R.Tee actually worked on some blackpink's songs PD, he said that he's most proud of making playing with fire. I also read that this song was also supposed to go to blackpink but he decided to release it under his own name as he is enlisting (or enlisted) in military soon.
Playing with fire is one of my favorite songs from bp. I wish yg ent. Would let bp work with other producers rather than just sticking to the same three: teddy, bekuh boom, 24 for all of their songs (literally *almost* all 13 minus ktl and pwf)
I’ve been wanting to see your reaction to this video. It feels like something you would like by the beat. And it finally came. This song I feel like I would hear it at a club.
My theory is that she is literally a version or a song he made. At the beginning we see her within an instrument, he plays piano and the walls move. He's giving her color (we see it in the outfits and makeup). When the walls break down she meets different versions he started but left behind, but she seems to have made it further, we see her advancing with her dance, expressions of confidence, and backup dancers as supposedly finished product of a concept or an idea. But eventually she finishes her performance, confident shes made it, but when she does she is still left behind. He's not shown as satisfied, and is actually still working on something else, while she's sitting in the corner with all the other songs (girls) that will never leave his studio, and are doomed to never perform for anyone but their creator.
If I'm not mistaken I think this was the first Black Label release, right? These first two releases from Anda and Somi have been tragically timed. Somi was only saved by her massive popularity from two huge TV shows. Hopefully things can get better with YHS and his brother out of the way, but they still have their shares and massive influence. As much as I adore Somi, right now Anda has the better Black Label release imo. Although Somi's one B-side, Outta My Head, is pretty solid. Also shout out to the Giver one of the best kid/young adult books ever. That movie was a fucking tragedy.
anda is not a black label artist. anda is under ygx she was scouted by seungri. r.tee is the black label artist/producer so it was called ygx x TBL collab
It had nothing to do with timing. If Jennie's solo was released same time as this, it would have gotten same reaction as it did last year. She just isnt as popular and its much harder for solo artists compared to groups esp when you arent as known. Plus she has gained way more fans in YGX. Lee HI is charting very great inspire of what is going, and so is somi. At the end if the day, it has to do with fanbase
@@jean2901 no, the timing matters, at least for Anda, when she announced her single release and dropped it 95% of comments from knetz were about how they aren't going to support her because she's not just from yg but from ygx ( Seungri's label) and she received so much hate. I think you can still find those articles and comments, just go to Naver or Nate.
Not sure if it's a one time thing but the way you explained this video is 100 times better than normal, watching the MV 2 times then pausing during the 2nd review to explain each section is so much better.
Unfortunately, this was the only song released since her signing with the black label. Despite her debut in 2012 Anda does not have many songs, she's changed companies several times she used to go by andamiro for a while too. Her existing songs are great especially her collaborations with Primary which are more 80s inspired, but her budget was extremely limited and her videos where nowhere near as impressive they made up for it by making them seem more indie. One video worth looking into is Touch which gained attention due to its lgbtq+ references that are quite undeniable. Honestly all her music is extremely good but she was not managed well her talent has not yet been used to its full potential. The songs she's released have not been able to gather much attention this is actually her most successful song yet.
She's under YGX and unfortunately this was released when the Burning Sun scandal happened. I think that's the reason why it didn't get so much attention because during that time everyone was judging YG artists and kinda boycott them and also Seungri was the CEO of YGX

My favorite thing about "Touch" is that it's basically two different songs story-wise. If you only pay attention to the Korean lyrics, it's a song about heartbreak. If you only pay attention to the English lyrics, on the other hand, it's a song about being willing to get down right away with someone as long as they're willing to commit to being in a relationship.

You really ought to check out the EP she did with Primary if you haven't before, the whole thing is an underappreciated masterpiece. They made an MV for every song too, so you'd probably also really enjoy that. The EP is called "Do Worry Be Happy." It's a very different vibe from this release, it's a synthwavey electronic album.
I think that the story the MV was going for was supposed to show a story of an android who seeks to find emotions, and thus she ventures from the plain technological white clothing to sparkling black clothing to show how she has discovered something more than just being an android. It reflects how in kpop industry, idols like Anda are seen as robots and not as humans.
