l had a house in Cabo Roig (Cristalmar, bought approx 39yrs ago 36.000 Pounds) Back then, at the junction turning into Cabo Roig (to the beach) there was only a Pottery Shop on the corner, and opposite side of the road, a Ferreteria and one bar on its own, and a large Spanish restaurante bit further up. There was nothing else ! Driving towards Torrevieja from Cabo Roig, there was only 1 Italian Restaurante on the sea side of the road, and opposite a Spanish Restaurante with an old wooden Cart Wheel outside (l wonder if its still there) . That was all there was commercially until you hit Torrevieja. We had to go to Orihuela to pay the Rates in person. (no paying by dd or online) l remember buying beds in Torrevieja for our new house, and l asked if they needed a deposit before delivering the beds. '' Oh your house is in Cabo Roig - Definitely no deposit needed if you live in Cabo Roig'' Now l have a house in beautiful Senija (nr Moraira +Javea ) l must take a drive down and see the changes, although l might be a bit sad
We went to Cabo Roig about six years ago, we stayed at the Rotunda just where you were showing . Loved the beach area wasn't as keen on the strip like more quante areas .
@6:37 The Cabo Roig Inn, used to be an open facing bar with no enclosure twenty three years ago, it was owned by a Spanish family back then and a pint was less than 1 euro with a dish of nuts or raw Garlic as Tapas. This was when the complex around that area was mostly just about finished, a lot of it not though! Had a many beers, coffees and snacks in the old Cabo Roig Inn a long, long time ago.
@qtronicqilt8898 we know some Spanish that do not like the area as they say it's not the real Spain! Can't beat a wee old Spanish bar with free tapas! 😉 Baz
We've holidayed in Cabo Roig over the years but last Autumn we tried down around the Almería and Mojacar areas and liked it a lot. Its a bit cheaper down that way too.
Our apartment is opposite Puccini’s behind the strip. Cabo Roig is always quiet at this time of year. It will always be busy at the hight of summer. Missing that place.
My Anna and I played a few swing numbers with Ramon Climent's house band at La Terraza on Calle del Mar 17 in November last year. A very nice restaurant (with horrible acoustics). Everyone was very friendly and we had a good time. ☺🎸🎹
Just back from Cala Mosca Plaza and it was mobbed and probably the busiest I have ever seen the Dog Beach. Walked through Cabo Roig mid week and it was even quieter
We are from Canada have a holiday home in Los Altos. We love Cabo Roig La Zenia Playa Flamenca Punta Prima etc. Have bin coming over since 2012. I repeat we love it. Love beaches bars watching footy. We come over for summers and Christmas. We are Irish background going back in two weeks can't wait. We understand that places have seasonal popularity Canada is no different. Can't wait to buy a purse for my daughter from the looky looky men.
Hi from Edinburgh. We were there in 2019 and had friends who owned an apartment across from Cabo Roig Inn which we hired for a few days before their arrival then moved to the Playamarina 1 (or was it 2?) for the rest of the stay. Decent bars and restaurants, had good food in most and the bakers across tge other side was great in the mornings. Our local became Smiling Jacks. Is the Australian place Bushwakka still there? Had a few meals in there. Or the Panache restaurant over the bridge across the road? Nice to see Cabo Roig again. Good video, thanks.
Myself and the family went just before xmas really liked it plenty bars and restaurants the pasteleria at the end of the strip is lovely the salmon crossiant is fantastic.Met yourself tilly and the wife in torre on our day out. We cant wait to get back.
Hi Barry just to say that cafe that closed was dreadful. I sat for one hour waiting for someone to notice me. I only really wanted to sit in the shade and I did it for free 😂😂 and Bella Bia is pronounced "Bee Ya" it's Irish for food and of course Bella in Italian beautiful 😅❤ great videos loving catching up. I'll be seeing you guys soon.
Being ex bar owners our hearts go out to them and the last thing i would want today is a bar.Remember when we came 26years ago the two things we were told to buy the freehold and not a trespaso and joking apart we were told to take a compass with us to make sure it got the winter sun as without it you are on a hiding to nothing. If you do have a bar you have to have something special to get the punters in as by the time you have paid your social, electric, water and all your other bills you have got to sell a lot of Cruzcampo to pay for it and squirrel a bit away for you winter months. In the end we sold the freehold on and started property management a lot better them owning a bar and it's alright seeing the properties you mentioned doesn't mean they are going to sell them.A greeting.Venga, mas tarde.
Fitba crap.anyway Barry hope you n yours are minted.we are trying to book a villa aroon there for August. But it’s not easy.could turn that into a couple of apartments 🤔Damm the weather looks brillianto fur February.st paddy’s day will be chocca fur sure.so quite aroon kfc but 17th.quality wee Donnar.graffiti still everywhere tae.when we retire it might have to be a fixer up😲
Nice beach but that is all it has. A tacky strip and if you like sitting out having a drink or meal please be aware. Theres a dual carriage way runs through the middle of it. Mainly Irish. Not a holiday destination im afraid.
I suppose it depends what kind of holiday you enjoy. Some people love it, others don’t. It’s a great little strip with lots of choice of restaurants and bars. The dual carriage way is next to it but not right on it, there’s a separate one way slip road in between. And a walkway bridge to cross over to the other side.

You can still get a beer and tapas for €2 in coastal towns between Cartagena and Almería.

It's nice and busy on the strip in the evenings at the mo 😉👍
When you were looking at property prices this reminds me of 2007 the only thing is that they were cheaper then just before the bubble burst
Cabo Roig St Patrick's day parade is the biggest one in Spain. The biggest one in the world is in New York.

Enjoyed the video

Thank you so much. Have you seen this.

You’d have to be nuts to pay those property prices. Dream on sellers!
