Awesome project, Charlie! I’ve been looking for a cheap 7-10” touch display to use for a StreamDeck alternative (using Touch Portal). This build looks like just what I need!

cool! can you make a 20+ inch version w/ a full hdmi input and a dc port so it can be powered by a v-mount via dc-to-dtap cable?

An idea for a revision, since you have the two batteries, could you design the case to hold the plug aligned and captive and swap the batteries like a cartridge?

I've been looking at something similar lately, love this project. Looks simple enough, might be a fun thing for me to tackle lol

    Hi,
I recently watched your video on how to build a DIY camera monitor, which was super inspiring! I tried to set up a similar monitor for my Lumix S5, but I'm running into some issues, and I was hoping you might have some advice.
    My Setup:
    Camera: Panasonic Lumix S5
Monitor: Padarsey 5-inch touchscreen (800x480 resolution)
HDMI Cable: Gold Micro HDMI to HDMI 2.1 spiral cable (supports 8K@60Hz, 4K@120Hz)
Power Source for Monitor: USB power adapter (tried both wall and battery bank)
    The Issues:
When I connect the monitor to my laptop, it works perfectly with no problems.
But when I connect it to my Lumix S5, I encounter the following:
At 4K 4:2:2 10-bit 24fps, the monitor displays an image, but the scaling is incorrect (it looks zoomed in, and parts of the frame are cut off).
When I increase the framerate beyond 24fps (e.g., 30fps or 60fps), the edges get cut off, and there’s significant flickering and artifacts.
    What I've Tried:
Adjusting the HDMI output settings on the Lumix S5.
Testing different power sources for the monitor.
Using the HDMI cable with other devices (like my laptop), where it works fine.
    Questions:
Is there a way to fix the scaling issue with my current setup?
Do you think an HDMI downscaler or signal processor could solve this? If so, do you have any recommendations?
Are there any settings on the Lumix S5 or the monitor that you think I might be missing?
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for the inspiration, and keep up the great work on your channel!
    Best, Marcel

Wait, you built the junk ass wood frame for the video… because you built it after the pla frame first, although you edited the video differently… why?
