your videos are amazing, it helped me become a professional photographer, the only thing Luminar Neo needs is a sub-category for exposure for each tonal areas ( i don’t want to keep using the curves tool or the luminance mask all the time) and i think Luminar Neo needs to add a new colour (Color) tool to bring back the original colour (Color) that was lost.
The great thing about your videos is that we are well informed before the new versions are released and can then easily find our way around the new tools. What's even better is that you don't leave it at that, but go deeper and deeper into the topic. Today's episode was again very interesting and inspiring. Thank you very much for that!
Wow! I must say you are one of the very few UA-camrs who know how to actually use Luminar Neo. Others just go crazy on the sliders and make the photos look worse than the original. Thanks for taking the time to explain Jim!
Though the original dark and uninspiring image might be a throw-away, it had enough potential to be turned into a keeper! I always enjoy your videos where you turn a regular 'blah' vacation photo into something worth showing off. I'm sure this'll inspire many others as well!
G'day Jim Absolutely brilliant transformation of a snap shot into a beautiful photograph. Thanks for showing us your steps and explaining the tools. I can honestly say that your 'snapshot' now is far better than any of my photos 😢. Well Done 👍 Greg
Thanks Jim for another great video and your demonstration of Luminar Neo's features. I purchased the program about a year and a half ago and it's been my go-to for photo editing ever since. Looking forward to seeing and learning from more of your videos. Subbed.
Nice tips Jim, thanks! I wouldn't do a "long exposure after the fact" where people and cars are not static objects in your frame. But nice tips on how to do or enhance the effects!
Luminar Neo should have an update where we can see all the pictures we're editing on the side just like Capture One. Where we can scroll to check/select any pictures.
color -- mauve = mowve as we Canucks learned to pronounce it as in mow the lave and the sound vuh but softly so the uh part is not emphasized. Oh, I have just started the tutorial but I wonder if this image maybe the single image HDR would make a good startling place to see where the software would go. Maybe small adjustments from there would be sufficient. Really good tutorial on how to make use of so many of the tools available in NEO.
When you changed the angle on the water it looks like you introduced some odd, jagged looking discoloration at the bottom of the image which seemed to change somewhat as you progressed with the final editing but was still visible at the end.
Excellent video as usuall Jim. Can you tell us about your camera and lens details for this photo. It looked very sharp edge to edge. Wondering whether you used Tripod? And why do you call it "Snap" like you took it with a cell phone or something?
Thanks much. This was shot on a full frame Nikon, f/13 for 1/100 sec ISO 200, 48mm. It was taken about 12 yrs ago so I don't remember all of it but I don't think it was a tripod mounted shot. That's why I call it a snap. I believe I was walking by and just snapped it. No real plan, no filters, etc. Just a quick snap. Thanks.
A bit disappointed with the luminosity mask, not sure if it's the program or my PC. The masking is very pixelated. Tried the same shots on on1 and it was fine.
I am bothered by the sky having a different hue of blue than the water. I understand that you are demonstrating a technique, not showing an example. I can put the blue where I want to.
Yes fair point and as you state this is a demo of what you can do. There are additional things I would likely do to finalize the image but this was a demo of what is possible with the new tools. Each image requires it's own little adjustments to make it work, for sure. Thanks for watching.

thanks much, glad to hear that I could help and yes I do expect more tools and advancements to come, hopefully in some of the areas you mentioned

thanks so much Andreas, I appreciate that!
I really appreciate your showing us how to use Neo's tools, thank you, Jim.
thank you for watching!
Nice editing. I learned a lot. You inspired me to go back and take a longer look at what I considered throwaways. Thank you so much.
thanks so much and glad you found this useful!

Nice tutorial on some of the new features we got in latest update. Thanks for sharing Jim.
thanks for watching Ron!

Great example of how to use the new tools.

Greg
oh thanks for the kind words Greg, I appreciate that!
You know Jim, in my opinion Inner Light is one of the unsung heros of Luminar and has been for quite some time.
totally agree, I use it on every vignette and absolutely love it - it's a game changer for the vignette tool for me

Oh, that tip using was terrific! When the reflections popped into view, beautifully blurred, I almost gasped!
haha, awesome Theo and thanks, glad you liked that tip!
Great stuff as always Jim. Thank you for making these videos!!
thank you for watching Steve!
Thank you Jim, another 10/10 tutorial. 👍😎
awesome, thank you!

thanks much and yes, just an example of what you can do to change things up a bit 😁
Great video ,I will be trying all these tips tomorrow
thanks for watching!
Excellent work through Jim using the latest Luminar Neo update. Just shows what you can do to transform an image these days.
thanks so much Ken!
As usual, it was quite helpful. I often have photos that did not come out how I wanted them. The new tools give me a way to save them.
glad to hear you are liking your results!
What a transformation! So nice!
thank you!
this last upgrade is really great, Thx Jim
thanks and yes I like it a lot too!

Yes, I def recommend taking your time and ensuring you get the result you want. Just showing ideas here about what is possible. Thanks for watching.

thanks Jim, nice demo!
thanks Kit!
Nice, subtle effect. I need to try to keep from overdoing the sliders. No Golden Hour? 🙂
thanks and no golden hour this time but I do love that one for sure
Jim, I have a few photos I took last week that are blurry. What can I do in Luminar to improve photo? Thank you.
Well, depends on how blurry. You can try Supersharp but otherwise you might be out of luck.
@@JimNix It helped a bit but not much. Thank you for the suggestion.
@@dannysluxurycruisevacation8812 yeah no worries and I don't know of any app that can fix a serious blur, sorry
"I might surprise more than a few, but I'm back to film photography."
You're not shooting digital now? I never got into film but maybe someday.
Thanks useful video
thank you for watching!
Have you notices the new logo looks very much like the Walmart logo?
haha yes lots of folks are saying that
We all have a boatload of blah photos. What could be hiding in those files?
yes exactly, probably some good stuff!
A bit disappointed with the luminosity mask, not sure if it's the program or my PC. The masking is very pixelated. Tried the same shots on on1 and it was fine.
Hmm, that is odd and not something I have seen on my end. Perhaps check with their support team in case there is some setting you can adjust?
wow!😍
thanks!
