I believe Steve should have closed the shop after the passing of Chris Squire. Up until that time they were still damn good. But even though he was not an original, Steve Howe’s guitar work in YES in the 70's stands as some of the most brilliant guitar playing the world has ever known. Rolling Stone magazine wrote, "It was the addition of Steve Howe that allowed Yes to find its true identity," He co-wrote with Anderson a large part of what of what Jon and the Band Geeks are attempting to replicate. @@dennismoore9011 If you are merely comparing the current version of Yes with Jon's new band, I would agree that Jon's unit is more energetic and more recognizable in the image of Yes. Steve's time may have come by now but he was essential in the success of Yes. That is really my point here - thanks.
Fun, positive track with that classic 80s Yes influence. The vocal harmonies and snare are dead on. Mix is outstanding. Congrats guys
Absolutely stunning! This is the most authentic Yes music I've heard since . . . Jon left Yes. Really looking forward to the album!
This is beyond incredible! The Band Geeks and Jon are killing it!
Let’s all shine. This is our time.
Jon has fire. You can see it in his eyes. Beautiful and creative soul. Shine on!!
This may or may not make sense to anyone else, but this feels like a band in full flight while the current version of Yes feels like a group of talented musicians who happen to be playing together. Great music. Love it.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING SONG! I'm seeing Jon & the band geeks live in Pennsylvania on june 16... THIS MAKES ME EVEN MORE EXCITED!! SHINE ON!!
sincerely a relatively new yes fan now and forever ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
KILLER TRK - KILLER VOCALS - KILLER PRODUCTION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Extremely impressive. Didn’t think any younger musicians could come anywhere close to classic Yes virtuosity.
WOW .... I can remember my very first concert pack in Pittsburg around 1978 I think. Yes in the round at the Civic Arena. Jon, your voice is a gift to us all and still as amazing as it was decades ago! LOVE this tune!!!
Jon Anderson, a true miracle of time at 79 years old.
Intact and vibrant as always.
If you just listened instead of watched the video you'd swear that was Chris Squire on that Rickenbacker! The band name Yes should be given back to Jon Anderson!
Holy crap!!!!
How freaking great is this?!?!
Jon Anderson has always been ... and always will be ... the essence of YES. Brilliant artist.
I can't stop playing True. A standout album for 2024! I know how talented Richie Castellano is from his excellent work with Blue Oyster Cult (their most recent album The Symbol Remains is outstanding!) but this is another level, almost pure YES.
This is exactly what I've been saying Jon should be doing! If he doesn't have Yes (with either Rabin or Howe) then he needs to assemble a group of great musicians to bring the world 'real' Yes music. I can't wait for the full album. Thank you Jon!!
Jon Anderson Rocks!!!
Ahhhhh! That opening chord! "Don't underestimate the power of the Universe" Jon and Band Geeks are The Signal of Change! Thank you! See you in Hershey.💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
YES!!!!! Gorgeous, lush chords....sung with feather-light taste. Delish!
Unfreakingbelievable!! Yes really *is* eternal. Just need the right people on the bus to keep moving forward. For anyone who worried about Jon teaming up with "a tribute band", this just smashed those concerns. Outstanding original music in the true spirit of Yes. Keep on.
😃 I'm absolutely shining ❤ Jon knows what we truly need at this moment in time. There's a word and the word is LOVE. INCREDIBLE MUSICIANS, INCREDIBLE SONG. NOW THIS IS MUSIC
SHINE ON🙏❤
I can’t wait for this album.
I knew this was going to be great. But this is even better than I had hoped for. May not be "Yes" but it sure as hell sounds like what Yes music is supposed to be!!! Love the Band Geeks and Jon!
I have heard some of the other tracks from the upcoming album and they are even better. There's a true mix of Rabin era Yes sounds and of classic Yes sounds. I think you'll love it. It IS Yes, they just don't have rights to the name.
@@yeswolf1 Richie and I kind of bonded over Talk. I love both versions of classic Yes. He and his father were wonderful to talk to on Blue Dot! Thanks for your affirming comment. Can't wait to hear the entire album!
@@yeswolf1- how does Steve Howe still have the rights to the Yes name with Squire and White gone? I cannot seem to find an answer. Any idea?
That voice!
Nothing can, or will, ever replace that voice for me.
We've got Our Jon Back! We've Got Our (Proper) Yes Back!
The new YES!!!! Jon Anderson Paul McCarty Mick Jagger and Kieth Richards are timeless
Wow, they are so good that if I have listened blindly to this album, I would have guessed that is the original Yes line up... And once again I will say it - Jon is YES, and without him the magic is just not there...
Just unreal, guys, so beautiful and powerful, bravo!
Thank you Jon and The Band Geeks for this music in the spirit of Yes. Hope, joy and a message of universal love in the vessel of beautifully crafted music. It reminds me of Talk and the tremendous musical power in that album. Jon, you surely deserved to have such an amazing band with you! Make it last!
Just re-listened to “Talk” the other day after hearing them cover “The Calling” a few weeks ago
Band Geeks covering Yes with Ann Marie's vocals is also splendid.
Age is only a number. You proved it John, You shine!
Uncanny.......sounds reminiscent and fresh at the same time......and Jon Anderson is almost 80!...........LOVE IT!
Wow!
This really, REALLY sounds great 👍
THAT'S the Jon Anderson I remember!
Long live prog rock! ❤
The awesome Geek Guys were born to be with the awesome Jon Anderson in the awesome Geek Studio with the awesome Ann Marie. The Universe is back in alignment! 🧑🎤👨🎤👨🎤👨🎤👨🎤👨🎤👩🎤🌠
Happy that Jon's still singing, creating so many, many years later. Grateful for The Band Geeks, geeking out with Jon...singing about Universal Love...good stuff mates.
FANTASTIC! Can't wait to see it Live tonight in Chicago!!!
2nd row Im there
Righ on, excellent.
👍👍
This is exactly the blast of fresh air that the Yes albums from the last decade or two have desperately needed! Loving the energy shared by a group of prog musicians making music that is actually uplifting and FUN!!! Great job!
it's great to hear new music from yes vocalist jon anderson and his amazing band geeks. i can hardly wait for the new lp release.
Most excellent!! Seeing Jon and the Geeks tonight in Chicago!🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸!!
