3 weeks in, 15 pounds down. Trying to keep working towards my goal. I’ve used food to be happy for so long, I want to actually be happy and live my life.
🎯❤ down 2 stone by following your advice.... this is after years of being misinformed by professionals. It is so appreciated that you break the process into manageable tips. My biggest challenge was thinking of the road ahead and that the only way to loose was to always be motivated. I had thoughts of shame and disgust that I wasn't always 'ra-ra let's do this" to the end. Thank you for saying motivation wains--and thats okay--and that it is the action taken after motivation wains that is important. I never understood that. I'm tearing up... I just thougjt I could never loose weight, never reach my goal and that those who do must be better, stronger, and more serious than me. And now I'm bawling. ... part 2 please❤
🎯I am 66 years old and trying to lose weight with intermittent fasting and a 1200 calorie diet. I have about 13 lbs that I would like to lose. I stay in my calorie deficit and walk an hour a day along with 20-minute yoga. I have one day a week that I have eaten about 200 over my calorie limit - my splurge day and also to help unstuck my metabolism. I know my age is against me but I have been serious and very committed doing this about 6 weeks, but I am not seeing the scale move, I must be doing something wrong. I have dieted on and off all my life and was always successful and could lose weight know problem, but this is very discouraging. I am searching constantly for answers on the internet, but I am at a loss at what information I should trust to go with. I love your videos and they are so motivating and helpful. Weight has always been an issue for me, I appreciate you sharing your weight loss journey and success with us. Thank you Carla.
I have difficulty losing weight since menopause, and have spent 7 years trying and failing. I find I have to give up sugar and fruit (to lose weight and help with cravings) but which also seems to help with hot flushes. I like what Carla says about 'this is the time for calorie deficit'... To me this means no cheat days.. when maintenance time comes, then you can eat more intuitively and such.. This has been a real game changer for me. Like she says, this is the time for calorie deficit, otherwise you'll be dieting forever (which has been so true!!! with my cheat meals and my attitude 'well i can't 'not eat sugar/fruit' forever') But when i think of it as giving it up for this certain amount of time...that is when i stuck to it and have lost weight..I'm halfway to my goal. ..Well she says it better but this has really changed my approach and helped so much! Losing weight again! 🙂
You are a Rock Star Carla. I’m at 55 lbs lost. I’ve been at a plateau for the last 2 months or so. But I think I’ve gotten back on track. I lost 3 lbs. this week. Did some hard core intermittent fasting and have picked up my exercise and walking again. I know walking was a big component of your journey. I also am shooting for that now. Thank you Carla!
Everything you’re saying is common sense. Simple. Realistic. I suspect a lot of us trying to lose weight instinctively know these things, but we need to hear someone say it out loud to make it ‘real’. I really enjoy your videos, thanks!
I am reaching the end (ish) of my joyrney to goal weight and after watching another video you made about rewarding yourself I ordered myself a lego set I've been wanting for ages for reaching 12 stone. And when I go below a bmi of 25 I am going to take a day off work to build it and I am not going to feel guilty. I can't wait :)
🎯 yes! I’m nine months in and I’ve built all of these ideas into my process. Wish I’d seen this video when I started! But good to know I’m heading in the right direction. Love your content always so helpful, reassuring and engaging. 🇨🇦 ❤️
Extremely helpful tips! I too struggle with portion size & am only now ( after watching months of your videos- thank you!) am able to have half of the portion I used to think I had to have. I discovered most of my “craving” was not truly for food, but for affection.
🎯 I'd love to know more about routine building. Right now I'm building one but I get anxiety over situations that aren't there (holiday gatherings, an outing with a friend) but they would brake my routine. Thanks for the video!
Thank you. You look amazing. It’s been a journey even losing 15 pounds. It’s a bit harder after 60, but absolutely doable. I play games with myself so I like the idea to check in with myself to see what is really going on before I feel I deserve the whole pot of soup. And routine, that’s a hard one, I just have to prepare ahead. Cheers!
I'm the goal setting champion of the world! 😊 I agree taking the whole amount as one goal is overwhelming for me too. I set mini targets and super mini targets. I'm less than 1kg off being back to where I left off 2 previous diets. Routine, however, me and routines are not friends. I cannot be consistant in any part of my life. That's a personality thing with me. I set rules rather than impose routines. I'm very strict, but how I go about the diet is random. I wake up sometimes 8pm, sometimes 5am. I eat breakfast at 8pm sometimes 12 midday. The rule is, to fast when I wake up as long as I can and either don't eat dinner or eat a very small meal for dinner. That's working so far. First time I think I'm going to get back to normal weight. I know I would do better if I were consistent, but I have to live in the real world, I know i'm incapable. I keep watching to see if there are any tips you may have I can use. Thanks for sharing your tips with us.🤗
🎯 Very helpful tips Carla! Thank you. I'm down 45 pounds thanks to your videos and Body Slims. 30 more to go so yes please to a part 2 and 3. 😊 I love the reward idea. Congratulations on selling out the beautiful journals. Can't wait to order one. I was a bit too slow on the first round. 🖤🖤🖤
Watching your video last year on Making Weight Loss More Rewarding was a game changer for me. Thank you for all your incredibly helpful and insightful videos, Carla. 🎯 ❤❤❤
🎯I did break down my weight loss goal into monthly goals and this has really helped me! I am not so overwhelmed and I find I am more focused in a good way. Yes, please do a part 2, 3, etc🥰
Thanks carla! Can you talk more about the types of rewards you treated yourself to throughout your journey? I’d completely forgotten about the need to reward myself so thank you for the reminder 🙏🏻🎯❤
This is absolutely the best video you have ever made that I’ve hear. Why, because you are so specific and clear. And it’s better than most other weight loss videos posted, is because you are so specific and detailed. Thank you for this video!! 🎉 I’m so happy for your success in your life change. You inspire me! ❤🎉❤
🎯 Thanks, Carla. Wonderfully helpful video as always. 😊 Made a commitment to walk every day. I am taking it one day at a time. It feels like that will be the best way for me to get continual consistency and improvement. Learning how to plan meals for the week (vs looking in the fridge/pantry and grabbing some food) will be the next little “improvement challenge“ for me.
🎯🎯🎯 Great video! For me recording my food as I eat it and also planning meals, as you've said before treat it like a financial transaction, the calories are like money, how much I have to spend. 🖤🖤🖤
Thank you so much Carla. Your videos are so transformational for me. Please keep your wonderful work going. It is so incredibly helpful while waiting for BodySlims in January. I have been listening to your videos multiple times.❤
You're georgeous and I love your tips. I weigh 190 lbs, aiming to lose 40 lbs. I will follow your tip and think of ways I can reward myself for every 5 or 10 lbs I lose. I also want to build more muscle and do weightlifting as I am naturally large boned and muscular. I was 194 lbs and I've lost 4 lbs so far in one week just from eating healthier, drinking apple cider vinegar before every meal, and having a short walk of 20 or 30 mins once or twice a day. Much love & blessings 🙏🩷

This video was a huge help. I’ve watched it twice now. This time I took notes.😅 My bad knee turned on me during the beginning of this second BodySlims round for me and my doctor told me no more walking. I hated walking at first but came to love it. It’s been a huge disappointment. I miss my walks immensely (and all the pups I had gotten to know on my walks). Anyway, not nearly as much weight loss as I envisioned and mentally struggling. My self talk has been horrible and I’ve been wondering why I’m putting myself through all of this. Anyway, thank you for the video! I would love to see more like this! 🎯⭐️🖤😉
🎯 I love the idea of treating yourself whether non scale or milestones victories! Carla, it would be really great if you could dress up/down a few staple garments to help get through the weight loss process, as I’m struggling with what to buy? Have a fabulous week and thank you for all the help and advice you share! Laura ❤❤❤

I have now passed the 300 pound mark and am starting to experience various health problems (breathing, walking, sleep apnea etc)
I feel that I am missing out on this last stretch of my life
Any extra suggestions would be so appreciated- I’m just so tired of this life
