- Have you ever gone back and reviewed one of your old PLC programs? A popular request is for us to share PLC programming examples and explain the PLC programming methods used and what can be improved. If we are going to critique programs, then might as well start with my very first ladder logic program. It is a RsLogix 500 program for the SLC 500 PLC.

You're welcome!
Thank you Sir. Your videos are awesome.
You are welcome
That was so helpful! I just started using soft and was so overwheld!
Glad it was helpful. Always remember, the most complicated task can be broken down into simple steps.
Tim thanks for the video! I’m an electrician who is completely lost in PLC’s it’s becoming a requirement in Silicon Valley that we are familiar with these things
It sure is Gabriel. Here is a good video to get you started.

Thanks a lot for these videos! I was recently hired as a Maintenance Specialist for a company that manufactures many of the devices and controls on industrial machinery. I "retired" few years ago. Now going back to work and your videos are very helpful for me to recall and update my memory!
That's great to hear!
Thanks... I've been using {IXO} I:0/0 as a control power input to unlatch at power down.
You are welcome.
Thanks! What do you recommend as an "entry level" trainer for A&B
You are welcome! Look at a Micro820 trainer. They are very economical and use free software. Great for learning the basics. Feel free to reach out and I'll help you select one.

thanks for sharing this educational videos tim new subscriber her👍
Thanks for subbing!
I'm a ccw user and I don't mind it one bit everything is all in one place for drives, hmis and plcs
It has become a very reliable and robots software.
4:45 - That would be what's called fuzzy logic, right?
No
Tim, manuals are STILL the missing link for technicians looking for answers. If techs aren’t able to find a video these days they are ready to give up!!
I agree, a lesson in how to use the find button in a pdf wouldn't hurt :)
Hi, Sir! Can you explain a stepper motor ladder diagram using PICO soft 6?
I don't think you can do steppers with the Pico PLC
That was a neat video. Thanks.
One thing I noticed in RS Logix 500 is that you can comment individual blocks. Is this doable is Studio 5000? I have tried doing that, but when I right click on something like a MOV and make a comment it just puts the comment on the first variable instead of the block itself (problematic when the variable is used in many places). I would love to comment just /why/ I am doing something. Am I missing something? Thanks.
Come to think of it, a video on good PLC documentation might be nice to have.
You cannot comment "individual blocks" or instructions in either RsLogix 500 or Studio 5000. You can only comment data table addresses or tags which is what you are seeing. What you can do is comment the rung. Right click the rung number and you'll see the option.
Goodday Tim,Please i want to learn about PLC ,i need hands on training..can you help me out?
What brand do you need to learn and what hardware do you have?
Hello Tim is this free software
There is a free version for the Micrologix 1000 and 1100, but if learning today, I would recommend looking at Connected Components Workbench for the Micro800 PLC. See link below.
