Great explanation as always Jim! If I was allowed to wish for one more masking tool, it would be a color range mask. That would make the masking toolbox pretty complete.

thanks much Andreas and yes that would be great to have too, maybe in the future! (fingers crossed)

Lots of great ideas to try, Jim! Can you do some videos that show how luminosity masks can help in images that don't have a sky or clouds? (Or are other tools more effective in this case?)

Thanks Carl and yes it would work fine in those images too, since it masks based on various light values, and each image will have some highlights, midtones and shadows. I can see if there is a good demo image for something like this. Thanks!

Thanks Jim for this video on using Luminosity Masking for colour control. I think the Luminar Neo Luminosity mask is one of the easiest to use, especially thanks to your clear explanations.

Awesome edits using some new goodies from Skylum. I know your water already looks amazing (and likely the reason) but was just curious if you'd given any thoughts to water enhancer tool here? Thank you for sharing.

thanks so much and I didn't see any reason to use Water Enhancer on this one, as I liked it the way it was quite a lot already

Hi Jim, I still have a question. I like to save one or the other edit as a preset. Unlike in Lightroom, the NEO luminance masks are probably not adaptive, i.e. they are not recalculated when used in a preset but are adopted one-to-one. Although this leads to exciting results, they are not really useful. Do you know whether there is a workaround for this or whether Skylum is working on a solution?
    Best regards,
    Andreas

Thanks Andreas and you are correct about that, but no I do not know of a workaround, or if there is an update planned for that. But I continue to ask them. :-)
