Another great video from Deshler Scott, it might be far from your house but it sure is worth the trip for the shear number of trains! Middletown the home of JD Vance! See you on the next one Scott. ❤😊👍
Thanks Carol! I think I can make one last video from there and that will be it. Yep, JD Vance is from Middletown. He`s done well for himself while living through some difficult circumstances. Hope you have a great week!
Wow! Excellent catching all the trains, especially the CSX B523, I like them, they're awesome, @1960gambit, Scott, thank you very much and have a nice day and night.
After the coil train we had a 119 car mixed manifest. It included a beautiful untagged UP box car and a good strip or 2 of TTX box cars! Another great catch, Scott. 😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤
I love the coil steel car, Scott! With the largest coil I've ever handled being around 35,000 pounds, the size of most of these were truly impressive! 😃😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤ The size of the grain elevator in the background is truly impressive, too! A fabulous catch , Scott! Thank you very much.
Thank you for another fabulous video, Scott! Your productions never cease to amaze me. You must have a knack for catching the best shots. I certainly enjoyed it. We'll chat later, I hope! 😃😃😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤❤
Scott, all they would have to do is put a flange greaser about middle ways of each one of those turns and that would stop all of that squealing just listening to it on my headphones. I have to turn the volume down. I can’t stand it but anyway my friend another awesome video, and as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one
I turned the volume down when I edited the video by about 20%. I guess it wasn`t enough. I know that squeal just about gives me a haircut while I`m filming! Lol
Hi Scott. Sorry I had to miss this one yesterday. That steel coil train is a long one. Nice but noisy mixed manifest also a long one. Thanks Scott, stay safe out there. ❤
Thanks Margie! I got one left to post from Deshler and I`m going to turn the volume down further in it to make it a little quieter to watch. I did that in this video, but I guess I have to edit it down more than 20%! Lol
@@1960gambit I highly recommend the CN matteson and Chicago sub, homewood still has a standard cab dash8 and CN commonly runs fallen flags out there, definitely would stop at Griffith and homewood and maybe outer towns like Frankfort Mokena and Joliet
That`s been a while for sure! I get around more these days. With the cold weather coming and shorter daylight hours, I may be in Glendale a little more often but not exclusively. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
i;m surprised the coil train didn't squalling like a banshee with it's balls in a bear trap!! although northbound into the curve doesn't seem to squeal as much as the curve into southbound does!!
Not sure about the new ones but the old cpl and search lights run off of just a little bit over 10 volts. I rescued a few when UP redid Nelson illinois. 😊❤
Good made video, mr 1960gambit. All that signals there in Deshler: help me whe here in Europa can not understand that. Whe have here in Europa a very simple signalling. That will be rolling out over complete Europa. Thx for this topvideo 🚆🚆👍💪💪👍👌🚆🚆 in Deshler Ohio. Greet from Zandvoort the Netherlands.
Really liking this Deshler series Scott. Great job. Watching this one brought an old question to mind that you might know the answer to. Don't bother if it's complicated, but on the auto racks especially, I have noticed that many of the cars will display a particular RR herald on the side but also the TTGX reporting mark. Does that just indicate that the car is leased to that railroad but owned by Trailer Train? Thanks for a good one.
Thanks Lou! Well, I did some research, and I never did get a definitive answer to your question. My gut feeling is that the railroad leases the car but wants their name on the car to help identify which railroad is actually leasing it in case there is some sort of issue with it. Just my best guess, but I bet I`m close!

Those round train signals are cool. I like the old railroad stuff.
Yes they are. I grew up with those in my hometown. They are all gone now as it is a shortline owned line.

Good video Scott.
Thanks Greg!
Safe travels.
Thanks Gray! Have a great day!
Three wyes I wonder if they could use a fourth wye Enjoyed the video
I'm hearing the South to West connecting track might be coming out at some point. It gets used less than 30 times a year I've heard.

Oh, and another thing I believe every wheel on those steel coil cars had flat spots on them. I think that was the worst that I have ever heard.

yellow below red = restricted proceed improving to approach.
Flashing green = Slow Clear. 15 MPH
Thanks for the info!
I see a lot of these slabs up in Illinois, maybe you should come
up for a video some time
I may have to do that! Thanks!

I noticed that the length of the cars affects how bad they squeal too on that last train. I guess the longer the car is, the less they squeal!
@@1960gambit yeah i started picking up on that too but wasn't entirely positive on it!!
My ears are bleeding! I had to mute some of the vid.
You should have been trackside! It was brutal. Lol

I could see that since the train basically completes the circuit via the 2 rails.
Oh oh oh. That squealing again. Had to mute the sound. Otherwise a fantastic video. Many thanks.
Sorry about that. I even dropped the volume a bunch when I edited it this time! Darn!
True, how would you like to live next to that squealing?
I suspect you would get used to it after a while.

Do you think the reason the auto racks don't squeal because on the longer wheel base, Scott? 🙂🙂
That`s my theory. I figure the wheels don`t bind up against the rail as bad on a longer car.
