A lot of people complain about the latency problem, I had the same issue until I realized that I was using this pedal completely wrong. In case that your using mono plug into the left input and the left output, if you,re going stereo it would be recommended to plug your main rig/amp into left output and the one that is for the stereo effect with the right; this will cause kinda of a doubling effect. If you use this pedal correctly you won't hear any volume drops and latency issues (except for some reason the vibrato effect :/)
Looks like a great pedal from someone on a budget who wants to explore various modulation pedals and not break the bank here. Great video Ryan, keep up the great work !
I have this pedal and it has two major problems: latency (audible) in some effects, and a volume drop that is totally random. Some effects are just too low and others are higher than clean signal. I don't know why there's not a volume knob. And for the effects you can control brightness, you'll probably turn the knob all the way otherwise you'll end up with volume drop that is unbearable. I mean, even in max configuration you still lose high frequencies and when you turn on the effect you will notice the volume is too low.
As with all modulation effects, less is more. I think of modulation as a kind of 'seasoning' sprinkled on the main sound. So l would listen to each setting to hear what it does - then adjust the level/mix down to where it sounds good.
I love all of the effects and I think it's great to have so many different sounds but I think they could have added a delay and a digi-tech whammy effects as well. Then you would have had the ultimate pedal. I just picked this up and looking forward to trying out. Thanks for the demo Ryan it was helpful in understanding what the effects can do with the rates and controls.
@@RyanLuttonAre you able to get this octave mode to perform a full octave above or below? I have tried this and even when cranking the knob as far as it goes, it is always just barely short of a full octave and sounds out of tune. Also did you experience Volume drop? Mine has noticeable volume drop. Not sure if mine s faulty. Thanks!
People say there's a huge volume drop on most of the effects. Do you recommend a boost pedal or is there a better way to handle that on the Joyo Vision? Thanks
Yes, there is. It's totally random. The effects you can control brightness you need to move the knob to 100% otherwise you'll lose too much high frequencies that you'll note a volume drop. Others have a gain boost that you can chance because this pedal doesn't have a volume knob.
in a way yes :) if you use your modulations in the same area on the pedal then yes.. its good each side has different effects its basically two multi modulation fx pedals in one unit
I've noticed something very strange with this pedal. When it is turned off, I can see a red led blinking inside this pedal. Have you guys noticed the same?
After a bit of a search a while ago I settled on the Blackstar as “the best” all-in-one modulation pedal. Do you have any history with the BS that you could speak to? IMO it’s hard to find an all-in-one that does most of the selections to my liking; may love the phaser but hate the flanger or love the flanger but hate the tremolo. Thanks again \m/
Hi! I loved your demo! I was wondering.... I'm building a stereo pedalboard. I was looking for a stereo octaver. Can you use just Side A which has the octaver but use both outputs so sound comes out from both outputs?? So I can have a "stereo" octaver.
I ordered this pedal to do just this! I play bass and my signal splits at my Deluxe bass Big Muff: one side with fuzz, the other one without. Each signal go to a different amp. Then each of these amps' signal loops go through a Joyo D-SEED II (which has stereo ins and outs) then through tc electronic's stereo Corona (also stereo ins and outs) chorus. When I'll get the Vision pedal, I'll put it somewhere in the effects loop. I am wondering if the signals are different when the pedal's toggle switch is in parallel mode. 🤔 Does "Type A" modulation go to the right side and "Type B" modulation through the left side? Does it depend on the effect that you have selected? Is it a blend of both effects?
Great video, disappointing pedal. Have several JOYO pedals and they are either awesome or awful. More often they are awesome, which is what keeps luring me back to try them again, but crushing when they don't work right (volume issue here) or break immediately like my Aquarius. :(
just got a used one today, has serious latency issues (~25 ms i suppose since its audible) when turned on, even the "dry signal" when depth/mix is turned back to minimum... dealbreaker. anybody experienced similar issues?
Could you re-upload this but with the volume turned down even further? I could still hear a faint whisper. I prefer my pedals dead silent in reviews. Let's me know how well the pedal works when the amp is dialed to 0 instead of 1 as you have it. You were so close.

Best demo of this pedal I've heard on youtube. Thank you! Super helpful.
thanks for the great video! As a broke radiohead fan this really helps :)
no worries! happy to help :)
Great video-that’s a lot of sounds with insane possibilities for combinations......wow.
Thanks for the in-depth sound review.
I've seen a lot of demos on this pedal. IMO, This was the most useful for me. Thanks

Happy to help :)
Nice video Ryan as always!!! 👌👌👌 Thanks for making this awesome content

Good Lord! £80? This is a game changer for sure :)
The octave stuff being tunable is a really nice feature and the ring mod is actually musical haha I was really impressed with this

Do you use reverb in this video?
great demo!
I noticed that some effects significantly reduce the volume of the signal.
Thanks for review! It's great! Does it affect the overal volume, when u turn it on\off?
thank you
Fellas guitar pedals will become more accessible and I love it . This is amazing!
Do you think that it could replace seperate modulation pedals on pedalboards ?

wish there was depth control on the vibrato. but seems pretty good all in all

You should take a look at the Wavelength from Alexander Pedals
By any chance have you tried putting one channel in front of the amp, and the other channel in the effects loop?
I was wondering the same

Will you be doing demos for all the joyo R series pedals?
this is the only one I have in the pipeline sadly.. if you'd like to see more its worth emailing Joyo and asking them to send me some :)
Does anyone here know if it is possible to route one sine in front of the amp and one side in the fx loop?
Has anyone tried this for acoustic guitars? thanks
Does it come with alternate knobs 🤮
But for real great tones papa!)
haha! i've always wanted to put strat tone knobs on a pedal
Is this a guitar effect?????(sorry im newbie😅)
Yes :) these are modulation effects designed for guitar
Yes, but imagine it can be used with other instruments.

The poor man's Terraform?
Wonder why there is no B --> A option :(
Me too. Mooer Mod Factory II has. And you can connect to the Right Out so you get a buffered output. JOYO doesn't. And it lacks a volume knob.
Cause it’s $90
@@inset09 does Mooer can stereo output ?

Ryan, did you have some latancy problems?
no, not that I noticed :)
Ryan Lutton thank you
@@musicboxlisboa I'm noticing a bit in the video. I ordered the pedal, but it is something I'm going to look at when I plug it in.
Darn...I do not have to pay 445$ for a boutique pedal....Does it mess with the bypass tone in an effect loop? I mean the tone sucker effect.
Haven't noticed anything like that :)

@@inset09 What do you do with the volume drop, then? I’m still unsure whether to get one because of that.
If i want tremolo phaser and auto wah in one song then how can i get these three effects at once
You can only get two effects at once, otherwise it would be mode A,B,C :)
will this work on bass?
yes :)
volume is too low
