The Red light is used to preserve your night vision during night time operations... Ever notice how in airplanes and helicopters operating at night the instruments and any cabin lighting are always illuminated in red. The red is perfect for reading a map or looking through your backpack when you want to keep your eyes dilated
I've had one for many years, dual color beam (red) is important to protect night vision (photography, start gazing..). Main beam is just right for camping and night vehicle activities. Have used for 100's probably 1,000 hours or more, trouble free. Red beam stays lit for 2 days, undisturbed, the ultimate night light (aka where's the privy, at 3 am?). It's been submerged in many drinks, been used as a hammer and dropped dozens of times. Just saying it''s rugged,.and no surprise, I'm replacing it now, $22 on Amazon. But I had to come here to verify the model #.
The Coast PX20 is water resistant up to 2 Meters, and the red light is NOT for SOS or rescue purposes !!!!! The red light is for Tactical use at night, so you don't give up your location, and its perfect for pilots to use in their cockpits while in flight to illuminate specific switches and buttons. It would probably help to do some research before you made this video.

My battery section was stuck! I watch your video and literally just tapped it on the counter and voila! Thank you.
it says water resistant so it should be okay in the rain and the red is for at night because red does not ruin night vision . nice vid tho just bought
