@Johnl4206-I don't think there's anything that Richie Castellano CAN'T do musically! At least when it come to rock. He's one of those musicians like Neal Morse, Kerry Livgren, Trevor Rabin, etc., that doesn't seem to have any limitations on what he can do.

@@MalEvansUSA I didn't know anything about any of that. I can never remember the names of any of the other Geeks. All I DO know is that BOC had Richie's wife join them to sing on one of the songs when they did the 40th anniversary tour for Agents of Fortune in 2016. I think the song was called Lonely Teardrops.

What I love about this project is that Richie and the guys all very humble, reverent and admiring Yes fans. This is a great fusion of Jon's iconic voice and their superb musical chops; eminently inspired by all the stellar players who've shared a stage with Jon beforehand. This tune radiates so much positivity and the production is absolutely killer. Bravoooo!
I couldn’t possibly love this song more than I do! A triumph. A love the Band Geeks even before they teamed up with Jon, and I’ve been a massive Yes and Jon fan since I was a 14 years old, have seen the band and various “yes” solo acts somewhere around 20 times love. I love, love this whole album. ❤
He's better off without yes. Band Geeks are the greatest backup band ever, and they couldnt have found a better singer. And I get to see Richie twice this year, with BOC and in two days with Jon Anderson!
They certainly are a great backup band, but Jon is far too old to be making music.

Jon Anderson is the one and only voice of Yes. Geeks are a perfect union with Jon miles better than Howe's Yes tribute band.Looking forward to more involved new songs from them.
Saw Jon and the Band Geeks in Boston last night. Wow. Jon's voice is still there and the musicianship of the band was evidence throughout the show.. So glad these two elements found each other.

At 79, Jon still has the pipes to deliver the goods! The Band Geeks are all masterful musicians in their own right. Their collaboration brings the music of Yes back to life. Period! 👊🇨🇦
More energy in this track than all the Mirror to the Sky tracks combined.. Bravo Band Geeks.. Bravo Jon!

I like the songwriting and overall arrangements on Mirror to the Sky a lot, but I wish it had at least half of the energy this track has.

I've had a similar experience....things here in the US are increasingly terrifying, and "Shine On" has made me a lot less sad or scared.

Wow. Those vocals take me back to some of the best YES tunes released. This really reminds me of the Trevor Rabin era.
The Band Geeks is the best to have happened to Jon Anderson since he was sacked of Yes. The guys have talent, musicality and energy in spades (well, their school is Yes, obviously). And Jon is rejuvenated. They all sound fantastic!
Actually ARW was the best thing. I think it gave Jon the confidence to keep going.

That’s a blatant lie. Chris is likely annoyed that Jon is continuing to push against his bands legacy, also the essence of Yes was heard on mirror to the sky.
Masterpiece? You will not find a bigger Jon Anderson fan than me, but even Jon knows it's not a masterpiece. It's a great song at just the right time. Awaken, Close to the Edge, Relayer, Tales from Topographic Oceans are in a class of their own, and this song is not on that level. Not even close. .
Considering that his basic banned lineup of "none YES" originals, I'll call it the way I hear It. And......... As to replicating the sound as close as it is to YES, I'll stand by my opinion.
@@dennismoore9011 If you are merely comparing the current version of Yes with Jon's new band, I would agree that Jon's unit is more energetic and more recognizable in the image of Yes. I believe Steve should have closed the shop after the passing of Chris Squire. Up until that time they were still damn good. But even though he was not an original, Steve Howe’s guitar work in YES in the 70's stands as some of the most brilliant guitar playing the world has ever known. Rolling Stone magazine wrote, "It was the addition of Steve Howe that allowed Yes to find its true identity," He co-wrote with Anderson a large part of what of what Jon and the Band Geeks are attempting to replicate. Steve's time may have come by now but he was essential in the success of Yes. That is really my point here - thanks.

I come from the same area of Brooklyn as the Castellano family. I don't know Richie personally, but I've bought gear from his dad and his grandparents over many years. I could not be prouder of these local NY/NJ guys backing Jon up!
I've been a Yes fan all my life! Jon has such a spiritual way with his music! Whether with Yes, Vangelis, or his solo stuff, there is a thread of hope in most all the music he puts forth into the world. Bless him!

This is every bit as good as I’d hoped (& known) it would be! I’m a Yes fan since 1970, and Jon is just unbelievable 54 years later. He knows he is blessed to have such a great band with whom to keep performing and creating Yes music-while Richie, Andys, Chris and Rob must be over the moon with the honor of being the instruments of this resurrection!

Got to spend some time with Jon many years back, while shooting a little video for their producer (Bruce Fairbairn) who'd just passed away........................what a sweet, kind, quiet human............it was a truly wonderful experience to speak with him......still kicking it all these decades later........

This may or may not make sense to anyone else, but this feels like a band in full flight while the current version of Yes feels like a group of talented musicians who happen to be playing together. Great music. Love it.

@@edbrandt8972 Jon originated most of them on his own before he gave them to Yes to create their great arrangements. Arranging doesn't usually get writing credit but Jon was not selfish about that like Ian Anderson has been with the entire Jethro Tull catalog.

I saw them a few nights. Even better than I thought they would be.
Was at the tour opening show in New Brunswick NJ, going again next week and at least one of the Keswick shows outside Philly in September. Was gonna go to the Reading PA show last year but had car problems. Kicking myself for that, missed the first Gates of Delirium of that tour. They aren't doing that one or Ritual this year. At least not yet.

@@paulhargreaves1497 Had Billy took the baton from Chris using a Ric, the sound would have been better. Ritchie is brilliant for using a Ric. I have a feeling Billy is under an endorsement contract that only allows Spector basses. It's too bad.
