I started collecting again for nostalgia and told myself I was really only interested in the Quarter Century Rarity cards. Didn’t think some of these cards would be so expensive 😅
The problem is they weren't. Blue-eyes was 60-70. All DMG were in 50-60 range, god cards were like 10-20, other older cards were way down the list from where they are now. I think its important to know that the highest rarity will never return again but this is absolutely insane.

Even a lot of qcrs are cheap, we see a lot under $5 because they are less desirable. Nothing insane about it. There are a lot of listings now stabilizing the prices.

honestly it says A LOT about how amazing thrust is that it's still in the first page given how much easier it is to pull than any given qcr in the nostalgia pool. a few others that're pretty high from the regular set are toad, monster reborn, and i think colossus as well.
Damnnn. I was Lucky enough to pull Caius & Dark Magician in QCR. I pulled them. Immediately Double Sleeved them with Dragon Shield Silver Inner, Gold Outer, and Brand New Toploaders. MINT!
This set got me into collecting again, but the boxes are so random. My first box I got 2 dark magician girl QCRs, and I was so hyped that I got another one that had the worst QCRs. This set is a gambling man's dream!
I missed out on two blue eyes because I was in meetings at work 😒 one sold for 120 the other for 110, I don’t think the prices people are posting are all selling. I think people are posting them who aren’t big collectors and if they get an offer for 130 of a 5 dollar pack are selling them.
I dont think this is a bad thing. Just going by what u said if u pull 3 decent qcrs at around $30 each the rest of ur box, bulk wise and other qcrs, will get u the value of the boostwr box itself. So it makes buying a box feel worth it, idk when the last time buying a booster box felt worth it.
The DMG A and C artwork are crazy expensive in the ocg in qcr. The movie art usually sells I think above 200 and the collector tin art was a world champion card and that sells for over 300. so, I imagine people want a cheaper alternative. Kind of regretting not buying those two cards at 40$ each.

Also platinum thrusts and blue eyes and cheaper QCRs like heat wave neptabyss and the dragonmaid alt art spell. Hope i can grab BLS, emperor dragon and dark magician for my collection too....
You're forgetting one thing: it's not always (just) buyouts. Everyone has their own personal favorite card(s). I recently bought Legendary Duelists II, and out of the three decks included, I was really after maybe.... ten of them (mostly the full Exodia set and the Egyptian Gods).
I remember when Ra Yellow was the biggest set and I ended up buying it steadily for a couple years. So many popular new sets I would have thought that they retain more value even with retrains.
I bought 2 booster boxes when the set came out, I just unboxed 1 the other week and out of the maybe 5 QCR's that I pulled, I think 1 was from the nostalgia pool and it wasn't a super cool one. I'm kinda thinking of keeping the other box sealed and just sitting on it.
My first pack that I opened I got the qcr dark magician. Wild. The prismatic secret rare morphing jar #2 that I pulled next looks sick. All in all this set is the most fun I’ve had opening something in awhile
I have wondering about that too, especially getting a Blue Eyes White Dragon Quarter Century from the first time, and one person offered $200 for the card out of $250 think it over accepted his offer only to go for another offer can't blame them at all. Decided that grading it is the better option, and let's hope that the QCR Blue eyes is not like Dragon Master Magia price jumps up like crazy.
What i HATE is I can't feel safe buying a booster box cus I feel like it'd from a case that the seller knows the box is crap if that makes sense so Yyaaayay a box.... from.a case where the seller pulled a good pull so ODD ARE rest of case Is crap.
So far, unsure where other people are from. Here in Australia a box is between 220-310AUD, I finally bought a box while on sale for $198AUD and got 6 QCSR in it. Dark Magician, Obelisk the Tormentor, 2× Dark End Dragon, Nekroz of Trishula, Promethean princess bestower of flames.. I Feel like i got a pretty decent box! I know not all boxes will be great. For the collector its always the unknown of what could be sitting in a box.. Ill find out again tomorrow when another box turns up
There’s cards that are $3 qcrs so it kind of balances out. The cards seem to be settling with many listings now. Prices seem more fair considering most of the set is dirt cheap and these cards have stabilized.
I think the plat secrets are kind underrated, maybe I just really like them. Yes I know QCR is better but it’s so hard to pull specific cards if you get it but it’s plat I’m still happy. I pulled the plat blue eyes, I’m happy with that…
I feel like the nostalgia stuff was downplayed pretty heavily and people are just realizing it now. $40 for the qcr dark magician girls on launch weekend was wild, this is a lot closer to what I was expecting
I only have managed to get my hands on 6 packs of quarter century bonanza. And the only store in my city that sells Yu-gi-oh cards doesn't even sell that set.
I got an entire case and didn't get anything i wanted. Got a few good pulls but nothing like i was expecting. Goes to show just how rare the top end is.
I just received a box i bought for 95, and got one of the nostalgia cards i wanted (Machina Fortress QCR) and a heavy storm QCR. Was thinking of getting another, but with the lrice being what it is, think ill just buy a single QCR machina gear frame and leave it at that. Also one box and only one TTT. Im not salty at all :))))

It was the Blue-Eyes QCR 😵 I nearly got all the god cards in the 5 pack box too. I am glad Ruxin did the math for me 😂 I'm just a slifer slacker and am so incredibly fortunate I guess, I don't really have the means to buy products straight up anymore, and this was just something to treat myself after work.

Okay now im glad i 'settled' for the platinum secrets. Now I'm a couple of my favourite cards weren't printed in Bonanza lol I don't think I could've gotten a Relinquished QCR if it were printed in this set. Maybe they should've put these nostalgia cards in the main set.
I was always gonna settle for the Plat secrets for my decks because I think they look better, personally I'm only gunning for some QCSRs for collection/monetary speculation reasons

Yup, each $100 booster box only comes with 5-6 QCRs. Bought 3 boxes and didn't get a single QCR I wanted (out of a wishlist of 127 cards).

Because SDK Blue eyes are easy to pull compared to LOB blue eyes. So many people have SDK blues QCR already.
