There's inherent pros and cons to being a man and a woman and our pros are supposed to complement one another. We are equal in rights and opportunities now (in western society at least) but that doesn't mean we are equal in our physical biology / our instinctual hardwiring. Equal means the same. Though we share many similar traits, men and women are also vastly different as nature intended.

I'm referring to general consensus primitive biology. There's always exceptions to the rule, but typically the man is physically stronger than the woman and has a natural inclination to provide and protect for her and any offspring they have. This is a complement to the woman that she wouldn't have independently. The woman on the other hand typically is more nurturing and provides motivation for the man whether directly and/or indirectly with her feminine energy. The personality, appearance and values determine relationship compatibility but certain qualities based on gender alone are typically universal.

Had a conversation with a D1 track athlete. She didn’t know I ran track, and still do competitively. I turn 50 next year. She runs 11.1. She was going on about men and women being equal. So, I met her at the track one day. I told her I only train for the 100m while training my two kids. At 49 years old, I beat her in the 100 in front of her coach. I then walked to my bag and pulled out my clippings from 1983, when I was 11 years old. I showed her the times she is running now is the times I ran at 11 years old nearly 35 years ago, and please don’t say men and women are equal when it comes to sports. We are equal in mind only in the workplace, not in athletics. Don’t get confused. I (male) ran 11.1 at 15 years old. I did not train for this, I was just training to become a semi-professional footballplayer (tbc: soccer). I was ... let me take some time to calculate ... 5 ft 7 in and 183 lbs (so on the short and heavier side, but very muscular) an did not train even once. Just went there, had probably a late start and got a very fast time. The time would have qualified me for the national championship (in fact the winner of that championship ran 10.78 in the final, if I remember right). I'm sure in the US I would've been scouted by some track&field or even football coach, in Germany just no one at my school cared. Only my PE teacher told me he was surprised that I was that fast, but never made clear that it was at top of the country and that I could maybe become professional, if I would start training. It's kind of sad how many potential athletes are never "scouted"

I once had a confrontation about the topic with a feminist. I come from a 10 years experience in kickboxing and told her that the difference between male and female is very obvious but she insisted so I invited her to look together the results of the javelin throw (or any sports where we could compare numbers) of the last 10 Olympic games to see that female gold medalists always throw shorter than the last of the men. She had to reluctantly admit I was right.

TRUTH!!! When I was in High School, I played on a .500 men's varsity basketball team. Our women's varsity basketball team was undefeated and defending State champs. They kept insisting they could beat us, and after repeatedly telling them there was no conceivable scenario in which that would ever happen, we finally gave in. The coaches reffed the game. Final score? 133-22!! Your right John, there's a big difference:)!
About 10 years ago, I was playing ball at my local 24hr fitness like we did every Sunday morning. My team had been dominating all morning. Next I had a young college girl who played "small town" college ball guard me. I absolutely obliterated her. I was just bigger, faster and stronger. Not a brag by any means just the truth. And I never played basketball in high school; just recreationally.
The women's soccer national team (which is one of the two or three top teams in the world ) lost many times against the men's under 15s. You can be great at the sport but if everyone is faster and stronger, you cannot compete.
Along time ago when I was in middle school, there was a rare occasion where the girls wanted to play against the boys with no handicaps. The boys wanted to play dodgeball. The girls wanted kickball, which none of the boys knew how to play, so we played them learning the rules as we went. The boys lost in the end. After that all the boys wanted a rematch, and for PE and recess we played kickball to better understand the game and get the skills. Eventually we had our rematch. I remember the score even today, 66-10 favor the boys. Good times.

As a woman that was in the U.S. Army for ten years, I'm here to say, after all my years observing other women and myself, there is ABSOLUTELY A BILOGICAL DIFFERENCE, between men and women. I knew that fact as a young girl growing up before the military but seeing it up close helped me gain a better perspective that I can share. Not all women get that opportunity. I have seen some fantastic women runners who outrun every single woman and a lot of men, but when you take the best men's runner against the best women's runner-he'll beat her every single damn time. And that's not just in running, that's just an example. I'm just talking physicality of course but the physical aspect is a big deal in the military world. Women do play important roles in service to their country, not not all jobs in the military require strength and strength alone, and not all jobs are "combat". There's a lot of "pencil pushing" going on. Men and women are both important but still remain different, biologically. Nothing wrong with that. For the record, I totally agree with McEnroe. So does Serena Williams.
I agree with you, but woman on average are better than men at some things. For example, When it comes to extreme endurance activity woman usually do better. There bodies are typically smaller and more efficient. Also I think woman can make better pilots in some cases for they can take higher g forces. Because they continued bragging they could beat every man outside 200. He was 31 at the time and close to retirement. He played right the day after exhausting games at the Australian Open. He deliberately played bad, like rank 600. He wasn't using his first serve to full extend, was SMOKING CIGARETTES during the challenge and still won 6:16:2 against both back to back.

The average boys high school team has 10 of 12 guys who can grab the rim and have 2 guys who can dunk. Even in high school they play above the rim. WNBA has two women in the entire league who can dunk. An average boys high school team would get 80-90% of all rebounds and beat a WNBA team by 30 points. A good high school boys team would beat the WNBA champions by 50+

When I first started kickboxing, I was initially being taught by this female taekwondo champion. Highly skilled and technical fighter but very thin frame compared to me being like 215lbs at the time. I recognized she was more skilled than me on any day but we agreed I would hold back simply cause of the power and speed difference I had over her. This fact doesn't take anything away from her skill or accomplishments and I still respect her achievements.

A couple of things, first of all what language is this? I understood McEnroe and the interviewers but the poster is speaking way too fast and I've never heard anybody axe a question. Second, Margaret Court is irrefutably the greatest tennis player of all time. 24 single titles, 19 double titles and 21 mixed doubles titles, total 64 grand slam titles. In some slams she won the singles, doubles and mixed doubles at the same event. Why is Serena Williams even in the same conversation.

There's inherent pros and cons to being a man and a woman and our pros are supposed to complement one another. We are equal in rights and opportunities now (in western society at least) but that doesn't mean we are equal in our physical biology / our instinctual hardwiring. Equal means the same. Though we share many similar traits, men and women are also vastly different as nature intended.

I'm referring to general consensus primitive biology. There's always exceptions to the rule, but typically the man is physically stronger than the woman and has a natural inclination to provide and protect for her and any offspring they have. This is a complement to the woman that she wouldn't have independently. The woman on the other hand typically is more nurturing and provides motivation for the man whether directly and/or indirectly with her feminine energy. The personality, appearance and values determine relationship compatibility but certain qualities based on gender alone are typically universal.

Had a conversation with a D1 track athlete. She didn’t know I ran track, and still do competitively. I turn 50 next year. She runs 11.1. She was going on about men and women being equal. So, I met her at the track one day. I told her I only train for the 100m while training my two kids.
At 49 years old, I beat her in the 100 in front of her coach. I then walked to my bag and pulled out my clippings from 1983, when I was 11 years old. I showed her the times she is running now is the times I ran at 11 years old nearly 35 years ago, and please don’t say men and women are equal when it comes to sports. We are equal in mind only in the workplace, not in athletics. Don’t get confused. If you can’t beat a 49 year old dude who only trains three times a week, how the hell could you beat a 21 year old, athletically prime,l man??? Stop it!!!

I (male) ran 11.1 at 15 years old. I did not train for this, I was just training to become a semi-professional footballplayer (tbc: soccer). I was ... let me take some time to calculate ... 5 ft 7 in and 183 lbs (so on the short and heavier side, but very muscular) an did not train even once. Just went there, had probably a late start and got a very fast time. The time would have qualified me for the national championship (in fact the winner of that championship ran 10.78 in the final, if I remember right). I'm sure in the US I would've been scouted by some track&field or even football coach, in Germany just no one at my school cared. Only my PE teacher told me he was surprised that I was that fast, but never made clear that it was at top of the country and that I could maybe become professional, if I would start training. It's kind of sad how many potential athletes are never "scouted"

About 10 years ago, I was playing ball at my local 24hr fitness like we did every Sunday morning. My team had been dominating all morning. Next I had a young college girl who played "small town" college ball guard me. I absolutely obliterated her. I was just bigger, faster and stronger. Not a brag by any means just the truth. And I never played basketball in high school; just recreationally.
The women's soccer national team (which is one of the two or three top teams in the world ) lost many times against the men's under 15s.
You can be great at the sport but if everyone is faster and stronger, you cannot compete.

Along time ago when I was in middle school, there was a rare occasion where the girls wanted to play against the boys with no handicaps. The boys wanted to play dodgeball. The girls wanted kickball, which none of the boys knew how to play, so we played them learning the rules as we went. The boys lost in the end. After that all the boys wanted a rematch, and for PE and recess we played kickball to better understand the game and get the skills. Eventually we had our rematch. I remember the score even today, 66-10 favor the boys. Good times.

As a woman that was in the U.S. Army for ten years, I'm here to say, after all my years observing other women and myself, there is ABSOLUTELY A BILOGICAL DIFFERENCE, between men and women. I knew that fact as a young girl growing up before the military but seeing it up close helped me gain a better perspective that I can share. Not all women get that opportunity. I have seen some fantastic women runners who outrun every single woman and a lot of men, but when you take the best men's runner against the best women's runner-he'll beat her every single damn time. And that's not just in running, that's just an example. I'm just talking physicality of course but the physical aspect is a big deal in the military world.
Women do play important roles in service to their country, not not all jobs in the military require strength and strength alone, and not all jobs are "combat". There's a lot of "pencil pushing" going on. Men and women are both important but still remain different, biologically. Nothing wrong with that.
For the record, I totally agree with McEnroe. So does Serena Williams.
I agree with you, but woman on average are better than men at some things. For example, When it comes to extreme endurance activity woman usually do better. There bodies are typically smaller and more efficient. Also I think woman can make better pilots in some cases for they can take higher g forces.

When i was in school not so long ago we didnt have girls wrestling teams females competed with the males and dominated at a young age cuz they mature earlier but theirs a reason most girls quit wrestling before high school i wrestled one girl after high school and she was nasty technique wise and since it went by weight class she was okay she beat a kid on my team and his dad made him quit which was dumb cuz she damn near beat me and i was the captain of our team

When I first started kickboxing, I was initially being taught by this female taekwondo champion. Highly skilled and technical fighter but very thin frame compared to me being like 215lbs at the time. I recognized she was more skilled than me on any day but we agreed I would hold back simply cause of the power and speed difference I had over her. This fact doesn't take anything away from her skill or accomplishments and I still respect her achievements.

This all started because someone wrote that Serena is the best tennis player EVER (as in past, present, male and female) and when someone correctly amended that statement suddenly he is insulting/belittling her?
No, he is stopping someone from inflating Serena's already massive ego. Yes I still remember her epic tantrum on the tennis pitch accusing an umpire of sexism.
He wasn’t even doing anything intentional to stop Serenas ego, he was just stating a physical and biological fact. He was asked to apologized, and didn’t and rightly so. No apologies for stating the truth.
Don’t bash Serena please. She herself said t way before McEnroe said is she played on the mens tour she would get smashed. Her exact words. She also then directly answered the specific question of her playing Andy Murray. Serena then explained she would get beat 6-0/6-0 and it would take five minutes, maybe ten. Again, her exact words. She was frustrated and she later apologized. She’s done that maybe four times in her whole career. She claimed she could beat anyone outside the top 250, then after this loss, claimed anyone outside the top 350. The guy they played (Karsten Braasch) claimed he played like someone ranked 600th just to keep it fun. So for these people (NPR and TV hosts) to react like they did, treat McEnroe how they did, and Serena to tweet what she did, knowing she claimed she wasn’t good enough to play above 350 is just insane. Like they are literally crazy people denying reality.

1n 1998 Guy was ranked 203 had played golf before the match and beat Serena 6 games to 1 and Venus 6 games to 2 and drank a beer and smoked a cigarette between sets.
