Great find on the clock. I grew up with that same clock in the living room above the console stereo. Almost every picture growing up that clock is behind us. I grew up in the 50s and 60s.
Definitely late 1950's. They just have to tighten screw in center to secure the loose hand.
As a former framer, and if you didn't already know, that frame (with the embroidered work) can be retouched with wood stain color or wood paint markers. -We saved many vintage frames that way. Just touch up and run with your finger or cheesecloth to blend.
I love the frame. Matches the subject.
There is a product found at big box hardware stores called Howard’s Restor A Finish that really does make scratches go away. I refinish furniture and smaller wood pieces and it works really well. Toy can also purchase a product called wood salve that can bring a dull finish back to life.
That “bee picture” frame screams 70s! I love it.

Very easy to fix clock. Just buy new clock hand kit and replace it. They aren't expensive. And sometimes you can keep the same hands on clock. Just depends how it's put together. That's an awesome clock.

Hi Matt and Kayla! Big fan of both of your UA-cam channels! I went to a garage sale the other day in Clearwater and ran into no other than Paul the Philly Phlipper! He was so nice and super cool, and I'll admit I got a little star struck and instead of saying "Hey Paul" I said "Hey it's the Philly Phlipper"! It was such an amazing experience for me and just when I thought that was the highlight of my day, I ended up buying the coolest find of my life at this sale! Amazing piece of history! The problem with moving is the unpacking and finding places for things to go.

Worst come to worst, you can put a modern clock motor in the clock. It is worth it, and not difficult or expensive. I've seen a UA-camr restore one that was in worse shape. It's a classic! I think the word you were trying to read, about the owl, was "spalted", not burl. That is the term for the dark areas on it.

I’m glad you found that wooden rooster box. I got one from my sister a few months back. She was moving and was gonna throw it away (she doesn’t do garage sales) I RESCUED IT!!

The characteristics of the wood that the owl is made of is known as spaulded. I have a top of spaulded maple on my dressing table. excellent.

Fab clock keep it. Super easy to fix . Most times when the hands are loose like that they literally just need to be popped or pushed back into place and tightened up and a battery change and you should be good to go. Even if the unit isn’t working, you can buy a new little unit for like seven bucks. If it goes with your new house, 👍🏻those are not ,at least where I live ,very easy to come by.
