Shane was already in survival mode since day 1, it was cool if he just left the group with Andrea, that would make possible a film to tell his history.
That's most Americans for 85% of us have a plan for zombies more so zombies the nuclear war because well most nukes have been disarmed the US and Russia haven't actively built new ones in over 30 years only nk has built em every other country got theirs from The USA and Russia but like I said the nukes are not kept up they have been dormant for years and well its more likely they won't launch or will blow up on launch hence why it's always threatened but never done
Would’ve been great if he came back in the later seasons like Morales did, maybe as a villain or as someone who gets saved by someone from Hilltop/Alexandria/kimgdom then Rick notices its him or something
Honestly, Shane is my favorite character on the TV Series because Shane is the character with the most obvious psychological transformation in Seasons 1 and 2. From a friend, a good leader to a cold-blooded person, ready to kill anyone he considers as a threat to the group. Sad how Shane died quite early even though Jon Berthnal's character is still can move on more.
I don’t consider him a good leader he did everything for self gain or to start a riot when things could have been handled way easier. He only wanted Lori.
@@confusedzebra3161 I think he means he was doing alright through most of season 1 and before Rick woke up. Not to excuse any of his poor behavior, but he didn't start getting squirrelly until Lori decided it was fair to treat him like garbage and try to cut him out of their family's lives. There were so many reasons why things didn't have to go the way they did, and Lori's treatment of him and her unwillingness to confront the problem with Rick early on (not exactly fitting for the best friend to break the news that he slept with his wife, best come from the wife first) did a lot to lead him down a spiral. He went way overboard on multiple occasions, and there's no excuse for it, but he's not entirely unsympathetic either, and people did leave him out to dry. Then Lori gets Rick's ear and pits them against each other even further. Rick killing Shane could've probably been avoided well into season 2 had Lori not deliberately stoked Rick's jealousy. Shane stopped being a good leader at some point along the line, but that isn't to say he didn't have some kind of a point sometimes, that Rick didn't make any mistakes, or that it had to happen the way it did (especially if Lori was more honest and not so conflict averse).
@@nuIIifiedd No, Shane was proper crazy... dude was unhinged and didn't prioritize the group but just what he considered to be his family. If Rick hadn't shown up the group would have broken apart and none of them would have survived more than a season.
I feel like a lot of the characters in the comics fall into the backround until they are needed again or are straight up killed too early for any kind of development.
But at least in the comics there was a good reason to kill him off early. It made Rick and his group prepared that the living would quickly lose their morality and start killing people.
Well, Shane was a fighter, he knew what needed to be done, he was ahead of the others, that's why Rick might think of him, maybe like a motivation before he does something big!
I loved Shane as a character and even if he was only in a few seasons he's probably my favorite character. Shane was a survivor before any of them and it's crazy how you can see rick do things that Shane would have done.
Tv Universe Shane is in my Top 5 characters he was a badass, way ahead of his time. Jon Bernthal did an amazing job with the character I’m glad he lived longer than the comic version.
If Shane was leader then a lot more people would’ve lived, Rick took chances that got A LOT of people killed but Shane didn’t take chances therefore a lot less people would’ve died
I always liked Shane because Rick turns into Shane later in the series. In the end Shane was what it took to survive, his fault was not being able to let Lori go.
It was really interesting how the two start in the same place and diverge in ways that both felt like very natural progressions for the character. It was really interesting how the show's drastic alteration managed to characterize him in such a way that still maintained his core attributes and internal conflict from the comic, that being the psychological/emotional stress of the whole situation and the envy and jealousy he felt over Rick's family. Short of a direct adaptation, Shane from the show is a masterclass on how to faithfully adapt the spirit of a character while doing something different. Had comic Shane lasted longer (which I wish he did), I could definitely see him breaking down psychologically into what he became at the farm on the show once the full weight of the situation truly dawned on him.
Just wanted to say these are really good videos. They are funny, straight forward and not too over the top. Just wish they were a tad bit longer. Great content my dude
I wish that shane and rick got separated at that once scene where shane throws the wrench and then years or however long later they actually did meet at woodbury again. Idk id enjoy that episode
Honestly, Shane wasn't terrible, (Except for that moment in the CDC) Shane and Rick are almost identical over the show. Shane shouldn't have been treated as a villain the way he was.
Makes sense given the context of what lesson each hallucination tried to teach Rick. Shane forced Rick to take actions that while unpleasant were ultimately what had to be done. Hershel taught him that it's not always about fighting and there are times when it's okay to give up the fight. Sasha reminded him that everyone looks out for each other even when that cost is one's own life. Even though Glenn would've earned more nostalgia points, at the end of the day, he died as a victim and as a reminder that the world can be cruel. Out of all the characters killed off, Sasha was the first character to have been killed making that self-sacrifice.
something i think is worth mentioning with the otis thing is that shane actually did want the guy to live in fact at one point he actually offers himslef to be sacrificed but otis tells him he wont leave him behind i just think that makes him more interesting

I'd do the same thing too. It's like Rick (obviously wanted to keep his family safe), but put it all on the line for other people thinking he was still a cop. I'd never do that, I'd focus on my own people & that's it
Shane is another character I actually liked as well he was realistic about each situation and how he did it he was over eccentric, but i really like jon berthnal as a character he played a great role wish he lasted longer
