If the Original Chicago founders have any sense at all, they would license this group to carry on their legacy. They will never find a group of musicians that have the talent that these people have. The Original group is just carrying on, but the spark is missing. I have gone to many Chicago concerts and the decline is evident. They need to go out on top, and send this troupe out to continue the excellence.
Agreed. L&F do put the spark back in to these wonderful hits (and now deep cuts) beloved by generations, showing the younger ones how it's really done. Excellence without compare.
You miss a crucial factor -- as these guys point out, it was Chicago who *created* the music out of nothing. These guys *play* it (better than Chicago), but they aren't in the same league of song-writing and creating, even though they are a world class cover band, and great performing musicians.
@@zimbot_KWB They may not be in the same league as far as creating the music, but they have what the original band is now lacking , enthusiasm. I asked about 5 other people to go and they all couldn't. I was stuck with an extra ticket. My Dad heard about my situation and asked me if it would be OK if he went with me to the concert. He said he would drive - pay for parking - get us some red vines etc. Not having a better offer, I said yes. Turns out he liked Chicago too, and he and I had the best time that night. The last time I heard this song was about 10 years ago, at the wedding reception of a good friend. It was the first dance song the band played, the one to which only the new bride and groom dance, and I remember thinking it was a perfect choice (L & F play it so much better). 👍
Peter Cetera is a genius composer that has elevated within this song the hopefulness of Romance into the potential of Bliss! Leonid and Friends have beautifully carried on the message here in their rendition. Kudos!
@@tixximmi1. I agree with you as regards back in the 1970's. I too stopped listening to Chicago after several albums. However, hearing this song for the first time, I find it to be most reminiscent of a Chicago song and so typical of their style and sound. I would like to believe my taste has matured as much as I have grown old! A plus is listening to it as a Leonid & Friends effort. Most excellent! Thank you Leonid, lady, and gentlemen! WOW. I've always loved your music but this can straight-up compete against the original album version and hold its own. It's not every day that a cover can be better than the original, but this is one of those days! Well done!
Allow me to share this story: October, 1974, in attendance at a Chicago concert at the Spectrum in Philadelphia, PA. The air inside is thick with Mary Jane, no one cared in those days. The guys are making a good job of it. At some point in the concert, in between numbers, there is an eerie silence in the crowd of 15,000, and someone from the upper deck yells out, quite audibly to everyone, "Happy Man!" Well, they did not do "Happy Man" (one of the "deep cuts" off Chicago VII) at this particular gig, but I sort of got my wish when I saw this cover by L&F on 3/17/20, 46 years later, I am now a happy man! :) PS: On 6/2/23, we go to see L&F in Jim Thorpe, PA. There was a shift in the musicians' positions, and when the MC (Roman, Leonid's son) mentioned that this was the first time that they played this particular number in concert, I knew what was coming, so I yelled as best as my now 67 year old lungs could, "Happy Man!" Sure enough, that's what it was! Talk about being a "Happy Man", 49 years later! A wonderful moment. :) :)
When this CV19 situation resolves itself, I REALLY NEED this Leonid concert at the end of July to happen on the North Shore of Mass as a celebration of maybe some sense of normalcy in life again. I have my 6 seats in the front row and am praying this show, along with all the others, all go off safely this summer. We all need this right now.

@@74bshs - In July of 74 - I was turning 15 and for my birthday I wanted to go to a Chicago Concert. My mom got me two $5 tickets, and I asked my friend if he wanted to go. He couldn't. Whenever I pause and think about Chicago - I think about my dad. He's long passed - and I'm still listening.
@@murraywestenskow2896 Murray, What a beautiful story! Memories like this are what made the 70's the best decade in which to grow up. Go check L&F out when and if they are in your vicinity this year, it's well worth it! Take care, John in Montrose, PA
PS: My tickets were $7. I still have them!
One of my favorites. Those Chicago guys could write music. And now these Friends make it last and last. God bless them all.
Music knows no boundaries, but nonetheless, you lot do your Mother Country so proud. Thank you from Australia.
These folks are the best musicians and vocalists and the harmonies are excellent. Thumbs up and I hope you are all safe during this conflict
What a great way to start my day here in the USA. Praying for all of your safety and continued blessings. Hope Vasili Akimov is OK (didn't see him here).
Yes! Yes! I’m back to fall in love all over again. Hadn’t heard these songs in a few days. It’s amazing how anointed they can be even when God is never mentioned. God is in the original songs, and he is surely in the Leonid & Friends music. Thank you God I needed this today. I’m falling in love with You.
Sorry, forgot to mention, Oleg's amazing talent on the sax, percussion (and even ghost lead guitar in one video) plus his energy and passion is AMAZING and MUCH loved!!!!!!
Damn this vocal is amazing!!!! One of Chicago's most underrated songs.
They are all percussionists on this song. What joy with which they embrace it. No instrument is small in the hands of great musicians!
It was even cooler when they all put down their horns, etc. and did this in concert in Jim Thorpe, PA (and elsewhere this year 2023) in June of 2023. Totally magical. go see them when you can, you won't be disappointed! :)
Since the loss of Serge and Sergey, This band lost it very best jewels.
SO AGREE SADLY
...Sergey Kashirin, I love you man! And all of you wonderful, so talented people who make us feel alive amid this insane situation of quarantine depression. Bless you all and keep up the good work!...
Yes I do also😍❤️😁👍🥰😘👏👏👏
I just love your music. NO BAND COMES CLOSE! LEONID & FRIENDS is Mother Russia's gift to the world. On your next trip to the USA try to come to San Antonio, Texas for a taste of Southwestern hospitality and the bestTex-Mex food on the planet. Keep on playing.
Thank you for lowering my blood pressure :)
Hahaha... I just finished listening; I'll go check my blood pressure now...
...better than any Rx.
Great arrangement. Sounds perfect. .........Great haircut Leo.
At last
The mixing is SPOT on, Voice doubling in just the right spots. Man, you guys are really into the fine details.
4 minutes and 59 seconds of escape from unrest and depression. Thank you.
I can't believe it. This musical ensemble does not miss a beat. They are so good, it's insane.
Melhor banda cover do planeta, de todos os tempos. Chega a superar o original.
Getting into the Chicago deeper cuts now.
Excellent!
Yes, yes, yes.
Kudos!
Why would anyone thumbs down this video?!! More power to you guys!! Can you do "If She Would've Been Faithful" next please?
It wasn't a good song. Leonid and the crew are good but this is why I left Chicago by the time their 3rd album came out.
Y'all are fabulous musicians.
@@tixximmi1 Tix - It's a different sound from what we "expect" from Chicago. I don't see how that makes it not "a good song". It depends on the ear of the beholder.
@@tixximmi1 Come on, guy, lighten up. This is so musically and lyrically perfect. And Chicago 5-6-and 7 were their best albums. But it''s a matter of taste...
Every dog has it's day. These guys are at the top of their game. Beautiful!!
This is perfection! Thank you to the whole band. It’s lovely seeing Rei back with L&F. Makes me miss you all so much. The world is a little crazy right now, but I’m this moment I couldn’t be happier. Xo
It's the media that is crazy. I'm normal.
Love this song... beautifully done! Bravo! Hoping that you’ll do “No Tell Lover” some day.
Thaat would be perfect
OMG another one nailed SO smooth!!! DID not miss ONE beat!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW Thank you!!!
Yep you got it!
I had never heard the Chicago version of this until a few days ago when I thought I would have a listen to compare it to this. Conclusion: THERE IS NO COMPARISON! This version is just too good.
Watching all these musicians fills me with happiness n amazement ❤ can’t imagine how many hours they have practiced to simply nail these songs😮
Sorry but the original is way better!
@@JC-tt1dh I respect your opinion but I am also entitled to mine 🙂
My favorite part of this song be it Chicago's or this one - is the scatting towards the end
Yep, the scat was a perfect fit here! 👍👍😊
Yes, I was excitedly waiting for it as the song progressed. Serge nailed it.
My favorite part IS the end. This is why I left Chicago after Chicago 3. I never have equated Chicago with ballads.
@@tixximmi1 not even Colour My World eh?
Simple and elegant. What a fabulous vocal talent.
I hope that the war between Russia and Ukraine will not affect the kind of beautiful music that you guys make. Here's hoping Serge does not feel discriminated and you continue to be united thru the amazing covers that you produce. Long live, Leonid and friends!
Leonid, gentlemen in the band, Ksenia and Irina, you have jumped to the top of my bucket list of bands I wish to see. Thank you for breathing life back into the music landscape. Bravo!! Keep safe and hopefully I'll be one of the patrons in the crowd cheering you on.
In my adult cellphone enable life, I’ve never been more compelled than now. I’m in a noisy bar with my iPhone speaker at my ear to listen to Happy Man! Makes me happy! Man
PS. Come perform at the Gas South Arena in Duluth, GA! Andrea Bocelli was here last month. We need you all to play here too!
Wow, great singing, beautiful music & overall great rendition!!! Our love & prayers are with you Serge & family. We are praying for Ukraine. 🙏🏼❤ 🇺🇦
WOW. I've always loved your music but this can straight-up compete against the original album version and hold its own.
It's not every day that a cover can be better than the original, but this is one of those days! Well done!
Love seeing the brass section guys smile while they play.
I think they are all having fun at what they are doing... isn't that great, for once?! :)
i really want to support this band may god be with all of you .leonid and friend
Listening to this group makes me a Happy Man.
This gives me chills! You’ve done it again!
Indeed! :)
Matt, me too, in mid-July in Jim Thorpe, PA. We saw them there last year, they are quite an act. Let's both hope and pray for the best!
Круто !! Респект......! Слушал еще в 79 м , в оригинале по радио Варшава , от Чикаго .... восхищался ....!! Молдцы ребята!!!!!!! ...
your chemistry is clear, this band is capable of playing any song with extreme perfection
Одна из лучших групп, которые я слышал, исполняют версии великой американской группы «Чикаго», как и многие другие. Привет из Буэнос-Айреса, Аргентина »!!
I get this biggest grin when I see another video from Leonid and Friends. Thank you, I'm a happy Man.
One word for all these great songs, "therapy!"
Another excellent production by the world's hardest working band! Y'all never cease to amaze. This one is especially a very nice treat! 👍👍😊 Thank you for all your hard work put into another fabulous piece!
Another fantastic cover of a great song. Igor shifted out of beast-mode to show that he knows what being a great drummer is all about!
Happy St. Patrick's Day. Fantastic transcription, Leonid. Absolutely love this song...especially sung by Serge. All the best and hurry back to the USA when the world has healed.
Ну хоть ......кто то .....на конец .....услышал ......! ) истинную красоту ....! Респект ребята , классс............. !!!!!!!!!!!!!
BRAVO gents and young lady.
This makes me happy!
Serge's voice.....pure gold.
Спасибо и да благословит вас Бог, Леонид. Two years later, it is very obvious that part of me being a 'Happy Man' is this band, their talent, their commitment, their style...EVERYTHING about them. Спасибо и да благословит вас Бог, Леонид. I am a retired professional drummer for 30 years from Los Angeles, I am a snob for great music and Leonid and Friends far exceeds any expectations for a cover band from Russia. I am beyond amazed, I am blessed EVERY time I rewatch a video, thank you Leonid, for your vision. Спасибо и да благословит вас Бог, Леонид, Вы удивительный человек.
I love this song! That was awesome! Never stop doing this!!!
Love it! A piece of peace in a world of turmoil. Thank you my dear friends across the Great Atlantic. God Bless you all!
That beautiful female singer can even rock those "Mom Jeans."
That is because Ksenia is an angel. They apparently come from Chita, not Heaven.
@@HeadHunterSix Certainly not China! :)

You're joking, but I've been watching these videos, and I truly wonder if she might be an angel. Too perfect, all the way around.
Nailed it again. They never miss. What a joy it has been to watch them over the past 4-5 years as their reputation has grown. Brilliant musicianship and a wonderful spirit and energy to what they do. Thanks again for your lovely gift to the world.
So Elegant And Beautiful. One Of My Favorite Songs All Time Love This Band Pete sr Siny
Every Detail is Captured with this Great Band. Crystal. Pete sr. Siny
Замечательно ! Впрочем как и всё, что вы исполняете ребята ! Браво !
definitely one of the world's best cover bands
I'm smiling here, just smiling 😊😁😀😃😘👍
Good😁
One more close to perfect performance. Good times are really back when you play.
They enjoy playing music each other, very good group.
Toda a banda é espetacular! Mas o Leonid Vorobyev é um dos maiores baixistas que já vi tocar.
Awesome as usual! Serge's vocals were absolutely spot on!
Being quite ill and in a nursing home the last 18 months has left me a great deal of time to reflect. I am 61 years old and Chicago has been in my life for 45 of them. I know this is asking alot but I believe it is time for Bobby, Walt, Lee and Jimmie to make Leonid and friends members of Chicago allowing the 16 year olds of the present and the future to make Chicago the sound track of their lives-for their first kiss-their first love-their first heartache-and maybe their last. Boy I could go for a Demon Dog right now! I love you Chicago. I love you Leonid, Sergey, Serge, Igor, Ksenia, Vlad, Maxim, Andrey, Rei and Oleg . Please pray for me.......................
Wow ! Hace mucho deseaba encontrar un remake perfecto y he aquí ! Muchas gracias!
Шикарно! Ранний Чикаго! Браво!
Идеальное исполнение. Браво. Вы вернули меня в мою молодость. Спасибо вам огромное за такую работу.
I been listening to this song everyday 😊
Ksenia is Beautiful as Ever!!
