"In what universe do you have a dishwasher but not a stove" EXACTLY!
If someone was a dishwasher in a restaurant and the boss wouldn't give them a break and their hungry😂????
@@hellodorothy8627no you don’t get it then.. because you always have a stove in the apartment.. but the dishwasher is a bonus…
so why use the dishwasher, when you literally got a oven…
The one when you're stove and microwave and anything else that you can eat with is broken except for your dishwasher, and you're too poor to fix everything else.
@madarauchiha8146 I was being satire . So no, you're the one who doesn't get it 🤣🤣🤣
@@madarauchiha8146 it depends on the person and their circumstances, when I was younger 90% of anything we used to cook with like a stove, microwave, etc broke and we couldn't use them because it was too expensive to fix, so we would eat cold food, and the dishwasher we kept as good as we could and sometimes we honestly did use it to heat food up, it was either that or not pay for rent and heat in the winter, and thats how its starting to get more and more because the middle class is starting to disappear because the economy is going up.
I audibly gasped when you opened the dishwasher to reveal the masterpiece
So did she, we didn't see that coming.
Idk I think your threshold for masterpiece is shockingly low
Don't do it! It can be dangerous! Especially for chicken. It doesn't get hot enough for lo b enough
I thought it was a joke
Just a PSA dishwashers do not get hot enough and do not maintain a high enough temperature to insure food safety. Pls do not try to use your dishwasher as a diy sous vide machine. This is like leaving your salmon in a glass box in the sun on a hot day.
Edit: if anyone is wondering my qualifications to issue this statement I have worked in professional kitchens for over a decade, I have actually used sous vide techniques, I have taken multiple food handling courses, and I have basic understanding the functioning of dishwashers and how food cooks.
My new question to all of you is why you want to defend the idea of ruining a piece of salmon by washing it in your dishwasher? Do you just want to dunk on the hundreds of millions of people struggling with food insecurity by throwing away $20 of fish? Do you love food waste? Maybe you just want to fuck with the nearly 50 million people in the US alone living in drought conditions by wasting water? Do you love the idea that you're contributing to the collapse of the worlds fish stocks by buying and throwing away fish? Is it all just for the meme? Like seriously we live in a world where our ecosystems are teetering on the edge of collapse, because of overconsumption and waste, but sure let's chuck expensive product into a machine meant to clean dishes and waste all the water and energy associated with that and have a truly shit dinner 2 hrs later, when I could have seared it on the stove for 5 minutes and have something delicious that I actually want to eat. You know sure though I get it, it's super fun to waste time, money, energy and water on a tiktok meme and your biggest issue is that someone told you that being a wasteful asshole, might not be a safe way to consume food.
Additional note the water used during cleaning doasn't automatically come with soap. The cleaning product needs to be added in order to clean your dishes properly.
@1betterthanyou1 I've worked in a bunch of professional kitchens and generally sanitizing happens as a cycle in your dishwasher and it's generally accomplished by chemical means not heat and only lasts a minute or two, so no and industrial dishwashers would actually be even worse for this since the entire dishwashing process lasts less than 10 minutes. You might be thinking of an autoclave which I have little to no experience with, but ask a piercer.
@@davidmartin5483i don’t think she was imply it did lol she meant like residual soap left on the inside of the machine
I mean salmon can be eaten raw. I wouldn't throw a chicken in your dishwasher but as long as you've got high quality salmon you should be fine
@@one_smol_duck raw and improperly cooked are two extremely different things, you can eat beef, pork and chicken (it might gross you out but chicken sashimi is a real thing) raw if handled properly, but treat it improperly and even fully cooked it's dangerous to eat.
"Rosemary on the fish, not gonna f***ing save it~"
That is going to live in my head now.
AS. IT. SHOULD.
No because same
It's become one of my daily phrases 😭
My smile DROPPED when dishwasher entered the video
LAST thing I was expecting to hear today was a How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying reference 😂
IKR IT WAS MY SHOW FOR SENIOR YEAR OF HS AND IM STILL OBSESSED
It brought out my inner theater kid and I started singing WHATEVER HAPPENED TO ROSEMARYYYY? like a trained dog, I miss HS 😭
Yeaaah and so not wasteful, running a whole darn dishwasher cycle for a piece of salmon😅
When I saw this 15 damn years ago the intention was to chuck the salmon in with a load of dishes. Therefore saving electricity...
@@JamesKing-el3ry wouldn't that just make all the dishes smell fishy
@@sadisticdummyThe fish is at no point even touching the same air 💀
Not a piece, a whole fucking salmon
@@bingolinging actually half a salmon. You get 2 full length fillets either side of the spine
The Nic Cannon diss made me automatically subscribe lol 😂
Rosemary 🎶 heaven restores you in life
Maybe a sous vide bag would be better suited.
Great idea!
Dishwashers do NOT get hot enough or maintain a consistent heat long enough to insure food safety. Your dishwasher is not a diy sous vide machine
I feel like if you have one of those, you probably have better options than making fish in a dishwasher
@@lookingfortherain Google says for the preparation of salmon , 30 to 40 minutes at 65°C that is 149F. A dishwasher can get easily to that temp.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't it take less time to just put it in the oven?
Right!
Who tf thinks dishwashers a good idea
The answer is yes. The oven would be faster and wasting less resources
Listen we're just following what the original video told us to do.
Yes but we’re having fun here.
I think the idea is that you don't want to use electricity by turning the oven on and you have a load of dishes to do anyway, so you combine the two. I'm not saying it's genius. if you were really budgeting you just wouldn't use a dishwasher. but that's the idea
Why didn't you put it in the vacuum sealed bag? I mean it would 100% taste better
Didn't we establish that it also does not heat the food for a prolonged enough time to make bacteria and shuts go away?
The casual nick cannon stray got mee
Me. I have an illegal basement suite. Got a dishwasher but only a microwave which is why the rent was so cheap.
Crockpot air fryer literally anything but the dishwater 😂
There's about 50 better options.
@@OkayMaybe806 I have an air fryer that can bake, cook, sous vide, slow cook and it was like 40$ if EVEN, anything but the dishwasher ple he heeeasseee
My landlord refuses to fix the oven we have. Loved 1.5 years so far off an air fryer 😅 I still wouldn't do that though
Similar happened to us (though we own the house... the replacement was broken too so they took it back to give us a refund so had a hole in the kitchen rather than a stove) air fryer, microwave, and when it was warm grill outside. oh and crockpot because slow cooker saves the day
running the dishwasher also takes like twice as long as cooking the fish normally would
How to succeed! 😂 🎼rosemary
YESSSS, someone gets it.
I came searching for this comment!
Three years ago our oven died. We got it replaced, but the new unit didn't work so they took it out... so for a period of about 4 months we had a hole in our kitchen where the stove / oven should be ... but we did have a working dishwasher. Did we ever use it to cook? No. We used the microwave, air fryer, and when it was warm enough the grill outside.
They did this in the show everybody loves raymon and the dinner was a hit
Everybody's so creative!
"Why would you do this it's pretty stupid." At the end was perfectly said!!!❤❤❤❤
I’ve seen people do this in other ways. Jars, sous vide bags etc. Dishwashers will never get hot enough to make the fish safe to eat!
You can literally eat salmon raw. It's not chicken. It's ok if it's not perfectly up to temp.
Not Nick cannon catching a stray lol
You deserve so many more views lol
“Looking forward to it” 👌 🤣
This idea comes from Alton Browns old show Good Eats.
The episode was about using unconventional means to make your meals, like making a DIY smoker from cardboard boxes and a hair dryer, or using the dishwasher to steam fish.
🎶I’ll be happy to keep his dinner warm…in the dishwasher🎶
Good call on the extra foil.
This seems like a college experiment that they thought was so funny, they decided to try and "perfect" it. Doubt they actually think its a good way to cook salmon. But hey, its on the internet with all the other impractical stuff that technically works.
We're just following what the original video said to do. We make what the internet shows us to test for all of you.
i think it originally came from a show about the cheapest families. one of them would run the dishwasher with stuff in it and put in like a lasagna or fish to cook at the same time.
I just can't. I've just now got a new dishwasher after so many years not being able to afford one... I do not wanna wreck my dishwasher trying some crazy trend. It pains me even watching this 😂😭
That's what we are for.
When i was a teenager our oven broke and our house was getting foreclosed on anyway. We wanted one last pizza before we were going to be homeless so we cooked it in the dishwasher. It was soggy but digestible 😊
I'm glad you don't have to worry about your appliances but not everyone has that luxury ✌🏼
Microwave, crock pot, toaster oven... all a million times better than risking food borne illness by preparing food in a dishwasher. Or do what the rest of us did as broke 20- some-things and live off cereal and PB&J sandwiches. 😅
Everybody so creative!
I love that you did this anyway....
This reminds me of dishwasher lasagna in extreme cheapskates
Such a mood lol
This was from that TLC show called cheapskate!! A lady made lasagna and baked it in the dishwasher!
Nick comment was TOO real 😂
You're cooking in a dishwasher and you say what Nick Cannon should do?! I mean, you not wrong, but get You right first!
My inner theater kid smiled 🥹
WOOO!!!
Man, i wanna do this recipe in a stove. That looks so good if you put it in a stove!
You should! Let me know.
Everybody’s so creative…
When you're just moving in and you dont have the stove yet, this recipe is a lifesaver lol
The elevator music had me on the floor😂😂😂😂😂
We will let the editor know. 😂😂
Perfect example of just because you can doesn't mean you should.
Oh my god i remember a time where the internet was cray about cooking food in dishwashers
I just found your channel, you're hilarious
i still remember an ep of one of those cooking competition shows where a guy went to make dishwasher salmon but there was no dishwasher on the set so his BACKUP WAS MAKING IT IN THE OVEN. like hello??
This reminds me of when that one lady made lasagna in the dish washer 😅
Ur a real one for the intro and ending
awww shucks.
This is for when the apocalypse happens and the stove no longer works, maybe no gas, but the dishwasher does 😂
hahahaha
I like your attitude
That nick diss made me pause and look around😹
“How To Cook That” has a video on how dishwashers don’t reach the minimum temperature needed to safely kill off bacteria for long enough, so even if you do get it air tight, it’s not safe to eat
whoops too late... we were just following the original creator's video.
I thought we've been over this. Dishwashers do not maintain a hot enough temperature for long enough to meet cooking guidelines.
Reminds me of that one lady cooking lasagna made with beef fat in the dishwasher.
Damn nick thats not a stray ,that was in rhe face fk lol 😂😂😂😂😅😅😅😅
Suddenly there is music in the sound of your name, rosemary
I just can’t believe you actually ate it
😹 this universe! My place currently has a dishwasher but not a stove.
the fish part sounds good but like steam it or put it in the oven
what makes this especially heinous for me is that it starts off so good. great looking ingredients, love the foil packet method, and then…..the horrors.
THE HORRRRROOOOOSSSSSSS.
Resourceful.
Ok hear me out lady if Yur using the dishwasher at lease wrap it like tht but but but put in in a roasting bag lol😂😂
When you picked it up out the dishwasher, it was so scared of you that it peed
I have a dishwasher but not a stove because nowhere sales gas stoves anymore and no electic hookups. Microwave slow cooker and toaster oven air fryer are good
Now that was a good ass roast😂😂😂
The white is the rendered fat from the salmon. Happens when we smoke them at work
BOOM KNOWLEDGE! Thanks for that, she's going to be happy to hear that.
I CAUGHT THAT HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUISNESS NUMBER!
The only time ive seen food cooked in the dishwasher was when EpicMealTime was a viral channel. Those guys did it right.
I saw Vincent Price do this on the Johny Carson show decades ago!
Its apparently for people who don’t have a sous vide but like that is supposed to be done for a really long period of time so I don’t see in anyway how it’s comparable.
This was done on an episode of Extreme Cheapskates!
Rooosemary! I always think of that song too
In this universe, where landlords will do some zany thing and not give a clear answer as to why the place is the way it is.
You could wrap it up like a sous vide but then dishwasher
What about the rinse aid
No offense to Daniel Radcliffe, but Robert Morse singing Rosemary is magic~
This is a great video
THANKS!!!
I love how when you pull it out its just charred and leaking all that water, who doesnt love a nice watery salmon 😅..
It's right back at home in the water. 😅
IMPORTANT NOTE:
the dishwasher does get to a high enough temperature to kill bacteria BUT it doesn't do it long enough for it to be safe so yes it's cooked. no it's NOT SAFE
please pin this in case somebody is stupid enough to unironically do this
Dishwasher salmon has it's own Wikipedia page
That shit looks so good tho don’t lie
"🎶Rosemary 🎶 " How to Succeed at Business Without Really Trying?!?!!!!
I saw something like that on extreme cheapskates where a women cook lasagna in the dishwasher but she did it with also dirty dishes in there too
You should try the dishwasher Lasagna Alton Brown and the Mythbusters did next
Fish died for nothin
Actually currently my mom has no stove or oven because it broke down completely and her dishwasher is fine
haha pretty good short
thanks!
I just need to understand why that happened to the aluminium foil
You don’t do this becuase you don’t have a stove, you do this becuase it’s funny
The residual soap in your dishwasher put that aluminum foil to the test. Good wrap job lol
I can’t believe she actually did this
If you watch a video of a washing machine going through a full cycle, I think you’ll regret this majorly. Brown recycled water is used for like 80% of the wash.
I think i love you!
By the way. How To Cook thst did a video on this along with a timer for safety. Good watch.
I don’t have a dishwasher but I have a stove can I do the reverse clean my dishes in the stove
Ah yes, the more accursed cousin to Sink Steak: Dishwasher Salmon.
…I swear if anyone does Laundry Chicken I’m gonna curl into a ball.
We're on it!
“Like Nick Cannon should start doing”
Blond lady trying to be hip: he had those babies intentionally
Listen as someone who’s eaten dishwasher salmon before (don’t ask), the trick is to wrap it 7 times with 7 pieces of tinfoil. No more. No less.
