getting vehicle.

Evidentemente esta película está censurada, nunca entera y nunca subtitulada.

@@comeorshine Hi there! I noticed that you have a playlist on youtube of John Kerr clips. I'm such a huge fan of his too. He was such a marvellous actor. I was wondering if you know where I can find interviews of him online. The only one I have come across is the one where he is on TCM talking about Deborah Kerr on youtube.
