I'm looking more for what the actual job entails. I don't want to know "A day in the life of a Production Designer" is like. What are the responsibilities?
It can be anything from liaising with the director, talking directly with their teams within the department, researching, drafting, overseeing their teams on set etc. every day is different.
This question brought me here for a film I'm producing. The director wants a budget for a production designer and I'm like nah we just need props and a set decorator.
Let me focus on that they are saying, the camera keeps on looking into lights and doing sweeping shots that are distracting, at least to me ;p I wanna hear what they have to say, I dont care if the shots look dope
I wish to know how the production designer should work hand in globes with the Director because there might be an instance where both won't agree with that of the other person....
Dear BAFTA I want to share this with my film students but David Copman only refers to directors as "he" which doesn't really encourage half of my students!
gropman is too inarticulate to do anything. I've never seen him before but I know I hated Life of Pi. none of these people are capable of describing their jobs.
Legit dream job. Film is so cool.
This video is great. Got stuck with production design when the other students fought over director and dop roles. Best thing to happen to me.
How do I get started please
I'm being considered for a production designer position (I really don't think I'm qualified but I'll let them do what they want 😌). It's exciting!
Did you get it?
thank you so much for this! loved the video and definitely helped
Thank you for sharing 🙏🏽🙏🏽
using this video in my reflective essay
