There is a shop in Gardena,CA. One of these guys worked with Shelby in Venice and is now building some of the most beautiful GT350’s money can buy. His name is Jim Murrieta, which is called the original Venice Crew. They are a Shelby licensed crew that builds some of the baddest Shelby, replicas ever. Starting with a K Code body and they are as close to original as you can get. Peter Brock, was part of that crew. They have built 36 of them...
I recall Carroll the story of getting a call from Hertz after a storm in which a number of GT350H rentals were wrecked, they wanted the cars gone. He also told of H cars being rented then taken to the local track and entered in races. Some apparently were returned with a teal loss of power. It took some time before it was discovered that the renters had swapped out the Shelby 289 for a stock engine. None of them got away with it for long. I had the privilege of talking with Carroll several times, and privileged to be one of his dealers.
Wrong, Hertz Still Rented Shelby Mustang in 1967, 1968 and 1969 - They recently found a 1970 GT350 Hertz car with the paxton locked up in a Garage in Spain.
Love the candy apple red, the black and gold did not work for me. The H code 289 was the predecessor of the boss 302. Both motors are an experience to drive. I am fortunate I have driven both.
@@MrJett1971 "Hertz red car high angle front three-quarter Hertz never specifically ordered red cars without top stripes, but just before Shelby began “Hertz-izing” the first installment of reds from San Jose (towards Hertz’s initially requested 200 cars), Hertz opted out of top stripes. The end result: 61 red cars sans top stripes." - Greg Kolasa

""How cool would it be to buzz down to your local Hertz rental car facility and drive a Shelby GT350 H for just $17.00 each day and $.17 per mile? """ in 65 gold cost 35 an ounce. today gold costs 1842. 1842/35*17= $894.68 per day and 89.68 a mile. I know the gold to dollar ratio is not a show of what things actually cost in 65 it is probably exaggerated 5 times.
I hope those that rented these cars and brought them back, ALL BEAT TO SHIT, had some SERIOUS CHARGES added to their credit card accounts for abusing the car!!
Dustin Lisner....that car is second to NO, NOT ONE, Garbage Motors produced hunk of shit, especially trash-ass camaros or ugly-as-shit corvettes.... #ChevySuckMansack #ChevyOwnersEatFatDick
The 1965 GT 350R won 12 of 14 races in the SCCA B production class. First race they qualified in the first four out of 5 starting positions including the front row and came home 1-2-3. Vetts won the other 2 races.

One of the prettiest Shelby Stangs I've ever seen.
Gorgeous! I had one identical to this one. Mine was black with the gold stripes, same wheels and four speed top loader.
Uh, if it was “identical” to this, it wouldn’t be black...
Did your car have an automatic ?
You've got me appreciating the GT350 a lot more
Outstanding..IMO The Great Carol Shelby would be proud of What Ford has produced in the 2016 GT350, & GT350R
Stunningly beautiful 🇺🇸
I heard some people would rent these and swap the engines from their Mustangs with the Shelby engines. Dont know if this is true or just a legend.
Love the first-gen fastbacks. Clean, efficient design.
My god what a beautiful car.....

super nice looking Shelby!

Do you know WHY most of the Hertz cars were black and gold? Do yourself a favour and google it...

what is the title of the instrumental rock song at the beginning?

The other lost car was just found in Ohio ua-cam.com/video/lQtSWiSBt_M/v-deo.html
Nothing in that video indicates that the lost prototype was found in Ohio.

Two Word's. Anger Management.
Shelby didn't want anything to do with the GT 350.
second to none except a Z28 Camaro or corvette

@john thonig Fix Or "REPLACE" Daily". Isn't "fix" and "repair" the SAME ? You "everlasting roadblockers" owners can NEVER get anything right!!
@john thonig In "B Stock" sport's car racing, these Mustangs ate Corvettes for Breakfest, Lunch, AND Dinner!
LiberalsAreWorthless ease up there, sunshine. I’m a ford guy through and through, but I can appreciate a nice vintage corvette or camaro.
