- Hello there! Welcome to Star Wars Oddball, I'm Oddball your loyal wingman. Today we discuss a Rebel Fleet essential, better known as the EF76 Nebulon-B Escort Frigate. This unlikely Kuat Drive Yards design is extremely versatile and the Alliance is lucky to have them making up a good bulk of their battle groups. You let me know what you like or dislike about this vessel in the comments section. Feel free to support the channel by subscribing and like this video if you enjoyed the topic. This actually helped me understand why this ship exists
I’ve wondered the same thing before 😂
The Neb B is a capable ship, but I feel like it's usually shown as the classic Rebellion "fodder ship."
Excellent video
Much appreciated!

Great vid!
Appreciate the kind words! May the Force be with you
Interesting looking Frigate
Interesting, weird, but one of the most versatile and capable!
My favorite canon Star Wars ship. But what makes you think the medical frigate was the most commonly used rebel variant instead of the combat version? In Return of the Jedi Wedge Antilles clearly says "They're targeting the Medical Frigate" Key words the Medical Frigate not a Medical Frigate which means only one of the Nebulon-Bs present was the medical version and according to Wookieepedia there were at least ten rebel Nebulon-Bs present in both the canon version and the legends version of the battle.
I think the Writers of Rogue One underestimated how much damage the ship can take. We see one trading fire with Executor at point blank range during the Battle of Endor and seemingly not taking severe damage from the hits she takes in the exchange. Yes one on one the ISD will win but I think the writers on Rogue One were overestimating an ISD-I's guns or underestimating a Nebulon-B's defenses some.
For sure, there definitely could’ve been more Nebulon assault frigates. I suppose it was an assumption I drew from my research. However, I don’t think they’re as durable as presented in the Battle of Endor. An Executor alone could wipe out most vessels without even breaking a sweat. The reality of that battle is that it wasn’t the only Rebel vessel engaging the Executor, so it definitely had the benefit of not being as big of a priority as other vessels like Home One. I think that Rogue One gives us a clear example of what a well trained ISD is capable of, not to mention that the Nebulon was recovering from the battle it was just engaged with. It was also preparing for hyperspace so it was definitely at its most vulnerable.
Great video how have you been
Thank you! Been good over here. Just trying to make good nerdy content. Also getting into the Warhammer 40k hobby and lore in my spare time! You?
