  • Vitamix - Stainless Steel Replacement Container (truly BPA-free) for Vitamix & Hummus Demo

PROBLEM : When I found out that the Vitamix® container may NOT in fact be as claimed, "BPA-Free" (see my video - "Why I no longer use BPA-free Vitamix. Learn what BPA scientists say about scratched plastic. Short Version." • Video , I thought I was stuck with my "BPA-Free" blender!
SOLUTION : A few weeks ago I found out that there is a VERY EASY way to replace (some say 'upgrade') the Vitamix 5200 "BPA Free" plastic container with one of the Waring stainless steel containers! I tested for several weeks and decided to let everybody to know about it!
The Waring® Commercial STAINLESS STEEL container fits and WORKS PERFECTLY on modern Vitamix blender bases. Waring has many stainless steel containers but only one container fits the Vitamix base!
LINK - THE WARING STAINLESS STEEL CONTAINER (affiliate link) ecopeaceful.com/Waring-Stainle...
NOTE: Both Vitamix® and Waring® do not make any recommendations to use their products together.
Be aware that if you inform Vitamix® or Waring® that you use their products together they might void your product Warranty.
What to do with your plastic Vitamix container?
    1) Sell on eBay - Include a full disclosure as to why you are selling. You will be surprised that some people still want to buy it.
    2) Re-purpose - Use as a flower pot, water your plants since it has a nice handle and pour spout, and any other non-food use.
    3) Recycle - Only an option if your recycle company accepts #7 plastic. Most curb recycle in the U.S. do not accept #7.
    PLEASE do NOT throw 'away'!
Most conventional plastics do not biodegrade and they take about 500-1,000 years to break down. The plastic breaks down into smaller and smaller particles that end up contaminating our soil and water.
    Vegan Bell Pepper Hummus Recipe
3 cups cooked garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
1/3-1/2 cups tahini or hulled sesame seeds
1/4 cup oil (flax, hemp or olive oil), optional
    1-2 garlic cloves
    1/2 tsp salt, optional
1 ripe (red, orange or yellow) bell pepper
    1 lemon, juice only
A few Tbsp water or more, if needed for blending*
    Blend everything in high-speed blender
Makes about 3 cups of hummus
*Quantities of water will depend how long you cook the chickpeas. Fully cooked chickpeas will require less water

This woman knows how to review. That's for sure. Scratching the container to show how it's breaking down. Good work

I am so glad I came across this video. My 10 month old managed to grab a hold of my 64 oz container and dropping it on my ceramic floor. I will be ordering the stainless steel replacement container.

I'm convinced! I just purchased this steel container through your link. Thanks for posting this great video. I love my Vitamix, but after seeing the same scratching and hazing of my Vitamix container, I decided the plastic has got to go. Best of both worlds: I get to keep using my Vitamix AND no more harmful plastic. Thanks again.

I just want to tell you, I really enjoy your videos. You speak very good English and I don't mind your accent. :0) I do not have any trouble understanding you at all. I have learned so much from you. I think its great that you are educating people on plastic. I do not use any plastic in my house. Not even cups or dishes. I really dislike plastic. I have the Vitamix 3600 Plus and an old Oster blender that has glass pitcher.

Since watching your video, "BPA-Free, Exposed", I've been very concerned about my Vitamix container since I use it every day, sometimes several times per day. I haven't made soup in it for more than a year because I worried about it heating up & leaching chemicals into my food. I wasn't aware that acidic foods would do the same thing! I also have the dry grains container with which I make nut butters & grind grains into flours. That one is becoming very etched. I checked out the Waring container at amazon but the price was just too expensive for me right now. So, I went to e-bay & found a vintage Vitamix 3600-Plus blender in excellent condition. I love that the entire machine is stainless steel & it's very powerful. I will use this until the Vitamix company decides to make a new stainless steel container to use with the modern motor bases. If not, I'll be saving my money for the Waring model. :)

For the most part my tampers live in the kitchen drawer-I pulse the blender-or use the blending cycles that cycle the blender thru the high and low speeds-the food then drops into the blade on its own thru gravity.I do use the Blendtec "Twister" jar for peanut butter. The twister lid and jar are still like new.

Thank you for your review. I also found information about a replacement pad that makes the Waring canister fit better.

Thank you so much for this demo. The reason I won't buy a Vitamix is because of the plastic carafe. Been waiting for a glass one. Now I know I can buy one with confidence knowing I can get a stainless steel one. That means I can buy just the base on eBay. And thank you for the link too. Your English is quite good. No need for sub titles.

Do you know if there is a "Waring" Stainless steel jar that fits the old Vitamix Sidewinder which comes with it's own stainless steel jar ?

Thank you for this info. Will the Waring container work as a dry mixer container? I would like to use it for grinding flour. I don't know what the difference between Vitamix wet and dry container.
