There are drain holes at bottom of the "U" design, once the air goes down it loops back up into bottom of air box, then passes air filter, once the air is near top of air box after being filtered, it finally goes into horizontal tubing that leads to throttle body. The chances of water getting sucked back up vertically after passing the drain holes at bottom of "U" design and all the way up to filter are very slim... Sure the air maybe a bit hotter if idle, but when moving the air is being funneled in through front opening. My main and only real concern with this would be more road dust getting into engine bay since it's not being captured by the enclosure that the top of that shroud you are removing would make... ALSO, If these cars didn't have all the torque kick in at such a low rpm I might be a lil concerned about MAYBE a bit sluggish low to mid-range acceleration since some of air is not being forced into intake, and instead going past/over into engine bay since top piece is removed. All that said.... I think he will be perfectly fine guys...

Diverter valve. Blowoff valves blows off to atmosphere, and diverter valve diverts the air back into the intake. All stock turbo cars have diverter valves.

The stututu is actually air escaping through the turbine, but the ahpshhh is air escape through a blowout valve.

If you just really got a fever for the pshhh sound you can get the most of that noise by completely removing the filter housing and filter. Its not the best idea but neither is this video.
