- MasterChef Canada S01 E14 Full Episode: Guest judge Joe Bastianich from MasterChef U.S. assembled the mystery box with his favorite Italian ingredients, which included a white wine from his vineyard. The judges revealed that the person with the worst dish would be sent home, in addition to the winner receiving an advantage in the elimination challenge. Kaila won with her stuffed veal loin, while Eric and Tammara were in the bottom two. The judges liked Eric's fettucine, but they felt it was underwhelming. Tammara's veal medallion was nicely cooked, but the dish did not have enough acidity, and the judges felt that Tammara offered two dishes instead of one. As a result, Tammara was sent home. Kaila chose first and selected the scallops, and Marida chose the razor clams, leaving Eric with the Dungeness crab. Eric stood out with his dish. Marida's clams were perfectly cooked, but Michael felt that the dish had too much garnish. The judges liked the various components of Kaila's dish, but her scallops were slightly overcooked, and she was eliminated, setting up a final two between Marida and Eric.

Eric is unintentionally the funniest contestant I’ve ever seen.
Sometimes he's super serious, like he has the same kinda sad expression regardless of what reviews he's getting. And then some other times, he pulls these very meme-able faces, like the moment with the razor clams. And his running around is funny, zooming around at 100 mph.
He is my alltime Fav

@@saifkrid8705 The other judges do as well though, and they manage to act in their role as judges without the obnoxious attitude Joe pulls. The other judges approach it from a position of knowing what the contestants are capable of and expecting them to live up to that. Joe is too in love with himself to show that level of respect.

I started disliking her when she said "Im not worried because im up here and he's down there" when Eric made fun of himself for cutting his hand.
Like, he just has a sense of humor leave the guy alone! Not even the judges got offended by it they though it was funny and the proof is when in the next challenge they said "What do you hope is under the box other than a first aid kit?"
She's the only one that took the joke seriously for some reason lol.

All he said was simple tho lol he doesn’t really agree nor disagree. But tbf it is a simple dish. You’re in the top 4 competing for top 3 in Canada’s top amateur cooking competition and all you come up with is fettuccini ? A 5 year old can boil a box of fettuccini with store bought tomato sauce.

I really like Michael Bonacini because he almost never yells, he judges them politely and he always looks fresh in a suit definitely my fave chef
Here’s the thing, Eric wasn’t dumb when he studied chemical engineering. This man used his chemical engineering expertise and knowledge to prepare the best meals and win Master Chef. Cooking is an artistic form of Chemistry and Eric’s engineering advantage is what got him to win

I like how it’s already top 3 but Eric was still underestimated. At this point it was already too late when everyone realized he was a threat the whole time, always has been. A young lad with passion for cooking and a degree in not just any engineering, but chemical engineering. Name a more dangerous combination than that. They forgot that cooking is chemistry.

She was often supportive of him. He hated her for no reason throughout the season. If you watch everything she was often very nice to him. He was the one who kept saying she is the worst

@@juliar2462 It did kinda show why. It tells so much how she’s always picked last during team challenges, she’d kinda screw something up every time she’d work with a team. Also when she was the team leader, she didn’t own up to her mistake. It was hypocritical when she said Dale was a coward for saving himself, when she did the exact same thing when she got in the same position and she didn’t want to save anyone but herself.
But yeah Eric did underestimate her big time and was mean towards her at times.

I have so so much respect for Masterchef Canada as well as all three of the judges. The way they give constructive feedback and criticism with such elegance and professionalism.

While she thought he was the worst of the three, she knew he was still a threat. Giving him the ingredient he desperately wanted on a cook, this important wasn't smart.

Marida wasn't the best at nothing I'm from Trinidad she took basic dishes and even did them wrong but the judges never ate food like that so they thought it was special which was stupid to me you're a master chef but don't know Caribbean food.

I know people don’t like Kaila, personally I’m indifferent about her, but I really do wish she went to the finale with Eric and not Marida, don’t get me wrong Marida is a great cook, but I didn’t like how she basically always just cooked Trinidadian food or used Trinidadian flavors whenever she wasn’t restricted. Whereas Kaila and Eric were willing to experiment more and go outside of the box. Especially since even in the finale Marida still only stuck with Trinidadian Dishes. It just feels like she didn’t try to challenge herself and it’s weird cause I feel like she never really got called on it like Tamara did but I could be forgetting if she did. But then again even if she did, she kept doing it and nothing else was seemingly ever said to her about it so who knows.

Choosing the scallop which is the easiest and most familiar thing to cook with will either destroy you or praise you or you are just decent, kudos to Marida for choosing sth she never done before and still managed to deliver, she could have chosen the crab cuz even its a strange type of crab but we still know how to cook crab but she didnt, had she chosen it she could have fallen to the pitfall like Kaila. Given the choice to pick first is all about strategic, either breaks you or saves you. Too bad for Kaila she’s my fav cook so far besides Eric

I have never rooted so much to a contestant in my life until I saw Kaila in this season. Man, all her dishes are cooked with so much love and she fought her way until the finals even though she always get stuck in those pressure tests. Also to mention, her character and enthusiasm towards all contestants speak loudly and show how incredible she is as a person.
Congratulations to Eric btw, I also wanted him to win!
