How to draw glasses

  • As you already know, at the beginning of the year I announced you the presence of my design teacher from the University of Art - who was invited to show us some tips regarding drawing.
So the next few videos, you will have the pleasure to study basic drawing with him, and then we will continue together with our fashion design and illustration videos.
I received some comments regarding the construction of glasses and sunglasses and for these, we made together this tutorial, just for you.
Start with the basic shapes. Carefully observe the position and angle of the glasses. They sit on a plane surface, as you can see. First, it is recommended to use a soft line because later on you will have so many lines that it will be difficult to know which line is good and which one is not.
Start with the primary shapes and then add details to your glasses. Use simple lines and not multiple lines - because these ones are used only by amateurs and beginners.
Be confident in your line and if not, please see all the tutorials i grouped for you. You can find them in my playlists section - tutorials for beginners.
After drawing correctly the shape, double the construction line. This will give the impression of volume. The lenses and the plastic part of the glasses have thickness too.
And now, let's start drawing the second pair.
The principles are the same: first we trace the axes, then we draw the inclination of the ellipses, we draw them inside these marked areas and then we draw the thickness. We draw the bridge between the lenses and the frames.
Make sure you will use strong lines only when you will know for sure you constructed very well the shapes.
Start sketching the temples now. They should be parallel and having the same size, so we will use parallel lines to construct the drawing.
When you want to erase something, use an erasing tool like ours. Mine is a Herlitz eraser pen but for sure you will find other brands too, because they are all just fine.
    Thank you for watching!
    See you next time.
But until then, if interested in being updated to my videos, please subscribe!
    Thank you! Bye!
    ====
And now, following the same principles as described in the first part of the video, please take a look at other models we sketched here.
I would recommend first to see the video until the end and then start drawing after it.
Use the full screen mode of your window plus the
HD variant of my video to see perfectly the details.
I would recommend you to see my videos from your home computer and not tablets or phones because you won't be able to see the details.
I especially filmed my videos in HD just because I wanted to create complex lessons that will help you jump from beginner level to professional in no time.
Draw in parallel with us and when you feel the need, just stop the video and take a look at the lines, composition, position of the hand and so on, and to the same.
Doing so, i am sure, you won't condsider the videos too fast for you and you will be able to draw in the same time with us.
Thank you for watching and if you need any feed-back, just send me your drawings on fashionteaching@gmail.com and i will reply.
    Thank you!
