      oh sorry number of episodes once it goes over a certain amount of time they die off rapidly making it hard to justify carrying them on.

    Since you have Nexerelin you can set up Special Task Groups - fleets with your own ships and officers. I think it's one of the options when you talk to the portmaster or whatever in one of your colonies. They do require upkeep and can be destroyed, but you can pay to fix any ships that are destroyed fairly cheaply. You can send them to patrol a system, orbit a specific planet, attack a specific base, etc.
    You can modify those special fleets later, too. You can assign them new ships or take them back, add or take back or re-assign officers, etc. It's a great way to avoid dismissing good officers or putting good ships to use even if they don't fit in your own fleet.

    Monitor with hardened shields, solar shielding, shield conversion - front, safety overrides, abnd hardened subsystems witha reckless pilot with elite field modulation and combat endurance is damn near invincible. I often run 4 of them even in my end game fleets just for the sheer amount of punishment they can take. I had one keep a doom dorito busy for basically the entire time it took me to kill the other hypershunt doom dorito entirely.

    If you plan to do new series of Starsector, you should try "Nexerelin"+"Underworld" mods. This combination will add a new start - "Infernal Machine". You get a unique upgradable flagship and a task to restore it to its former glory. I think you will love piloting it =)

    You can remove the "Hostile activity" from Luddic Path by doing a specific quest for them.

      Well I wiped them of the game(lol) but they keep annoying my colonies and the only time I got a conversation with any of them(their leader) was when I was using the zigurat.

      @@saorcamposoliveira If I recall correctly, there will be a small Luddic Path patrol around one of the jump points in a system with your "suspicious" colonies. If you talk to this patrol, you can pay them a bribe to ignore you for 2 years. After that you can offer "to find more permanent solution", which will start a quest.

    I like the idea of a missile run. I don’t think missile only would be good but a focus could be lots of fun! Think you should add a faction mod or two for that though!

    The Invictus "Lidar Array" system gives its forward-facing weapon mounts triple fire rate, double range, and 1.5x normal projectile speed. There's a long wind-up, and a 1 second cooldown at the end of its 5 second duration, and after it does it, there's a 10s cooldown. While the system is active, it effectively makes the 4 front-mounted large ballistic weapons do the damage of 12, and hit at twice the range they'd normally reach. While it's running, the turret mounts are disabled, but the forward-facing firepower is well worth it. The ship has 10 large ballistic weapons (including those 4 front-mounted ones) and 2 large missile launchers. Also, the 10,000 armour (You saw 11,000 but the base value is only 10k) is in some ways less scary and in other ways more scary than it sounds. It only acts like it has 1,000 armour, but it has 1,000 armour for 10 times as long as any other ship would, because of the unique built-in "ablative armour" hullmod. This makes its armour provide 10% of the usual protection, but the total value is still counted for how much damage the armour can take before you start hitting hull.
    Also it has another built-in hullmod which makes it viable to convert into a carrier. The "converted hangar" mod doesn't apply its normal debuffs on the Invictus, *and* the ship gets an extra hangar bay from it, so it's not a true carrier even then, but it's closer to a carrier than most non-carrier ships can become. I wouldn't count it on a carrier only run (not that you want to, it would need more crew just for itself than the entire rest of your fleet put together), but if you want to make it a carrier in a normal run, it can be pretty scary when fitted for that role.

    Bribing the Luddic Path gets you two years of no disruption for ~250k. My colonies on my last playthrough generated ~250k every month, so the deal was more than worth it.

    I think the best way to deal with the hegemony inspections is to wait outside the system in hyperspace and scan for the hegemony fleet and attack them there.
    Best also to disable your transponder, I think if you engage the fleet with it enabled, it is automatic war declaration.

    I did a run where my fleet was mostly TriTach Brawlers and Hyperion Gunships armed with Ion Pulsers. I can most fights by hitting Full Assault because the enemies can't shoot back.

    I'd love to see another kenshi series in the near future! Perhaps modded? Universal Wasteland Expanded is a nice vanilla+ mod

    There is a mod faction called Kyeltziv Technocracy, their ships are long range and focus on missiles. Interesting for a missile play trough. Also check out 'the Abyss'
    Would be fun to see you trying to beat some of the bossfactions modders added, like TMI supervillians or Legio infernalis 😇

    Not sure if from a mod or not; the Lerna and Lamia missiles are great - "blaster missiles." Fires off a UV Blaster basically upon closing with target, and much harder for PD to take out. The Gorgon is one of the smallest of this variety of weapon.

      There are missile launchers that launch drones or fighters. Talon Rail, etc. They nerf the fighters but blast them directly into range. Best used en masse.

      The fix for AI cores is to kill more Ludd ships :D
      You get short-term reductions for doing so, and doing it a lot keeps the number from climbing. Or, seems to work for me on my cheaty runs (where I start with a fleet I want, basically) at least.

    "fast and can move out of the way of enemies" isn't exactly what you'd want for a tank though.

    Considering that your colony is short on several things, maybe it is wise to put some basic ai cores in to reduce its footprint until you can fix the underlying issue.

    1:03:00 Mora's job is to be a tank, like a pocket Legion. Give it Jack Hammers and loads of kinetics and then some fighter like Thunders or Broadswords and get it in teh enemies face, then your Heron's can outflank with Daggers, Khopesh and Perditions for the killing blow.

    Just since nobody else has explained where the "omg is it a laser missile?" things come from yet...
    The 0.96a update added "DEM" (Directed Energy Munitions) as a new missile type. Technically, they're more like particle or plasma beams (depending on the specific weapon) than lasers in most cases, but functionally, yeah, they're laser missiles. There are various types of them, with different beam duration and total damage values. A Tempest with DEMs is particularly amusing to me, because it's got drones which think they're missiles, and missiles which think they're drones.
    Also because you seemed confused by it, "polity" (plural polities) is a real word. It's a term for a political organisation which isn't as specific as "government" and is more applicable to a setting where churches and megacorporations are functionally acting as governments. Starsector is such a setting, so the dev chose to use that more technically correct term for the factions involved - if you read a lot of the game's lore, the term shows up quite a bit.
    And as for why that word came up, a summary of the Executor's lore is that the Pegasus is a Persean League ship, and the Sindrian Diktat have their own customised version of it. Most modified ships in Starsector which count as a different hull type are made by pirates or Luddic Path, and are built using a pre-existing forge blueprint with extra parts tacked on or a few bits removed after the fact. The Executor is a "forge level" blueprint customisation, which doesn't affect gameplay, but is described as a different process for how it's been set up. It's out of reach of the disorganised pirates and only the more major factions could manage it. LIke, for example, the people with a pseudo-monopoly on fuel production in the sector, which the Sindrians have in the base game.

    There's a large version of the laser missiles and they just destroy shit, I have a falcon with some and if they hit something without a shield 9 times out of 10 it's just gone

    The Invictus I would classify as a "kind of" carrier like the tempest, while it doesn't have a hanger starting off it recieves no penalties to having the converted hanger mod because of it's intergrated "vast hanger" mod. I think if you ever do a "carrier only" style run again using it would be perfectly acceptable, given it's downsides offset it's combat capability (namely the DISGUSTING logistical profile it has)

    This game gen felt kinda cursed, between the pretty early Persean League domination and the general seeming lack of any real advanced ships or blueprints.
    Made the carrier only run come across as really chained. :( Oh well.
