Javed Iqbal says that Allama Iqbal had not even mentioned separation in his Allahabad address. He also reminds that even Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had accepted the Cabinet Mission Plan, which only gave constitutional autonomy within the Indian constitution.

His ancestry of being a Kashmiri is because of Kashmiri Pandits. Grandfather of Alama Iqbal was Pandit Sahaj Ram Sapru who used to work in officer of Afghan governor ruling Kashmir that time, however Pandit Sahaj Ram did some embezzlement of funds which infuriated governor. Pandit Sahaj Ram Sapru was given 2 choices. Get killed or convert. Sahaj Ram converted to Islam , couldn't face locals and left Kashmir for ever and went to Sialkot. Pandit Sahaj Ram married a local woman and father of Allama Iqbal was born to them. In fact Allama Iqbal maintained relations with his cousins like Sir Tej Bahadur Sapru also.

@@nomankh6717 Real issue in pakistan is fair distribution of resources, some areas have lot of them and others don't have essential resources for daily life, role of establishment is another problem, some elements in it promoted certain people and areas under their own schemes and economic interests. Punjab being largest part of pakistan will have larger influence like any other majority nation in other federations. As for people, on one side Punjab may have multi billionneirs and lot of them created in last 40 years, nevertheless million and millions of people are very poor and suffer like other poor people in in pakistan. Not every one in pakistan can be blamed based on their domicile, ethnicity etc. Sticking to rule of law and justice,,true implementation of 18th amendment are the best methods and processes to expect eventual better political and economical environment in pakistan.
Till about 5 years ago, when American dollars were raining and CPEC euphoria was at its peak, Pakistanis would say their ancestors had made untold sacrifices to get Pakistan.

Yes, he is a retired Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court. The family belongs to the Sapru Pundit clan of Kashmir. His grandfather became a Muslim. His father Dr Sir Allama Mohammad Iqbal was a great poet, a great scholar and an intellectual. He was given the title of "Hakeem ul Ummat" by the Community. One of the National Anthem of India, Sare Jahan se Acha Hindostan Humara, was written by Allama Iqbal.

He is wrong on this one. My relative the late Pratap Singh Kairon told my father all details. Gandhi-Nehru never wanted a division it was Jinnah backed by mainly Pakistani Punjabis. Pakistan is an artificial state and in fact most Pakistanis are of Hindu origin and religion does not divide but unites. I am a Jat-Sikh the Hindu and Muslim Jats are exactly the same people as me. Thus Pakistan is a great blunder of history. Indeed Sir Muhammad Iqbal was undoubtedly a creative individual who had no greed for materialism either. A staunch Muslim nevertheless, due to his excellent education and great intellect he never ignored his past. While his ancestor of the Sapru family name had accepted Islam Iqbal in no way claimed to be a Semite (that is Arab in his case). He was extremely proud of his Aryan Kashmiri Brahman (Butt) roots. While not all is in the genes much is and Iqbal was indeed proud of his past which he never overlooked; realizing a great future is never without a past! In fact his son Javid was given not a Semitic (Yehudi-Arab) name but was given an ancient Aryan Persian name. Indeed the son was an intellect as well. I was posted in Kashmir Valley and Iqbal still has relatives out there.

Canada and India are world's apart. Canadians whole heartedly accepted and continues to accept the autonomy of Quebec. Current PM of Canada is from Quebec. On the other hand, India accepted the autonomy of Jammu and Kashmir under it's control but revoked it the moment India got that opportunity. But clearly they failed if you consider the fate of those hapless people who had to leave. When something is not just counterproductive but totally disastrous and also against India's ethos of equity, it has to be revoked. That the revocation - and not the earlier enactment - is just and equitable is the main point.

@Ali Athar my dear Iam Pakistani.I believe in his theory because, Hindus has never ruled Muslims rather we ruled over whole of India then why we asked for small piece of it and now it is clear that we are now divided more on linguistic basis and Hindus are ruling on Muslims in India,and we are fighting between ourselves,we are already separated from Bengalis and Baluchis and pashtuns are not happy with our own ruler.

Had there been no Jinnah at the helm of Muslim League, which literally swept the 1946 elections in the muslim majority areas and emerged as the single largest muslim party, Pakistan would have been something next to impossible.
When he says better forget about Islam as basic theory, he means undoing the very foundation of Pakistan. Then for a Pukhtun like me why should not I join with Pukhtuns in Afghanistan if we remove Islam from our ideology. Likewise for the Punjabis, Sindhis, Baluchis etc.
When he advocates independent Kashmir, then why not independent Pukhtunistan, independent Baluchistan, independent Sindh and independent Punjab.

There is one named Pervez Hoodbhoy who is of the same view. He came up with a novel idea of an ideology based on pure economics. What a stupid idea. Why Sindhis would opt for such an ideology when they are almost self sufficient. And likewise almost all the federating units.
A very senior retired bureaucrat once happened to remark that Pakistan's foundations were based on sheer hatred. Kashmir is a disputed region. Recognized by whole world in UN. Afghanistan and KP are not.
Majority of pashtoons live in pakistan than Afghanistan. Every 4th Afghani pashtoon visit to Pakistan for various needs.
Majority pashtoons live outside KP in Pakistan.
Why not pashtoons of Afghanistan join KP.
Tajiks join Tajikistan.
Uzbek join Uzbekistan
Turkmen join Turkmenistan
Baloch join balochistan
Farsiban join Iran.
