I just passed the test (it’s really not as bad as you think). I was in the same shoes as a lot of people frantically searching for how to pass and what not to do and blah blah, and I passed with a 96 or something. Dont over-stress yourself. Be confident (not stupid) and just appear in control the whole time. Also use your manners because the person testing you has the power to fail you at any point. YOU GOT THIS! That is fantastic! I avoided driving for years because I was terrified of driving and didn't want to hurt people. Now, I'm practicing, and plan on scheduling my test in September.
I have worked in academia most of entire long career, now close to retirement. To state what should be obvious to society (e.g., voters), there are serious pedagogical and other problems with so many people failing driven tests. It makes no sense that the best and brightest among us are in fact so weak that they mostly fail a simple driven test despite strong results on theory tests. I am seeing a lot of medical and biomedical students failing driven tests who have strong grades in all subjects, including many that require strong ability in implementing complex procedures under stress. In my domain, if this many students failed, the administration would be failing me, not the students. Consider another perspective. The examiner failed you repeatedly, implying you are so dangerous that you should not be allowed to drive. You are then told you need to do a lot more driving to gain experience. This is often false. We know this because examiners say the same exact thing to drivers, including other examiners, with decades of experience. Some have more experience and qualifications than the examiners. This all points to badly designed education and tests, which voters should demand get fixed.

Smart Drive Test I’ll head on over! I took mine in western Iowa and it seemed like a very modified version of what I’ve been seeing. Maybe because of Covid? It seemed like a regular road test but shorter. There was also a particular emphasis on slow speed maneuvers (we spent longer on these than the rest of the test!!!)

I just wanna say you helped me so much! I have really bad anxiety and ptsd, some of it has to do with being in a car so I was a wreck. I failed my test twice at 27 years old! The day of my third test I was so nervous I was shaking. I was browsing UA-cam for tips and I found your videos. I truly believe they are the reason I passed! I watched several before I went to my test and I only messed up on one minor thing! I was so happy I couldn't contain myself, it was like a huge weight had been lifted. I stopped behind the line just the way you said and I think it impressed the examiner. My neighbor told me he stops for two seconds so I practiced that. I drove around the section of town near the DMV and observed speed limits ahead of time. Thanks for a lot of good advice. I really aced the test with no demerits.

Excellent help for older, experienced drivers taking a license in a new country. We know how to drive and mainly know rules, which theory tests confirm. We get stuck on driven tests due to not knowing what examiners in a modern world look for. Here in Sweden, all training material for examiners and their qualifications are held secret by the road authority (Trafikverket), which operates as a private business, calling examinees "customers", which they use to implement their secrecy. Experienced drivers are failing about 70% of the driven tests and attending driving schools does not much improve outcomes for this group. So, that leaves us needing videos like this one to understand what examiners are looking for.

@@smartdrivetest Viewed previously and "liked", as with the present video. I have a suggestion for a video that I suspect a lot of people would take interest in. I am curious about course material (books, etc) and content used to train examiners. Here in Sweden, the basic examiner program for ordinary car license is 1 to 1.5 years followed by supervised work with a group of experienced examiners. These programs are complex enough to have things like books and manuals. At minimum, there should be guidelines to design driven tests and how to score them. I am interested in pedagogy and see need to better align how and what new drivers learn and how examiners design tests. I could envision writing a book on this topic.

After 2 fails I finally got my license! It's pretty easy for the evaluator to fail you for simple mistakes so keep your head up if it happens. Failure doesn't necessarily mean you're a bad driver. Keep practicing and go at it again. You're bound to get someone who believes in you. But for me I took a step further by contacting a private license and professional dmv agent that helped me to write a provisional letter to bypass the test drive and i was given a provisional driver's license which will last for 12 months. I got a license now and it will serve for 1 year then I renew again. My little advice. * If you think are too nervous for the test drive then you can easily switch to a provisional driver's license which you won't need to test drive.

Got my test on the 25th.... Thank you for this tool as it is expensive to afford classes. I am going off this video plus friends and family aiding me in this but having this tool is very useful.
I'm really happy today, I got my driver's license delivered to my mail. I had my driving test twice and failed both time because I get super anxious! And I will love to share my steps and tips with y'all. Try to focus on increasing your confidence levels. First, if you absolutely cannot control your anxiety like I, taking a few deep breaths usually helps in relaxing. Whether that helps or not, I HIGHLY recommend watching UA-cam videos of road test recorded using a dashcam or you pay a professional dmv attorney that can walk you through the process of skipping the test drive to get your license. Are you worried of failing, Are you worried of being in the vehicle with a stranger? Combo of both? Something else? paying an attorney to do that work is just the best way to overcome your worries and get your license like I do. Remember "Practice makes Perfect." ............and there's nothing to worry about if you did it well on your own!

I passed I watched a bit of your videos, my instructor was super nice and helpful I didn’t do so great on my parallel parking but my reversing was good so I passed that portion I did everything great on my road test and I drove in snow thanks /from Michigan -Mason

Smart Drive Test Thank you Rick, your videos really helped me to study for the test during covid:) I took my test in Etobicoke, Toronto, today was the first day that test centers were open for the G1 exit (G2) road test. I had to drive and switch lanes and the other usual stuff as well as parallel park, 3 point turn and down/uphill park. As for covid measures I had to wear a mask and sanitize as well as get my temp taken, and the driving examiner had to wear a mask and shield, open the window, put a plastic cover on the seat and used lots of hand sanitizer!

I don't know if this is regular but I just passed my on the road driving test and I didn't even have to parallel Park 😳 I think I got super lucky because all we did was change lanes and stop signs. No Mas 😁

stopping at the stop line, when I read the book and did practice tests it said to stop before the stop line, and that's what I practiced when driving, but after watching a few videos I was confused because you mention numerous times to stop when the line is just under the front of the car, so when I did my test I did that, I pulled up and stopped at the line when it was just under the front of my car and I got points removed, I wasn't aware you meant to stop before the line right after it was no longer visible. I ended up failing for missing a playground zone behind a truck and doing 40km/h in a 30km/h, and when I redid the test I passed, I watched a lot of your videos and had great tips, that was the only one I was confused about until I seen this one and you showed the side view being back 2-3 feet from the line.

I took my test in ohio a week ago in North Canton, very simple guys I went into the back of the building. Did two stop signs, one yield sign, and did maneuverability. Practice the maneuverability the most if you're in Ohio, girl ahead of me definitely didn't practice it and failed miserably.

Going for my test today!!! It would be a lie to say I’m not nervous but I am confident in my driving. Taking a pick up truck though and only had a few days to get comfortable with driving the truck. Im a quick learner though, wish me luck !!

I just passed the test (it’s really not as bad as you think). I was in the same shoes as a lot of people frantically searching for how to pass and what not to do and blah blah, and I passed with a 96 or something. Dont over-stress yourself. Be confident (not stupid) and just appear in control the whole time. Also use your manners because the person testing you has the power to fail you at any point. YOU GOT THIS!

That is fantastic! I avoided driving for years because I was terrified of driving and didn't want to hurt people. Now, I'm practicing, and plan on scheduling my test in September.
I have worked in academia most of entire long career, now close to retirement. To state what should be obvious to society (e.g., voters), there are serious pedagogical and other problems with so many people failing driven tests. It makes no sense that the best and brightest among us are in fact so weak that they mostly fail a simple driven test despite strong results on theory tests. I am seeing a lot of medical and biomedical students failing driven tests who have strong grades in all subjects, including many that require strong ability in implementing complex procedures under stress. In my domain, if this many students failed, the administration would be failing me, not the students. Consider another perspective. The examiner failed you repeatedly, implying you are so dangerous that you should not be allowed to drive. You are then told you need to do a lot more driving to gain experience. This is often false. We know this because examiners say the same exact thing to drivers, including other examiners, with decades of experience. Some have more experience and qualifications than the examiners. This all points to badly designed education and tests, which voters should demand get fixed.
Took my road test today and I PASSED on the first try!!!! This channel and Rick helped so much and I am profoundly grateful that he and these resources exist!!

Smart Drive Test I’ll head on over! I took mine in western Iowa and it seemed like a very modified version of what I’ve been seeing. Maybe because of Covid? It seemed like a regular road test but shorter. There was also a particular emphasis on slow speed maneuvers (we spent longer on these than the rest of the test!!!)

I just wanna say you helped me so much! I have really bad anxiety and ptsd, some of it has to do with being in a car so I was a wreck. I failed my test twice at 27 years old! The day of my third test I was so nervous I was shaking. I was browsing UA-cam for tips and I found your videos. I truly believe they are the reason I passed! I watched several before I went to my test and I only messed up on one minor thing! I was so happy I couldn't contain myself, it was like a huge weight had been lifted. I stopped behind the line just the way you said and I think it impressed the examiner. My neighbor told me he stops for two seconds so I practiced that. I drove around the section of town near the DMV and observed speed limits ahead of time. Thanks for a lot of good advice. I really aced the test with no demerits.

Excellent help for older, experienced drivers taking a license in a new country. We know how to drive and mainly know rules, which theory tests confirm. We get stuck on driven tests due to not knowing what examiners in a modern world look for. Here in Sweden, all training material for examiners and their qualifications are held secret by the road authority (Trafikverket), which operates as a private business, calling examinees "customers", which they use to implement their secrecy. Experienced drivers are failing about 70% of the driven tests and attending driving schools does not much improve outcomes for this group. So, that leaves us needing videos like this one to understand what examiners are looking for.

@@smartdrivetest Viewed previously and "liked", as with the present video. I have a suggestion for a video that I suspect a lot of people would take interest in. I am curious about course material (books, etc) and content used to train examiners. Here in Sweden, the basic examiner program for ordinary car license is 1 to 1.5 years followed by supervised work with a group of experienced examiners. These programs are complex enough to have things like books and manuals. At minimum, there should be guidelines to design driven tests and how to score them. I am interested in pedagogy and see need to better align how and what new drivers learn and how examiners design tests. I could envision writing a book on this topic.

Smart Drive Test hey rick just thought I’d let you know I passed and wanted to really thank you for showing how to handle a round about that saved me
After 2 fails I finally got my license! It's pretty easy for the evaluator to fail you for simple mistakes so keep your head up if it happens. Failure doesn't necessarily mean you're a bad driver. Keep practicing and go at it again. You're bound to get someone who believes in you. But for me I took a step further by contacting a private license and professional dmv agent that helped me to write a provisional letter to bypass the test drive and i was given a provisional driver's license which will last for 12 months. I got a license now and it will serve for 1 year then I renew again.
My little advice.
* If you think are too nervous for the test drive then you can easily switch to a provisional driver's license which you won't need to test drive.
Took my road test at 12:15 today in Richmond Vancouver and I PASSED on the first try!! 7 Class!!!! All of your videos helped me a lot and thank you!!!!!!

I'm really happy today, I got my driver's license delivered to my mail. I had my driving test twice and failed both time because I get super anxious!
And I will love to share my steps and tips with y'all.
Try to focus on increasing your confidence levels. First, if you absolutely cannot control your anxiety like I, taking a few deep breaths usually helps in relaxing. Whether that helps or not, I HIGHLY recommend watching UA-cam videos of road test recorded using a dashcam or you pay a professional dmv attorney that can walk you through the process of skipping the test drive to get your license. Are you worried of failing, Are you worried of being in the vehicle with a stranger? Combo of both? Something else? paying an attorney to do that work is just the best way to overcome your worries and get your license like I do.
Remember
"Practice makes Perfect."
............and there's nothing to worry about if you did it well on your own!

Smart Drive Test Thank you Rick, your videos really helped me to study for the test during covid:) I took my test in Etobicoke, Toronto, today was the first day that test centers were open for the G1 exit (G2) road test. I had to drive and switch lanes and the other usual stuff as well as parallel park, 3 point turn and down/uphill park. As for covid measures I had to wear a mask and sanitize as well as get my temp taken, and the driving examiner had to wear a mask and shield, open the window, put a plastic cover on the seat and used lots of hand sanitizer!
I forgot to mention the test was about 15-20 minutes so regular length i’m pretty sure

I don't know if this is regular but I just passed my on the road driving test and I didn't even have to parallel Park 😳 I think I got super lucky because all we did was change lanes and stop signs. No Mas 😁

stopping at the stop line, when I read the book and did practice tests it said to stop before the stop line, and that's what I practiced when driving, but after watching a few videos I was confused because you mention numerous times to stop when the line is just under the front of the car, so when I did my test I did that, I pulled up and stopped at the line when it was just under the front of my car and I got points removed, I wasn't aware you meant to stop before the line right after it was no longer visible. I ended up failing for missing a playground zone behind a truck and doing 40km/h in a 30km/h, and when I redid the test I passed, I watched a lot of your videos and had great tips, that was the only one I was confused about until I seen this one and you showed the side view being back 2-3 feet from the line.
Thank you so much for all your videos! I’m in California and passed my driving test yesterday on the first try! I had 5 errors (2 I realized I did them in the moment). All your videos helped me with my confidence!! Good luck to anyone taking their test soon! Sending you good vibes!! ☺️

I took my test in ohio a week ago in North Canton, very simple guys I went into the back of the building. Did two stop signs, one yield sign, and did maneuverability. Practice the maneuverability the most if you're in Ohio, girl ahead of me definitely didn't practice it and failed miserably.

Going for my test today!!! It would be a lie to say I’m not nervous but I am confident in my driving. Taking a pick up truck though and only had a few days to get comfortable with driving the truck. Im a quick learner though, wish me luck !!
