I saw something yesterday and I said let me see what's happening and I came across a Ghanaian speaking Chinese and I was shocked. From then I've been watching your videos and I'm impressed. Maybe, you wouldn't know yourself but you're a very great guy.
I’ve learned so much about Chinese Culture and History watching your videos than I have anywhere else in 39 years. Thank you for sharing your beautiful message. It shows how much you appreciate their culture. Happy to watch you and learn all that you share! ✊🏽
I love how you show us the other side of HK. The side of an migrant life. The side many of us tourist don't see. It shows how multi-cultured the city and how many years people have been living there.
Thank you for illuminating the side of HK less covered! Heartwarming to see community and friendliness of diverse ethnicities in this city. If one watches the recent HK movie "Twilight of the City: Walled In" , it has a similar theme of the notorious gangs filled Kowloon City in the old days before being demolished with the underlying strong community. Kudo also to you that you were still in such good spirit after being stopped for an hour at the HK customs upon arrival. Thanks again for shedding lights on a diverse groups of people living in HK. Keep exploring!
Compliments to your HK blog. Very comprehensive, unscripted monologue and humble exchanges with local HK people in the mansion. Very refreshing and historical info. educational. I have spent many times in Tsim Tsa Choi and had a blast. Particularly in Lang Kwai Fong other side of the harbour. Crazy times. Live a humble life now. Keep up the good explorations of HK.
I hope people can travel the world and see the real kindness of people. We all can get along and live together. This shows a very good positive side of that society.
That's true what you said about being people concerned about the news of the world. In the old days when we went to dim sum, the old men would each be reading from their newspaper. Now,it's the phones :D Glad you visited us.
I could see the hurt in your face after going through the immigration process. I can relate. Sadly many places still associate us with criminal behaviour, but it's good that you didn't let it bring you down.
It looks so clean. I got excited to see the high-speed train. I once was a Light Rail Train 🚆 operator & Supervisor for the Dallas Texas Public Transportation Department. I enjoy your platform, brother. Be safe.
You are so friendly and appreciate the diversity and respect it that you speak so fluent and very impressive to the people there you just oioze pure live and happiness wherever you go. Keep doing what you do as its so wxciting to warch your videos. And you change the mindset of ignorant people who are brainwashwd by the media that only interest is to bread negatively division and control
Wow,Fel thanks for the education ... Man your vlogs has shifted to another level. Vietnam & now Hong Kong. Big up. Nuff respect for your hustle. Watching from the land downunder Sydney NSW Australia
New subscriber here. This was interesting. Happy I found your channel. Perhaps you can do a day in the life videos while traveling. Have fun in Hong Kong. 🇭🇰
Comming from the UA-cam Channel from the Guy, you met in China "Mein Reisetagebuch". It was so nice to see such a friendly and smiling guy at this "vernissage"-so i decided to leave a friendly comment 4 you and to watch some vids of your traveling. ^^ greetings from Germany
Fel, your face made me laugh so much when you bit into that egg tart. It seems you discovered why the line was around the corner. 😂😂 now i wanna egg tart from there .
I like what you do there Fel. However, may I suggest you visit Zhanjiang City, still in Guangdong Province at the bottom center of China, near Macao. There are many shipping ports there. Hoping you visit one and let your audience see Zhanjiang City. Thanks.
Yo this is my dream to travel to different parts of the world and meet new people u motivate me keep doing this ,keep bringing knowledge to the rest of the world 🌍 much love ✊🏾
I usually take from Humen to Kowloon West Station. That’s funny bro, I have to go to HK tomorrow I wish I met you there or anywhere in Guangdong region!
Great video! It's like being on vacation with you! I've stayed at Chungking Mansion many times! I love the egg tarts! Did you know there are two different types of egg tarts in HK? There is the Macau Portugese egg tarts with caramelised tops, which i think you had. And there are HK egg tarts that have a plain yellow top. Hopefully you can try both.
You can feel the different vibe of Hong Kong compared to the rest of China even on video, the western influencers are tangible and maybe it's me but even the people's demeanor seems way different, this was another great one Fel, thank you 😎✌🏾
12am and ppl still street packed thats the same in South Africa in Sunnyside Pretoria...in Sunnyside u can get anything u want literally anything anytime they calling it Lagos now
Haha these "egg tarts" are actually Portuguese!! I'm from France and we have them here too. I'm so surprised to see them in Hong Kong, and not so surprised at the same time. I believe these are called "pasteis" in Portuguese
Reminded me of the time I was in Hong Kong. The different alley ways with foreigner shops. I really think mainland China is becoming much more advanced than the then much sort after Hong Kong. Good video.
Nah. I mean Shanghai is pretty futuristic looking I guess, although very few if any of the buildings were actually designed by Chinese architects, but in all the ways that actually matter Hong Kong is much more advanced than the mainland. Which is why of course the ratio of mainlanders trying to gain the right to live in Hong Kong v the number of Hong Kongers who want to move to China is infinitely more one then than the other. Take a wild guess which it is ? If mainland China was genuinely so much more advanced then why is that ration not the other way around? Why aren't Hong Kong people desperate to leave and enjoy the superior China? 🙄😂 We have a healthcare system that's world class and unlike China's free to use, ditto our secondary and tertiary education system. Then we've got a legal system rooted in the British common law system that makes us very attractive to international businesses, particularly global banks and law firms who choose to hub here and not Shanghai or Beijing because they get the legal protections here that the mainland Chinese legal system doesn't offer. Of course this won't remain the case very much longer. Our legal system is currently under attack as is our education system. The central government deep down despises Hong Kong because it's a constant reminder of what they want to forget. So their goal is too ultimately make Hong Kong just like one of many mid sized mainland Chinese cities, forgettable unimportant and I have no doubt they will achieve that within the next 20 years which will of course make all the Wumao like you very happy. So congratulations 🎉
@@willsmith39 I think you are out of the loop people in Hong Kong are traveling to Shenzhen / guangzhou every weekend for their day off. It is way cheaper, cleaner and more futuristic and more advanced. It takes less than 1 hour to get there and it is more cost efficient for a family to travel there, eat the whole day buy the weekly supermarket stuff they need than to eat 1 restaurant meal in HK. Lots of Hong Kong people have already left in the past 2-3 years they all went to the UK BNO.
My father was in the Navy and he got stationed in Holy Loch Scotland. My mom and me were able to come and live in Holy Loch. We lived at first with a Scottish family and they were super nice people and eventually we moved to an apartment in downtown Holy Loch. The people were so friendly but they did have protest going on called “Ban The Bomb” this was about limiting nuclear weapons. My father worked on a submarine tender changing out Polaris Missiles on the submarines. I don’t remember all of my time there because I was a grade school kid. The schooling was different where I had to get the school uniforms and when it was time for lunch we would buy our tickets and go to a separate building to eat lunch. The school day was about the same time as American school. When dad took his liberty he flew with us back to America to help us get settled and find a place to live. I have been to Spain, Sicily and Italy. I was working on a research vessel as a third mate and we towed a sonar array to hunt enemy subs in the Mediterranean Sea and The Atlantic Ocean. The job ended up a year later. We worked 3 months on and a month off. Once I started a career working on boats I was hooked. My first job was a deckhand on a push boat. I also worked in the oilfields running boats in The Gulf of Mexico. Then I was working on a harbor tug in New York City. My boating career ended in 2000 due to a work related injury. I miss the boats so much. Love your videos and thank you for the opportunity to listen about different parts of the world you have visited. Safe travels brother!
Definitely had a government agent following you. Eating egg tart, the guy in black shirt and green pants. 😂 lived in China and Hong Kong for eight years. So I know when I see them! 😂
Cool video, most vloggers cover typical tourist sites when visiting HK, but you approached it from a different angle. A few notes: 1) entering that jewelery store the way you did probably raised some alarm bells for that lady, not because of your ethnicity, but because, despite HK being a very safe place, there have been several high profile luxury shop robberies in that area with people "studying" the shops before the robberies. 2) the bakery you went to is a famous HK chain owned by a chef who used to work at the Four Seasons hotel. 3) The other area with lots of foreigners they mentioned is Soho. But it's more popular with westerners. Same with Central, where a lot of foreigners work in the financial institutions there.
Chungking is the best for subcontinental expats lol. Cheap and delicious food, haircuts and other services. Sure the place is a bit scammy and I'd avoid it at night but it's awesome haha. Love your video as always. Let me know if you are still in HK. Would be amazing to meet you and have a hang. Cheers 🇭🇰
I stayed there in 1980 81 on the 18th floor there was a place called the Travellers Hostel. For about 15 HongKong dollars. Looks like they cleaned the place up since then.Back then mostly chinese and indians. If you go out the back entrance were 2 pubs I use to drink in. One was called the BlackSmiths Arms pub. I worked there 6 months.
You are a star now my man...im happy for you. Most of us Africans who know of you, are proud of you...keep it up
