My Prius c has the same issue when it starts. Making the terrible noise for 15 or 20 seconds then it goes away. No fluids are bad and mechanics can’t find the problem. I’ll do myself and I’m REALLY REALLY hoping that this will work because I’m thinking of salvage this car :( I’m just so frustrated on taking to one place to another and the first thing I get told is the head gasket but they give me no proof of that. @@dair805hi did u fix the issue yet? My car does the same and I’m not sure what it is. Is it the injectors or clogged egr I already changed my spark plugs but didn’t fix this issue.
@@josephmo2594 i have cleaned everything and nothing has worked 😅 I gave up on the car. I’ll drive until it dies. How, I’ll give a tip that has been working for me great. Every time I start the car I give it some gas for the engine motor to start. Then, right away I put it into neutral for a minute or so. By doing that, the rattle noise goes completely away. One the minute has gone by then I put it into park and no noise at all. That has been working just fine. Also, change the coils. That has help the car a lot. The car runs very smoothly and compare to others, it’s too fast 😅. A couple friend hace the same vehicle and I have driven them but mine it’s way faster 😄 maybe because I have cleaned everything and changed the plugs as well as the coils.
@dair805 did you clean MAF sensor or check it? So far, other than head gasket, I've seen possible causes being injectors, egr/manifold, plugs, coils, AND MAF. The egr you can rule out using a putting knife to block the egr flow and see if the problem appears or not. Do you get an error code?
thanks helped me heaps, i had already cleaned egr and car was still running rough, at high load, low rpm, did this and now running much better.

But there was so much labour involved - you could have spraycleaned the EGR valve, tube and the little channels in the intake manifold. 😎
