I along with three friends were in the right field bleachers. Mattingly's homer landed directly two rows in front of me. If I run the video in slow motion I can see the four of us going out of our minds. This was the greatest game I ever saw in person. And the Mattingly homer was the loudest I have ever heard a crowd. You could actually feel the stadium shaking. We were all going out of our minds. I think everyone in the bleachers ended up in different seats after the Mattingly homer. Complete strangers were hugging and jumping on top of one another. I didn't get home in New Jersey until 5am. I'll never forget on the drive home my best friend saying we'll never experience anything like this ever again. I called out sick from work (my voice was raspy from yelling the night before so that helped) and I proceeded to sleep fourteen straight hours recovering from the physical and mental exhaustion of the night before. This was Mattingly's last game in Yankee stadium and the first and only post season home run of his hall of fame worthy career. I'm so happy that he got this moment and he can look back and feel the love and appreciation we all had for him. It's strange seeing Mattingly on the same team as Jeter, Bernie, Pettitte, Mariano, Posada and O'Neill. He just needed one more season. The dynasty was already in place.
What a story 💪🏾 I was only 13 but my infatuation grew in that series from years of watching Donnie , Roberto Kelly , Matt Nokes , Kevin Maas , Danny Tartabull , Jim Abbot , Mel Hall and so on , what a run we had 🥺

And I've never heard a crowd that loud before or since. The game was a rollercoaster of emotions back and forth. And I'll cherish this game and the Mattingly homer forever. I didn't get home until five in the morning. I called out of work the next day (the scratchy voice from yelling and screaming the night before helped) and I then proceeded to sleep fourteen straight hours from physical and emotional exhaustion. This was Mattingly's last game in Yankee stadium and the first and only postseason home run of his hall of fame worthy career. But I'm glad he was able to get one last moment of greatness. It still hurts having them lose all three in Seattle. It's kind of weird seeing Mattingly on a Yankee team with Jeter, Bernie, Pettitte, Posada, Mariano and O'Neill. One more season is what Mattingly needed. The dynasty was in place.

I was there--upper deck by 3rd base. Not only the greatest baseball game I've ever attended but the greatest sporting event I've ever attended! The atmosphere at Yankee Stadium was the most electrifying atmosphere I've ever been fortunate to be a part of! I'll never forget it!!

The drama, the back n forth, and the mega-star power is fun to watch and remember. PS; Lou Pinella angrily yelled at a group of Yankee fans after the game, “You *#%*s have just watched your team play it’s last *#%^*ng game at this stadium!!” And, of course, he was right. 😏

Didn’t keep the role players around their superstars around. Mariners in the 95 offseason dumped Tino, Nelson, Blowers. Pretty much gifted the Yankees two great players for their minor league scrubs (Davis and Hitchcock)
In hindsight it's perhaps the best thing that could have happened to both teams. The '95 ALDS may have saved MLB in Seattle for all intents and purposes. The series also gave the Yanks the motivation to come back and win it all in '96 and build the dynasty of the late '90s.
I’ll give the umps credit. Yes they were terrible but they let a lot of shit go. That one interaction after the strike three call I don’t know how the ump didn’t give him the hook Would never see that from the charmin soft umps today
