Insane. Production Design is really the field where I feel that even the most experienced professionals are challenged with unprecedented requirements and have to try things no one ever tried before. Deepest Respect!
And Guy's passion is amazing. Makes me want to shoot again with people who share that passion and excitement

Wow. I could listen to production designers talk about their work for hours on end. It's such a fascinating side of film making.
I do love these interviews with "Hollywood" folks talking about their big budget projects. Keep doing them, but what about also doing similar interviews with their counterparts who are doing small budget projects? Production design is a great example where "indie" folks are creating amazing results on a much smaller scale and with smaller budgets. There's lots to learn from both these big show folks and from the indie folks.
Agreed. Personally, I'd love to see Ted sit down with Ash Thorp or Ryan Booth. That would be some excellent conversation right there.
One of the more fascinating episodes in my opinion. I love hearing from departments like this that don't normally get interviewed.

The boat story is mindblowing
It's so simple yet genius
can we take a moment to appreciate the level of detail regarding the whole lantern part... "the lanterns were representing the lost souls of monks who had died in this temple" as a metaphor for how one gets lost in limbo after having spent too much time there... I mean.. come the f*** on!!!! It's 2020 and this movie still blows my mind.
This is priceless. I wish this was an in-depth 1-hour thing but this format is still incredible.
Getting this kind of access and hanging out with veterans might actually be the spark for the next generation.

I loved every single second of this video, he is absolutely incredible, a genius. His mind, the way he sees things and creates connections blew me away, I loved the Elizabeth & the map example, how he decided to transition that from a simple map on a table to a tile floor map and have her walk on it as she strategizes as well as the lanterns story for Inception. Just WOW!
this is freaking awesome! I am literally in a location scouting and art design class now and this is great seeing someone in the industry break it down visually and give their thought processes.
Among the list of unsung heroes in the film industry. What incredibly creative, hardworking people. I wish we saw more of their processes. Thank you so much for creating these videos, Indy Mogul!

Not just wooden ships, but that era, to get ideas of what would be on wooden ships, etc
LOVE this interview. It's so interesting getting the breakdown of the sets and the problem solving that goes into them. Could have watched this for hours.

Great interview for sure. Just something that made me think was that only director's name was never mentioned, out of the three designed discussed, wonder why. Excellent interview, very helpful.
Omg this was so insightful specially the Research on retro colours and how they were used which made those scenes look legit late 80s.
