- Hello Survivor!
Today we are going through all the four spawn locations of WestPoint, Riverside, Muldraugh and Rosewood, to see which one is best for you to spawn in.
This video is inspired by the works of Nurse, MrAtomicDuck, MadMavn, Pr1vateLime, ThatGuyPredz, Spoodle, Retanaru and many more!

I love westpoint because I love hearing "Maybe we can win this."
(I get mauled upon spawn)
I actually had no clue you could get mauled on spawn until it happened and it was my first real run. I was so busy laughing I didn't know what else to do!
Considering when "This is how you died" and I said no for once I'm not doing just combat I'm here to survive.
@@Noah-bi4llone time I spawned right in the middle of a zomboid birthday party . . You can tell how that went lol
@@Noah-bi4ll real.
i like rosewood as a starting point, clearing it and then having it as a safezone for further adventures
Wise words right there
Same but at some point it get too easy and far from everything but it's truly the safest and easiest to clear
@@StormyTrumpJr taking time to clear rosewood first will actually make the zombie population worst everywhere else thus making the "further adventures" harder
Rosewood is great if you are new to the game(haven't been able to survive more than a week, less than say, 25hrs of game time) because it's so accessible by walking. Riverside is actually where I spent most of my early time with the game. The zombie population is technically higher than Rosewood, but considering Rosewood is basically just a single main street with a neighborhood/few POIs attached, the zombies tend to be much higher concentrations than Riverside, where you can pretty much avoid mobs as long as you don't linger on the main street(I've walked from the trailer park to the gated community - basically from one end of RS to the other) without getting followed by a large horde simply by avoiding that main street.
I'd argue that the Construction Site and Firehouse are some of the best base locations between the two towns, with Rosewood also having a few more locations worth using(Nothern Gas Station for instance). On the other hand, Riverside doesn't have as many no-brainer base locations aside from the gated community(arguably the best if you take the southern-most 3 houses, only one gate of entry to block) and the storage lot.
Currently 6 months into a Rosewood run(longest survival time so far) and it already feels like I've looted everything aside from the prison(too afraid to start that). Ill likely start a Riverside Scrap Warrior playthrough next though. As comfy as Rosewood can be, its small and boring enough that I don't think Ill ever feel the need to start a run there again, aside from maybe a Nomad Run(since the loot is so tightly packed in a few places you can just snag what you need in like a week and get moving)
Great info! With the Metal Fences no longer being a viable zombie defense, I don't think I'll base up in the Junk Yard anymore
I have a particular fondness for Muldraugh since I used to play CDDA exclusively and before that it was my preferred start location since it was the first place i got to know the layout of. Currently running a server for a friend who's new and we are living in the fire-station in Rosewood. Weirdly, I've actually been to Muldraugh in real life, though this was way before I knew about zomboid.
Muldraugh, absolutely. The 'suburb' community is super-easy to wall off, and it's very close to a lake, and a lot of deep woods. That will keep you eating well for some time, and let you build up your fishing and trapping. The random sheds around the two story buildings can also get you some generators and good loot if you're lucky. If you're unlucky, the trailer park and two different types of storage are waiting for you down the street. One will definitely have a generator, the other is full of tools. A little further down, you have the bar and the gas station. Super-easy. Could potentially live forever in just that little stretch.
When you're ready to get to rosewood or even march ridge, build a base at the big crossroad. No zombies spawn there, and grabbing a propane torch, welding mask, and propane tanks (also found in the suburbs) you can dismantle the wrecked cars for metalworking skill super-easy.
The hard part is getting a car (gas station, bar, or even church parking lot should have one. Random driveways and the grocer/clinic maybe not). Cleaning out all the one-shack houses and the highway is also a pain, but hardly impossible.
If your goal is 'Louisville,' then you have a naturally route: highway to over the river. Eventually get to Dixie for a 'rest stop' in the gas station on the way to west point. build a base at the abandoned bridge with all the wrecked cars on it near louisville (no zombies spawn), then, cautiously, get into Louisville.
Riverside has the smallest zombie population out of all the towns
I generally spawn rosewood or riverside and then move my way to ekron and then go to mcoy near muldraugh. I usually go to muldraugh because it ha very good industrial buildings and loot and it has loads of stuff for base building. I dont like spawning in muldraugh and westpoint because its a bit hard. also I usually avoid west point because I have already what I need from rosewood/riverside and the loot from muldraugh is pretty good. Westpoint is good all round but I dont stay there that long. I typically skip west point and hit the valley station mall and louisville. In my opinion there isnt a good reason for me to stay to long in west point when louisville and better locations are just a bit more north in/near louisville. West point is good for car hunting. sometimes when I want a cool sports car or something good I will hit up west point because it has loads of ''rich people'' houses. Muldraugh is kind of lacking that because it feels like the poorest town...
Interestingly enough, I learned that Muldraugh IRL is actually quite poor as a town so I guess they modeled it well after the real one. And I agree, I start in Westpoint but almost always head to Louisville within a week or two XD
Zombies be like "oh look meals on wheels!" 3:04
They don’t like vegetables though
One thing to consider is powerlevelling craft skills by combining Life and living TV programs and reading skill books for the first week. For this strategy the best start locations are Rosewood and Riverside- you can quickly loot the school libraries that almost guarantee all the necessary books. Mauldrough doesn't have such luxury and West Point may spawn you too far and require considerable fighting, so you spend too much of the time that you could use for learning.
With the right scheduling by the end of the week you have 6 level Cooking/Carpentery, 4 level Foraging, 2-3 level Fishing/Farming/Trapping. Without investing any single point to these skills during character creation.
wespoint...explanation: LUISVILLE IS VERY CLOSE
I mean, why else would you westpoint haha
My opinion of the starting locations the good and the bad
Riverside, low initial zombie count, houses in the gated community in the west make good temporary base locations, the best looting opportunities for skill books and recipe magazines between the boat club, book store, post office and school, good looting opportunities for building supplies, tools and generators via the ware house and self-storage lots and a VHS Store. Quick river access makes for easy fishing. The bad parts is the best base location (the self-storage lot) really needs a working vehicle to make the best use of and will require the player to bring in almost all the appliances and amenities from outside to comfortably live there. Riverside is also the most remote of the starting locations and has some of the least interesting places to visit around it. I have always moved out by at least late august every time I have spawned there.
Rosewood has I believe more initial zombies than Riverside but a good amount of these spawn in the open field east of the northern gas station and in the woods west of the gated community ensuring the player is unlikely to have to deal with them. The Rosewood fire station is the best base location on the whole map, strong initial security, all the major amenities are on the second floor and can be secured on the first day regardless of starting spawn location. Loot is good for skill books and recipe magazines and plenty of garages for possible building supplies and generators. There are two relatively easy to access gas stations with enough pumps to keep your generator going for years. For those who like firearms once you have a good vehicle Rosewood also has the easist access to additional guns and ammunition from the military surplus store in Doe Valley, the gun store off the road on the far west of the map and the rural supply store in Fallas Lake. You also have the shortest distance to two of the more interesting locations on the map the Knox Prison and the government research facility. The bad is a lack of water for fishing, no VHS store and if you come up short of building supplies and tools no warehouses or storage lots.
Muldraugh has a high zombie count but most of them are located on the highway so a player can stick to the areas outside of there until better equipped. Muldraugh has the second-best base location on the map, the Mas-Genfac Co. warehouse. For those in need of tools and building supplies you’re in luck as Muldraugh has five warehouses and four self-storage facilities inside the city itself, plus there are additional warehouses and McCoy logging corp is right outside of town to give you more supplies including all the logs you could ever need right there for the taking. The bad is a lack of easy access to skill books and recipe magazines, the school has no bookshelves and the book store is right on the zombie infested highway. Speaking of the highway most of the additional looting locations including both gas stations are on that highway. There is also few bodies of water.
West Point has easy access to water, the second-best staring location for skill books and recipe magazines and the best one for firearms, car parts and perishable food. Staring at West Point gives you the best opportunity to clear it before peak population and gives the closest access to Louisville. The bad is the zombie count is massive and really has no quiet areas other than the gun store and Twiggy’s. No VHS store and there are also no ideal base locations within easy walking distance of whatever hellhole you spawn into. I always end up permanently basing up in the factory south of the storage lot, creating a living space in the empty area above the manufacturing equipment, but like the Riverside storage all the appliances need to be moved in from other locations.
Riverside is the best for me. Loot similar to Mauldraugh, second smallest zombie population. Zombie are scatered well. You are near West point and can drive in Louisville from the begining. Only con, nearly no firearms and are quite far from the other cities.
Good video you're very underrated
Thank you!
riverside for a quick start on stability/sustainability, then move to west point to position for the assault on LOO-uh-vole, throwing in over-nighters in muldraugh and march ridge, mainly for the hit vids (one of these runs, i'm going to manage to collect all 25 skills vhs tapes, or die irl trying).
KEvron
I used to like spawning in MD because I spawned there a lot in a multi-player server, thankd to a small safe zone. However, I began to prefer WP in solo or 2-3 player games I hosted because the school is so close to the houses, which aren't far from the small subdivision to the west, which tends to have less zeds. The smallish farmland also makes it hard for them to spawn if you have their spawning concentrated more in urban areas.
[TL;DR] If you get into trouble in WP, just flee west and cross the fields until you're in the clear. Better than smacking into trees were you to flee south.
Really great video as usual ! Yeah I think I love Westpoint spawn too !
Rosewood is probably one of my absolute favorites. It's decent for a long-term survival if you level up your skills sufficiently.
Yep, especially if you get the More Traits mod and find the cannabalism magazine. I've been surviving on zombie meat and canned food for about 6 months now, and have multiple rooms filled with food to last the rest of the year without touching farming or fishing.
I play insanely rare loot with random zombies. I find it best to Always start in rosewood, easy loot, generators, and gas. Then I move out to random location for the rest of the run.
you deserve so much more subs bro, god-tier work, keep it coming
New to the game... got kinda bored from spawn spamming Rosewood, moved to Mudraugh, feels like a different game already
It's really cool. I used to spawn in Riverside and switched to Muldraugh and agree 100% it's like a different game!
Rosewood lacks a VHS store.
I used to do rosewood but there really wasn't some challenge and I just made louisville my main lol
For me there is no favorite spawn location it all depends on my mood and what mods I do have. I can suit the game for my needs and even with the easy to go setup the game can sometime be challenging if I do mistakes or not prepared well. Normally I am seeking places where I can build up bases or just wandering in the wilderness. What I still need to maintin is the farming because I did not touched that part too much even when I already have 500+ hour with PZ. Also not touched the multiplayer yet because in multiplayer I cannot use my stuff what I made or set up.
loo-uh-ville is how it’s pronounced with the local accent
Once you spawn in Louisville it's hard to go back to anywhere else.
I love spawning in the town new jersey
Rosewood for the win lol I’ve never even lefy
ProjectPeAk
Great!
Топовое видео, спасибо, посмотрел много раз
2:36 you mistaken Rosewood with Riverside
Nice vid : )
Thanks!
Rosewood is the easiest spawn with the least interesting loot, then Riverside, then Muldraugh, and lastly Westpoint.
What mod is that wheelchair thing
"should" not being capitalized in the title is killing me!
Fixed it for you ;)
do a moded version please
West point is the best
I thought it was Loo-Ville…
only cowards don’t pick west point (i get brutally mauled to death)
South African?
I am indeed :)
Oil up I paid for server boost 🤤
Second
God no, not the stupid f&&king wheelchair, that was too much in D&D already.
You have to admit it's funny in concept to imagine a survivor doing circles and running over zombies
@@LoinkLoinkwhats the name of the mod
@@KingAlpha-cr2oc I don't know, it's my first time seeing that mod.
West Point was always me and my friends go to spawn location, not realising it’s the hardest spawn location in the game xd
Where is your pants sir
