Beni Bazar lies in the Myagdi district headquarter. This lies at an altitude of 899 meters above sea level. It stands at the intersection of two rivers, the river Kali Gandaki and the river Myagdi. It is 12 km from Baglung and about 300 km from Kathmandu to the west. It has become a major tourist attraction and accommodation in the Annapurna circuit. Getting to Beni takes 9-10 hours by bus drive from Kathmandu. Beni Bazar is one of Beni’s famous places.
Geography Of The Area
The municipality of Beni is based at the district headquarters of Myagdi. Kaligandaki River lies to the east of the municipality, likewise Mangala Rural to the west, Raghuganga Rural Municipality to the north, and Baglung Municipality to the south. The meeting point of three rivers is called Tribeni, much like two rivers: the meeting point of Kaligandaki & Myagdi is called Beni, it is said.
This municipality comprises a total of 8652 households and a population of 33498: according to the 2011 census, 15002 of them are males and 18496 others are females. This town covers a total area of 76.25 square kilometers.
