We had this record when my parents left for Uruguay SA in 1968. As the years passed there we must have listened to it a thousand times. Saturday 22nd we had it played at dadS memorial service.
I grew up with Jack Holcomb records. As a child my mother would put his albums on the stereo and my sister and I would clean house . My mother would sing along and cry. As a child I didn't understand why my mom was so moved by this music. As I listen today I totally get it. What a talent. I was so happy when I found this music again after all these years. Thank G-D for UA-cam .
As a teenage singer I was greatly blessed and motivated by Jack Holcomb's singing. His "Ship Ahoy" recording touched my soul/heart. Pastor Howard Watson "JESUS IS LORD"
I often late at night put on my headse, cover wiht a warm blanket in the winter chill, and listen to Jacks songs in the dark- they are very comforting as you can tell he really means the words he was singing and performs them with that "tear in his voice" style that I love. He was one in a million!
Bro. J. Harold Smith used to use Bro. Jack's recordings on his Old Time Religion radio broadcast. I first heard him sing I stand amazed over the station ,from Del Rio, Texas, XCRF, 750 on the AM radio dial back in 1975 while working late night or early morning. I still think no one can touch Brother Jack's rendition of this song! Bro. J. Harold Smith nearly had a spell after Bro. Jack sang it live at Bro. Smith's church on a Sunday evening service at Windsor Park Baptist Church in Fort Smith, Arkansas!
How beautiful! I have never heard this until now. Thank you so very much for posting it. If there is anyone who knows where this hymn may be obtained - it would be most appreciated.
I was wondering since you have this song perhaps you might have His song "that little boy of mine" and a song that is Mary the mother of Jesus and Judas' mother having a conversation. I do not remember the title. I would love to hear those. Thank you again
