Fantastic piece and as always top notch Tweeterhead BUT i have to admit it's all about the eyes! The face expression, as far as i can see in your video, is in my opinion better than the final product. It might be a personal taste but the look of the eyes (direction) looks way better to me. Also it seems the smirk is slightly better painted in its expression. But overall it's an awesome piece (anyway) and a great addition to every Batman collection. I will order it!
Great review. I had no idea this even existed. If my current preorder queue wasn't already full, this would be an instant pick up for me. Hopefully it will still be available later on down the line.
And this is why I respect Batman so much! He’s surrounded by some of the hottest villains but he still manages to stay focused and keep Gotham safe somehow! 😂
I feel like the constant times that they’ve all tried to murder him, regardless of the coupe times they actually got together, tends to focus him in a bit
Mightily impressive piece, possibly the best Poison Ivy statue i've seen! There will always be some minor discrepancies across an edition, usually these issues are easily 'fixed', plus, I often add custom paint touches to these things. Excellent comparison video, sometimes collectors are way too precious and fussy!
Looks amazing to me. There are minute differences, but it's still very close to the production. A lot closer than I've seen from other statue companies.
oh man...just got mine (exclusive with the Pot) finally. Ive been questioning if I was ever going to get it. It is very nice, probably one of my favorite statues because of the display/throne...The pinkish highlights are a little much but from a short distance or distance...it's a beautiful pose/display. Very nice weight
Hmm I didn’t know that there was such a big deal with Tweeterhead. I’ve been so impressed with their recent POs and releases. I think they all look and I can’t tell any differences either
Oh wow Chris. For a minute I thought I had tuned into Sesame street and they were doing that comparison game they usually play. "Which of these things is not like the others, which is not the same." I got worried because I am usually good at that game and looking at all three of those similar Poison Ivys, well it made me panic. That is one beautifully sculpted and great looking Poison Ivy statue. The carnivorous trap plant throne with her sitting concept is fantastic. Love the way she is posed like Sharan Stone in Basic instinct. Useing her natural beauty to draw in those who would find her irresistible enough to approach. Once close enough, her little plant pets would enjoy a hardy meal. There is nothing wrong with this piece at all. Congrats to those who have ordered her and will be getting one.
They need to start shipping these out to the customers, especially those who purchases directly from Tweeterhead. If they prioritize Sideshow customers, no one would buy directly through TH anymore.
@@Bombbiggidyphil I know. I read the newsletter too. My point was that when the first lot arrived, who did they give the products to first? It should be for customers who ordered directly through TH. Or they should make it by the orders that were placed. I just hope they don't prioritize SS orders first. That's what I was trying to say.
@@kitikongp SS is shipping their stock out. Those are the regular versions. Tweeterhead gets the exclusives. I wouldn't expect SS to hold on to them until TH gets theirs and if their stock is shipped directly to them (not through TH) then I'd be surprised if TH has any say.
@@kitikongp They do now to help international customers, but it used to be that TH was the place to get the exclusive. Poison Ivy was put up for sale back then. That's why SS doesn't have any exclusives for sale...despite them incorrectly labeling it as such. They've since removed 'exclusive' from the title.
So the whole video is going from one production piece to another with zoom, ten times, not including the prototype in the mix. At no point there was a real comparison to the prototype and the only major concern was the face. After watching the prototype video, due to the better eye placement, lip shape, nose (nostrils not darkened) and overall face contouring, prototype looks miles better. I had to make a screenshots of it and side by side face is just another level.
@@BatmanStatueCollector Hey, I know I'm a nuisance, sorry :), I just want that catwoman from them cos it looks phenomenal but i'm mostly into faces and 1st i hear about that controversy regarding their no refund policy and customer service but as i was planning to order from sideshow i found out that would be no issue for me so that's great, and then this. So i worry the face there wont be the same quality as well when it hits production, so i drive myself crazy watching the video 10 times and comparing etc. In the end the statues are not cheap (for me) and also i'm new in the hobby and would like some kind of certainty that what i see is what i get in the end.
Tweeterhead have a great track history so why would they stop now? Other difference I noticed is that the prod pieces skin looks slightly glossy compared with the proto, could be specular highlights based on light placement ...
@@BatmanStatueCollector that’s cool. I watch a lot of $200 dollar guitar reviews that get sent from the company and they are clearly cherry picked for the best quality, so I always question it. Lol
As a self taught artist I've learnt the hard way how lighting/shading can make or break a drawing of anything. It can make the lines and the otherwise beautiful form look drastically downgraded. Which is why you need to be careful and take multiple angles if you can to get the end product just right to reflect what you are actually capable of going for. Colours should be chosen and applied wisely. These principles absolutely apply to photography and prototypes. These 2 are as good as the original.
Awesome Poison Ivy piece! I think the prototype is minutely better then production but I think production nailed it.. the production piece is 9.98 out 9.99 to the prototype IMO which is a very close match ;)
Ashley said in a comment she doesn't understand the green skin on Ivy. Well.. I will tell my vision or opinion :D I think she is like a mutant (that suffered a mutation) that can control plants (feels them too.. like a connection with them). In my eyes when she is green I like to think she is at hear peak (strenght and at controling plants). Kinda like Bruce Banner when he turns into Hulk :D (a different type of human.. a very powerful 'beast'). But I also like the normal skin for Ivy. Even if green is my 2nd favorite color.. I m kinda Iess of a fan of green skin on a human. (I rather like how Mystique from Marvel looks in blue. Green.. not as much)
Where the problem arises is most companies do artificial controlled lighting photoshopped photos as promo pics and when people see it in natural light, they complain it's not close. What companies should do is to give us normal photos of prototype, sometimes they look better than the promo pics ,like prime 1 Lynda Carter in hand prototype pics and xm Swamp thing which loooked way better in gem's video than prototype pics from xm.
Personally, for me the only Poison Ivy I would want is the Prime 1 Studio Batman Hush Poison Ivy. Don't get me wrong, the scale is great for people with limited room. But I still prefer her in green.
"Personally, for me the only car I would want is the Bentley Continental GT Speed. Don't get me wrong, the cost of a Corolla is great for people with limited budgets. But I still prefer her with a W-12 engine." Lmao, apples to oranges.
The hair and the eye placement on the prototype looks a lot better. But over all still a nice statue
The prototype portrait is on a whole different level to the production heads. The paint makes a big difference

Because he has Robin 😉

Good review as always. Good sculpts. Affordable.
Looks fantastic. Love that Chad sent two for you to review and ease people’s concerns.
Just love this. Wish there was more of the Frank exclusive, he makes the statue come to life even more. 🧡
Ordered mine. Thanks for this video!
My pleasure 😊
I noticed a bit of a QC issue with the face paint on the hair on the left statue IDK if anyone noticed that?
Yes, saw that
Very nice to see the production and prototype side by side.
Thanks for watching

Just ordered mine from SS. Will be here Wednesday. Was debating. But the debate is over lol

He will indeed

Very detailled statues !!
Turned out really nice!

Love his art

Wow that is a great Poison Ivy piece for price and size economy!
She really is fun!!
I *really* wish the variant also came with the exclusive potted plant. Considering it is a higher cost, it really should have come with the extra.
so the exclusive was limited to 250? and the just the Standard limited to 1500? Is that what I understand?
I believe so

They are sold out, but I might be giving some of these away!!! Stay Tuned!
@@BatmanStatueCollector oh thats a shame .. thank you for quick reply . Im gonna stay tuned : )
On sites (with statues) from my country.. she is soId out (unless Tweeterhead brings another wave with her).
Even after watching the video, I still have the feeling that her eyes positions changed a bit.
Eyes are more centred in the production versions. I prefer the eyes on the prototype tbh.
My question would have to be. Did he just send 2 random ones or did he pick out a couple that turned out outstanding.
2 random...they were both still sealed!

Little sad, that the red Hair is not as bright, as the Prototype - still can't wait for her Arrival in my Collection soon
You would never notice without having them side by side, you're also seeing it through a camera so it's not true color.

Great quality hair looks better darker, has darker hair parting
a bit of a generic look for Ivy but the presentation is nice. I think it needs a variant with pale green skin
I love that it's not green skin. I never understood that
Meanwhile, I'm hoping Sideshow would do a flesh tone variant of their last Poison Ivy Premium Format, lol

The hair color difference was immediately noticeable. She still looks great but i really wish they had been able to keep the original hair color
The hair/face is noticeably better on the prototype.
