Denis Matsuev, a virtuoso in the grandest of Russian pianistic tradition, gave this remarkable recital at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. The Russian star pianist performs the complete Seasons by Tchaikovsky, one of the most popular classical works in Russia. The program also features Kreisleriana by Schumann and Three Movements from Stravinsky’s Petrushka.
Very powerful with clearly structure and transparent.Not just empty virtuosity! Great interpretation,! Bravo!

Argerich has recorded this piece and other from Schumann. She is fenomenal, beyond comparison as well.

Muzyka romantyczna wymaga naturalnych oddechów, mniejszych i większych. Ich tutaj nie ma. I tego nie rozwiąże rubato ani zmiany agogiczne. To skutek tego, że uprawia Pan również jazz i pop, a to zupełne przeciwieństwo i wróg muzyki klasycznej. Tam grają emocje, a tu trzeba je zupełnie opanować. Tak upadają pianiści i nie tylko.
