I can’t imagine thinking that finishing 1st and 2nd in a huge GPP is negative EV.
if picking finishes from a hat, hell yea, give me 1st and 2nd. but a lineup-building process that makes 1st *and* 2nd a likely outcome is likely too concentrated. Otherwise, you're scooping your own EV in that contest.

@@dot3642 Underdog had some rakeback deals in the predraft period, but I haven't seen if they're continuing those or not.
Can someone elaborate on the tax liability he’s mentioning? Is he saying that you can essentially defer the income if you put it in best ball, rather than chasing out?
The vast majority of Shaidy's 3rd place win counts as 2024 income (when the Week 17 prize was awarded). That pushes potential profit to a new tax year instead of adding income to the current one. He had an awesome 2023, making that dynamic pretty appealing.
