I was a 10 year + vegetarian and yes I tried doing it right! Organic all different types of veggies and I keep getting sicker weaker with joint pain, IBS, gull blatter pian. About 2 years ago switched to keto and started feeling better within weeks than a year ago went mostly animal based foods and feeling fantastic! Blood work is great now also. Never plant based again.

That's the big go to for vegans, "you didn't do it right". I was exactly the same-did ALL the thing for a proper whole food, plant based diet. The nut butters, beans and legumes, whole grains, no fake meat, very little junk...it was spot on.

Veganism amounts to a starvation diet. People who have the genetics to better survive famines do better and extrapolate their experience to be the general rule. If anything, the vegan lifestyle is more ideological.

@@fatasssquirrel1731 Good point. We're all a bit different in what we can tolerate. Another thing to beware of, beyond the starvation issue, is that plants contain a wide variety of toxins. Depending on what vegetables are consumed, and in what quantities, we could be slowly poisoning ourselves.

For me, one of the more surprising aspects of a low carb high fat diet is the effect on jet lag. Two years ago, I flew to the UAE and it took about six days for my sleep pattern to adapt to the nine hour time difference. At the time, I was eating what I considered to be a healthy, whole food diet with real, single ingredients and lots of fiber, and very little processed food. This year, I returned to the UAE but my sleep patterns were fine from day one. I then flew to NZ, another ten hour time difference, and again felt no jet lag symptoms. I returned to the US, a nineteen hour time difference, in effect five hours, and was immediately in sync with my sleep patterns. I would describe my diet as carnivore-light - I still eat some green veg, but avoid grains and all starchy veg, seed old and processed crap.

Update! Thank you everyone for your advice- I increased my intake of the 73/27 ground beef. Today I weighed back at 120lbs, so pretty happy! And I realized with eating that I may have been eating too fast! And with bacon maybe eating that too fast, which I shouldn’t since it is more tough in the meatier part, made it hard for my body to pass. Plus I ate too much at once. So I slowed down, and this morning ate only 3 slices of bacon, took time chewing. I ate 2 hard boiled eggs, and a beef patty that is around 9 oz of the 73/27 ground beef. I added a little redmand’s sea salt to my water for electrolytes. And bingo, normal bowel movement! I was so worried about eating too much meat and read too much can make you constipated if you over consume. But I think my fat and protein wasn’t balanced enough, and I wasn’t chewing long enough. I also bought and baked some beef trimmings and also probably helped.
Thank you all for your help. ☺️🤗 I plan to stick with ground beef, eggs, and not over due bacon. Will slow down when sitting to eat, and keep adding beef trimmings. And when I eat steaks I will make sure I slow down on all. Seems like I am always in a hurry when eating but that isn’t good. Could be why some get constipated- gotta chew everything really well and slow down, even with busy schedules!
    Original post below:
Thanks Dr. Baker. I look forward to watching your videos daily. I am 6 months on Carnivore diet and wondering if I can eat just eggs and the 73/27 ground beef to make sure I am getting enough fat to keep the bowels moving- and how much to eat if I am 5’7” and 117/118 but want to get to 122ish with weight like before- but not eat too much protein that would cause me to get constipated. I thought I heard eating ground beef is fine. I looked and Ribeye steals don’t have as high of a protein fat ratio as the 73/27 ground beef. Experimenting.

You’ll be fine on 73/27 beef and eggs- if not just add some beef tallow to the mix. Everyone’s biology is different, so you’ll have to experiment with the volume necessary to add weight. Some ppl prefer more variety but you won’t know if you’re one of them till you try it

Eggs ad ground beef should be fine. You at want to add more yoke or butter should you have fry bowel movements. Your needs will vary day today based on activity level. You could add some electrolytes, too, which should help with elimination. I use Trace mineral drops, or Keto chow.

We are so obviously carnivores. Why do you have to convince children to eat spinach and broccoli? Do you think there's any animal on the planet that has to be coerced to eat that which is healthy for it??? We have extremely short digestive tracts, more acidic bile than cats, eyes at the front of our head, ears that tilt forward, stand taller than any animal for our size/weight. We're apex predators.
