List of Honda part numbers for anyone interested: License plate bracket: 71145-SVA-A00 6x16 self-tapping screw: 93904-46220 6mm spring nut clip: 90675-SA5-003 6x20 bolt: 90101-SM4-000
Thanks man. Just got a 2006 civic from my sister-in-law they live in a single plate state so trying to figure this out for the past hour was a pain in the butt thank God for you😊
Thanks, the M6 clip brackets were not on my car and I was so confused about how the holder attached to the body. Your video saved me from drilling random holes in my bumper!
Confirming that m6 1.0 20mm screws work for a Honda civic 2008 front bumper. Had to crank like crazy because my brackets are rusted but screws ultimately fit. Thanks so much for this video, it's been a journey coming from PA to CO and having to deal with this front plate crap 😆
In the beginning you list the metric phillips pan head machine screw as M6X1.0PX10mm but then afterwards you say and list M6X1.0PX20mm. is the 20mm the correct size?
Good video - thanks! Found one of these brackets that we needed brand new in the trunk of my daughters 2008 Civic. It had a bag of screws with it, marked 'G KIT 278', essentially similar to what you describe (also had the two clips that the bolts go through - there were none already on the car). It also came with 2 sticky foam pads that I put on the two 'ribbed' parts of the mount (towards the top) that touch the bumper. I guess these protect the paint from the bracket rubbing on it due to vibration.
Very helpful! I was trying to figure it out on my daughters used 2008 Honda Civic and thought I just needed longer bolt/screws and nuts but then realized the holes do not match up so I temporary zipped tied the front plates lol.
Just an FYI..the local Honda dealer wanted $19 each for ONE spring clip! There are several Honda discount parts online and also eBay for much much cheaper, anywhere from $5 and up. HOWEVER, when visiting my local Ace Hardware store I was surprised to see they carry spring clips as well and they look almost identical. They should fit fine. Cost each?....75 cents!! I highly recommend you get your M6x1.0x20mm screws (or bolts), washers, and M6x1.0 spring clips from your local hardware store. The bolts will fit the Honda branded spring clips, but if the hardware store spring clips don't work you'll only be out $1.50. Also, Honda apparently uses these same spring clips on some of their motorcycles....same part number.
Tom, This is the only video after 15 min of searching that I could find that described each part in detail. Made me realize how simple it actually is and that spending $80 for a dealer to do it is absurd. Thank you so much for the video.
Finally... the one place that says the type of screw that fits those darn holes in the frame. Thank you! Now to find some 4-10 self drilling stainless steel screws...
Hey awesome video man! I was wondering if this will work on a 2008 honda civic coupe? Plus the holes on the lower grille by the front bumper doesn't have any sliding clips with it
I just replaced a bunch of busted, rusted, and bent parts on the front my daughter's 2007 Civic. THANKS for the great vid on how to attach the d@mn license plate bracket!!! Well done!
Hi, i recently moved to MN and the law here require front license plates. i tried to find the bracket for my 2006 civic in auto stores, where did you find yours? thankyou
Thanks bro. 😎 not complicated just fucking annoying 🤣 2010 Honda Accord the bracket arent on the face they kind of cut into the frame from the inside but u helped me figure it out. I can’t explain . Ha! Thanks G
@Labib Mamun I'm not sure if that exact clip is universal, but I just ended up going to Lowes/Home Depot and showed them a picture of the clip. They have a bunch of different kinds and one of them should probably fit the mdx
Hey there! Do you have any idea where one can find the brackets that you show on 1:36?? I've been able to find the license holder, but the two brackets never came with my car. thank you so much for posting!
FWIW, Lowes carries some automotive and specialty fasteners in one aisle , divided mainly by SAE and Metric sizing. Have had really good luck finding generic automotive fasteners there:)-John in Texas

Thanks for being seemingly the only person online who details this process!

Thank you. I would have been drilling holes were it not for your vid. The clips are called U-nuts on Amazon.
Thanks man! You just saved me from drilling more holes on my bumper lol. This whole time I was just missing this Bracket lol omg feel so stupid haha 😂

Paul Norris no problem! Glad to help.
Thanks, this video was very helpful
Very helpful and informative. Thank you!
Thank you so much for making this!
Parking Enforcement got me. Video helped.
Very helpful! Except I think there might me an error in the bill of materials listed at 0:10. The quantities (4) and (2) should be reversed.
Very informative, thanks
Hi, I have a Honda civic 2008, just wondered if this procedure would work for my car?
Jan Porter not sure, you could compare the manufacturer parts list/manual and see how similar different they appear but I do not know definitively
Thank you!!!
much appreciated...
Very helpful, thank you!
Great Video. I will place a license plate to my car today.
Do you have a link to the part? I can’t seem to find the holder for the 2006 civic
Many thanks for sharing this!

Where did you get the bracket?
Anyone have the link to the license plate holder that was used? Thanks

Great video !
Anyone has link to buy the hardware to install the bracket?
Very many thanks!!! 🙏🏽
Great video and thank you! Am guessing that this also applies to the 2007 Civic 2 door Si Coupes?-John in Texas
All 8th gen civics 2006- 11 are the same.
@@peterzebot9863 he’s talking about whether it would work on a 2 door as those models have different bumper and lower grille
My car does not have the clips. Any ideas?
The part number for the clips is 90675-SA5-003 and I've found a few on Ebay and Amazon.
@Labib Mamun I'm not sure if that exact clip is universal, but I just ended up going to Lowes/Home Depot and showed them a picture of the clip. They have a bunch of different kinds and one of them should probably fit the mdx
@@cameronkoegel8711 Thanks for the hint. I used Dorman #961-315d which seems to be a replacement for the 6mm Honda clip. I'm street legal now!
What is the part number for this particular bracket?
The Honda part number that I ordered is 71145-SNA-A00.

Hi, I have the same problem. Did you ever find those brackets?
Eliyaim Gonzalez sorry, fortunately I had my brackets and did not have to locate replacements. Best of luck.

Dealer charges you 100 bucks for this and then has the nerve to do quick work and makes holes in your bumper lol
Bummer. 2012 here. No brackets.
Look for Dorman part number 961-315D, they're pretty generic 6MM clip nuts
Hey im also driving 2012 honda civic, did u figure out how to do it? I dont have clips as well 😢
Thanks. Definitely helpful
Thank you!!
Very helpful, thanks!
