I totally understand some people don't like the voice effects, but it really makes me sad seeing how so many people have said it ruined the song or they did her dirty when it's what she wanted. It's the genre of the song, it's what takes it from being a boring typical pop song to something more. I get the genre is older and isn't really popular or known these days for younger viewers/listeners. You don't have to like it but saying it ruined the song, when it's what she wanted, what the genre is, and what makes it be able to convey the feeling she wanted to get across just bums me out. She gave us the 90-00's dance meets disco lofi bop I've been missing and I love her for it
Well, it ruined the song. It's a simple fact. If she wanted to do a ''retro'' music, she should have take some points from Wonder Girls who knew how to do a retro piece.
i disagree with that the genre brings the effects. they could have gone without them and it would have stayed within genre but they chose to do the effects and that's completely fine. there are plenty of people who like it regardless or because of it. i personally don't and that's fine too. i just hope tiffany doesn't get hate for going in this direction because she's powerful and full of potential.
She said it was inspired by the fun creativity the moon in the middle of the night brings out of her when she's writing music late at night or just how it can bring out that let go get lost have fun feeling in all of us, and really wanted to convey it in her song and video. The atmospheric feel of it, instead of focusing so much on insane instrumentals or vocals by themselves helps you kind of just get lost and absorbed in it without having to think too much about it. Almost like being put into a mindless happy trance where you can just breathe and enjoy without anything else going on. Like 1 am drinking and having fun with your friends and just living in the moment kinda feel where you just stop caring and do what feels right at the time without hesitation. "Up on the roof dancing for you under a million stars magnetic moon pulls me to you with your ocean arms" is literally her saying the moon brings that side out of her and she wants the song to do the same for us. From the people I've showed it to most of them loved it right away because we're old and miss that genre, but if they weren't completely sold on it first listen, after listening again knowing what to expect they enjoyed it a lot more and everyone agreed she did a great job getting her message across and creating something that you can truly lose yourself in. We love a queen who makes whatever she wants instead of going for always the same sound or what's "popular" now. We love a poetic versatile queen
I also think that Kpop idols are much better performers than lots of Western singers. They not only excel on dancing but they've also been trained to own the camera.
Well of course, even some western artists are better than some korean artists, performance wise. But I think its like a FACT that K idols are better at dancing since they focus on that, they focus on being well rounded. Props.
9:45 what you said around here, started to make me cry. I’m Chinese born in America and I’m agree of what you said that Tiffany is really empowering and inspiring Asian Americans.
also she did say in an IG post if i'm not mistaken that it was kind of like a tribute to her favorite divas. and it definitely gave me some madonna and britney vibes
I honestly really loved this song. I think she’s paying homage to some older pop motifs, and I quite like what she did with this song. I think a lot of people criticizing it are don’t appreciate that era of music, which is fine, but there’s no reason to say some of her creative choices are shit because it’s not your taste.
I love that she took everything she learned while being in SNSD music and MV production and applies it to her American career so far. The influences here are very apparent, with Sailor Moon, Old Hollywood and Lady Gaga rolled up into one neat little package. Also, gotta love the Lion Heart throwback choreo. I still don't get how people hate Tiff's vocal processing in this song. It conveys an ethereal, spacey feeling and it's what she was GOING for.
she gave me strong audrey hepburn vibes in terms of fashion and the soft dreamy echo-y effect brought me back to late 90s to early 2000s ~ the visuals and the sound brought my mind back to my childhood and i think thats really wonderful :)
This is from my second listen and the chorus aside i love everything. It's not exactly a throwback but has a very sultry pulling vibe (cue title) which is brilliant. About the MV itsh simply love. As always thank you PD for your breakdown and thoughts.
I'm still sad you didn't react to the runaway mv because it was absolutely gorgeous but I wanna thank you for doing this one, Fany's creative vision really needs to be recognised and this song is amazing
It’s without a doubt her best music video to date and I also think this is actually my favorite song from her too (yes, even with the voice distortion. I dig it). She really went all out for this one.
I freaking loved this song/video so much. I love the throwback vibe I get from it. First listen I instantly thought of Cher lol. Hope she releases more music similar to this 😋
My heart melted at how you praised tiffany all thoughout video. I am seriously happy and proud that a pd as reliable and unbiased as you recognizes tiffany's ability and talents that others sleep on. Pls keep on looking forward to tiffany's future releases and like you, we also hope that she would rise up in the american entertainment industry. I hope tiffany watches this video im sure shed love it! And, can you try reacting to JBJ95's mvs? They are talented and i hope people would know more about them :)))
I don’t know if it’s just me, but this song reminded me of Taeyeon’s song Signal. Both have similar vibes and voice effects and both are one of my favourites in their discographies.

Yo, can you Give yenny Ha:felt some love and react to her short video for her new song Happy Now? My fave wonder girl needs to reach more audiences and hopefully you can a help her a bit through your channel. Cheers She should be as popular as Sunmi or even more bigger! I just don't really get why she isn't which is kind of a bummer
She's selling her celestial fantasy and I'm totally buying it, she's so unique and I love her for giving us her heart and her soul instead of "what we want".
I am in love with this song. It's beautiful and sensual, but still something you can dance to. Very diva/disco. It reminds me a little of Heartbreak Hotel.
this was an amazing comeback with an amazing song and amazing music video, but i personally think her runaway music video’s cinematography is way better and more breathtaking
i really like the song and the video. on the set where she sits on the ledder in front of the moon, i would have loved if she sat directly on the moon. it would look beautiful. and the silver dress reminded me of a 80 disco outfit lol. if you google 'Britney Spears silver dress' this is maybe what you meant
I got big Britney Spear vibes like form her toxic era or around that time with the outfits and she owned this and I wish America would get she's amazing and all of K-pop is amazing and that language should not be a barrier
Thank you for breaking it down for me.. When I first saw the music video I thought... "OK, Great. Tiffany is dancing and I like it.. " Then, I heard the music all the way through and I wasn't extremely happy. The songs is a "Lite fluffy" dance song.. Nothing stands out to me.. Almost elevator dance music. But after listening to your review and watching the video a few more times. It does creep up on me. To where I do like it and will purchase it ( I love supporting Tiffany). You were also trying to figure out the inspiration? You were thinking Britney or Christina.. I was getting more of a Kylie Minogue feel..... What do you think? Thanks for the review.. You have a new fan...
This song is so good but it sounds exactly like mixture of Tame Impala's Let It Happen and The Less I Know The Better! Still it's her best song so far! 💓💓💓
Tiffant is a star! She is great preformer. I feel like she is slowly finding her way through the american market to find a style that is her's. I know the best way to become good at something is to copy the people who have done it before, which is what I feel tiffany is doing. Her inspired outfit, makeup and styling is inspired by previous big popstars. I feel she is particularly following a lady gaga style fashion. While she looks good, I am waiting for Tiffany to find her own element. Until then, some of what she has releasing is nothing new or making me go "this is it". I still think Tiffany can never go back to Korea as a soloist (or for a long time). She was outcasted by koreans for her flag scandal. Even when she has recently returned with her korean fanmeet, knetz still ripped into her :( In soshi's 10th anniversary+post members leaving news, people really disliked her being part of the group and celebrated her leaving korea. I honestly believe Tiffany would have stayed in Korea as a soloist, with her niche "more american" style of music. But I am glad she left. She does have what it takes to start building a good career in america.
Essem only tries to make Taeyeon successful. I can't tell you all, but Fanny is an unfair case. Fanny returned to America after not being active in Korea for 3 years. And now in Essem, we're keeping Fanny in check. They're not allowed to hold concerts in Southeast Asia or Asia. Taeyeon's going to concerts, so she's doing. That's why I like Fanny Song much better, but Koreans only listen to Taeyeon's songs. By the way, Tiffany was the original tower when she made her debut.
Tb really really honest....i really want to love tiffany's solo releases...i love her so much....but her rcent songs are just so boring, the songs itself are so not interesting and feels outdated(does not feel like a throwback...just outdated).
Well you’re entitled to you opinion but this song was purposely made to sound like a 80s/90s dance track. You should check out her EP Lips on Lips, the whole thing is very personal and beautiful
no she can don't worry but North America is a bigger market anyway and it's her dream to be a pop princess, also she is staying 3 weeks in Korea this August girle knows what she is doing
Honestly, tiffany has been challenging herself with every release and I'm absolutely here for it.

We know that she is a fantastic singer and performer so I don't mind the effects
@@slanis wow it's almost like there's more than one older genre of music and wonder girls "retro" songs only tackle some of them
She looks like the icon she is in this music video. I just wish America would recognize her as one.
I've heard other reactors say that this song has a hint of early Lady Gaga and I have to agree.
if am right its the same producer so its understandable
Shane Brannon I instantly thought the same thing. Even some of the dance moves are reminiscent to Gaga’s dancing
I see a hint with lady Gaga, Sunmi and Britney Spears
its definitely alluding to lady gaga; the dancing, loose nude colored clothing, and the face mask are all what lady gaga is known for.
I thought the whole thing was a homage to Lady Gaga. Music, the dance moves and especially those costumes.

Of course. That's the main point of kpop groups and idols
N P they must not sleep on dua lipa
I agree, but I think lately more western artists are starting to dance and focus more on their performances (maybe it's even because of kpop's impact)
9:45 what you said around here, started to make me cry. I’m Chinese born in America and I’m agree of what you said that Tiffany is really empowering and inspiring Asian Americans.

*TIFFANY YOUNG IS A QUEEN* end of discussion.
The voice effects gives me chills deep down my spine. Her best song so far.
That outfit actually reminds me of ABBA
Yes, exactly what I thought!
OG
I mean, it is a disco inspired track so it fits.
Christina Aguilera too
OMG YASSS!!!
I actually fell in love with the music and mv the moment I watched. I love how Tiffany challenges herself with different genres. We love our queen.

I liked the guitar (?) in the song a lot; it reminded me a lot of Tame Impala type songs, which is genre I think Tiffany excels at.
