Dude, I am new to banjo and am curious what style of play are you doing? I tried to answer my own question, even went to your website and couldn't find out.
This is awesome. Does the course have the tabs or teach how to play this song and is the course appropriate for a brand new banjo player? Thank you, Mr. HBD.
You have a very refined and unique right hand technique. Is this a very deliberate thing that you work on all the time or just a natural way you’ve always played?
Appreciate it - I can only say I try to be as efficient and relaxed as possible. Also I much prefer the mellower tone from playing closer to the neck than the bridge.
@ I’ve always plucked too hard and it really held me back. About 90% of my practice now over the last couple months has been to get used to creating as much sound with as little of a touch as possible. I really appreciate it way more when I see that in others. I also think it’s an underrated skill
@@cb73 100%, I think it's similar to sports... when you see a professional athlete their form looks effortless whereas someone starting out looks very effortful. It's all about efficiency and that just comes with time.
Always great when HBD releases a new video 🪕 thank you banjo partner!

OMG, HBD is back!!

Are your spikes facing up or down? I see you have it capoed on the 2nd fret, is the fifth string spiked at 7th? Sounds great!
Spikes face up, thanks dude!

This is just bluegrass style, Scruggs style, 3-finger style etc. just adapted to different music!
